Nice Italian neighborhood restaurant.
I especially like the mushroom pasta. Service is friendly, on nice evenings the outdoors tables are pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyA very cozy NYC Italian restaurant.
Need I say more? We started with a fresh burrata surrounded by split cherry tomatoes dancing in a wondrous olive oil. I was a little fearful that the pumpkin and corn soup special might be too sweet and creamy, but it was delightful, and I believe didn't have any cream at all. The ground corn provides nice texture to this delicious gazpacho-like (but piping hot) concoction. The fresh cavatelli with broccoli and portobello bathed in a delightful white wine and shallot reduction, was a really wonderful plate. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with the slightest, satisfying crunch, not over-cooked even by a second. The portobello slices were yum-umi, and the sauce provided a light touch that brought it all together. A glass of super Tuscan wine - actually two -paired nicely. Superb, friendly and prompt service.
Be the first to ReplyOh, Pisticci.
I am so grateful I live 2 minutes away from what I consider heaven on earth. I have only gotten takeout from this restaurant, but they absolutely DELIVER on the quality every time. Forget the overhyped TikTok restaurants, Pisticci, to me, is incomparable. For transparency, not every dish I rank below is absolutely perfect, but I have not had one meal so bad that I disliked it. My rankings range from absolute perfection to this was okay. First off, the Fettuccine al Funghi... oh my gosh. This is on another tier. The fettuccine noodles are always cooked al dente, and the sauce is delightful. I always pay $4 extra for the truffle oil, and this really elevates the dish to the next level. This dish is plate-licking clean, and if you are a mushroom fan like me, this is the pasta for you. My absolute favorite. When I'm in a meaty or tomato sauce mood, I opt for the Maltagliati with Ricotta, Spinach and Lamb. This, as someone else described it, is like a deconstructed lasagna. I especially love it when I get a bite of the ricotta, just so creamy. I will note, however, on my most recent order of this dish, they may have forgotten the tomato sauce? Because when I opened up my order, the pasta was totally drenched in brown from the lamb, in comparison to the previous times I have had it. It was still good, but one, it didn't look very appetizing, and two, it was too meaty without the tomatoes to complement. In the times I felt like venturing away from my beloved Fettuccine I have tried the Rigatoni alla Vodka, Tuscan Bean Ravioli, and Cavatelli Broccoli e Portobello once each. The Rigatoni was a solid basic dish! For the Ravioli and the Cavatelli, however, I couldn't help but regret not ordering the Fettuccine. These weren't bad, but the Fettuccine truly is THE best. The Ravioli was okay, guess I'm not a white bean fan. I really enjoyed the creamy tomato sauce it was in, so if you order this, make sure to get a side of bread with it for dipping. I recently tried the Cavatelli tonight, and while I liked it, I learned I'm not a fan of cavatelli pasta. I probably would have liked it more if it was with penne. I also wish the portobello mushrooms were sliced into smaller pieces to be integrated throughout the pasta. Next, desserts. I have tried two - the Coconut Cake and the Chocolate Mousse. The Coconut Cake goes insaaaaane. One of the best slices of cake I've ever had, 100%. I can't help but order this every time I place my takeout order. Just absolutely sumptuous. Chocolate Mousse is good, but the portions are ridiculously small for $9. For your $'s worth, you're better off with the Coconut Cake, but maybe the Mousse's portions are bigger in person. All in all, I adore Pisticci, and I do hope I'll sit down and experience the actual restaurant itself at some point, especially since I know they have jazz Sundays!

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for many years and have always appreciated the classic menu options. However, I have noticed some changes on my recent visits that have left me feeling disappointed. The portion sizes seem to have decreased, while prices have increased, and a new credit card fee has been added. Additionally, the staff appears to have moody demeanor. They seemed distracted and disengaged, which made for an unfriendly dining experience. Furthermore, when I received my meal, half of it was overcooked, which was a disappointment. It's also disappointing that the hostesses are never able to accommodate my request for a table for one. I hope the management will consider these issues and make adjustments to restore the high standards I have come to expect from this establishment.
Be the first to ReplyI have been going to Pisticci for the past 26 years.
They always have had good food and the people working there have been always very friendly and kind. Lately, they have hired a young woman who is always upset and mad. She obviously doesn't like to work there as a server and is unhappy. I understand work is not easy but she should move to something else and stop making miserable the patrons. Every time she is our server I regret eating there.

Updated to reflect owner response: I appreciate the owner's response to our review. I want to first say that I am so excited to hear that Pisticci is transitioning to employee ownership! That is incredible, and it definitely makes us want to come back, despite the subpar experience we had. I also want to address what you've said about our interactions with staff "on a day that we were unhappy." To put it plainly, I know that people can be assholes to staff when they are unhappy with their experience, but I want to emphasize that we are NOT those kind of people under any circumstance. I think it's clear from what I wrote previously (and if you read my reviews of other restaurants, my views are consistent) that we are ALWAYS on the side of workers, and no matter what kind of dining experience we have, we never take out frustration on staff. We always tip generously, our tips NEVER reflect food (or even service) quality as we know that staff rely on their tips for the majority of their income and I would never f**k with someone's ability to pay rent, even if I have a bad experience. I assure you that we were kind, polite, friendly, and understanding throughout. We didn't even tell the waitstaff that the food was not great because we knew it wasn't their fault and weren't trying to get a comped meal. When I said "weird experiences," I didn't mean negative, I just meant that there were several moments throughout service that were awkward, starting with being brought to a table while it was still dirty, so we had to kind of awkwardly stand very much in the space of another table dining while they cleaned it - stuff of that nature. I apologize for assuming a connection between staff energy and how they are being treated by employers. I obviously don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I hear everything you've said about having the same line of chefs working and that you say that the attention to food quality hasn't changed. I'm sure you feel that's true - I am simply reflecting that those are just words if the food being served is bad. What I received on my plate was overcooked eggs, dry lettuce, unseasoned potatoes, soggy/stale bread, sauce that was unpalatable, and burnt pancakes. None of which I ever used to receive when coming here in the past. All of this lead me to guess that, because things are not great right now economically for New York and for restaurants, maybe there's been a change in the ingredients that are being purchased, or other changes to cut costs that have impacted food quality. I would understand why a restaurant would be driven to do that, but that ultimately doesn't change the fact that as a diner, the quality of my food would be impacted, and I would choose not to come back. Because of your response, I've updated my review to 3 stars, but the fact remains that the food really wasn't good. I would be (reluctantly) willing to come back for brunch one more time (especially because of the exciting transition to employee ownership!) in the hopes that it was an off-day. Though I'm hesitant to fork over another $50 if you're implying that there was nothing wrong with the food we were served and that we should expect a meal of similar quality. If this experience was a one-off, I would delightfully remove this review and write a new one that reflected the better food quality.

The food is consistently great ! Service is friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. Pisticci is a real gem in Harlem.
Be the first to ReplyI especially loved the ambiance in Pisticci.
The food was great! The burrata salad was amazing. I also had a pasta dish with truffles, also delicious. Service was timely and up to par. I'd go again. I loved the outdoors and entry way, you kinda have to step down to enter the restaurant which gave me a cool Italian summer vibe. It was spot on! All in all service, food, ambiance was wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyFood is great, but I really wish it came faster.
I highly recommend the spaghetti with meatballs. The vibes are overall very good, and there's usually chill music in the background
Be the first to ReplyOur waitress was lovely, the vibes were also great.
The food however was mid at best. We ordered the steak and eggs, breakfast carbonara, uovo contadine, lemon ricotta pancakes as well as an espresso martini and a carafe of the Bellini. My favorite dish was by far the uovo contadine but I felt like I could make it at home. Honestly everything I tried felt like something I could make at home. There was no wow factor. The lemon ricotta pancakes were also solid but nothing special. The least appetizing dish was 100% the steak and eggs. It was the tiniest little steak you'll ever see. We ordered it medium rare and it was RAW (in a Gordan Ramsey voice). Breakfast carbonara was fine I guess, but needed salt. I understand now this place is meant for dinner. I would like to try dinner but only if someone else suggested it. Would probably not go back on my own. If I lived next to it I would go all the time, but I don't so probably won't go back. P.s. espresso martini was REALLY good

I was looking for a place to take a true "Harlem Foodie" and I have to put it in quotes because anyone who claims to love good food should absolutely know about Pisticci! After, 13 years back in New York this is still my most pleasant surprise find!! The food is authentic and extraordinary! I have now made it a go to show off location. When I just want to impress someone with a quick bite I run them through Pusticci! Thanks Pisticci!!!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome food, even better service.
Nice date or just going out with friends, this is the place to go.
Be the first to ReplyPretty good.
The rigatoni alla vodka was the star the pisticci pasta was ok, the tiramisu and coconut cake were pretty good and the minestrone soup was tasty and light. Also tried the garlic bread which was a little too sweet for my taste.

If you're in the mood for some authentic Italian cuisine, Pisticci Uptown is definitely worth a visit. I recently had dinner there with some friends, and we were all thoroughly impressed by the experience. The restaurant is very spacious, which makes it great for groups, and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a touch of traditional Italian charm.I ordered the rigatoni and it was absolutely delicious - cooked to perfection and served with a rich and flavorful tomato sauce. The portion size was generous, so it's definitely good value for money. However, it is on the pricey side, so be prepared to pay a little extra for the quality. The real star of the show, though, was the dessert. We tried the tiramisu, which was hands-down one of the best I've ever had. Creamy and decadent, with just the right amount of coffee and cocoa, it was the perfect ending to a great meal.Overall, I would highly recommend Pisticci Uptown to anyone in the area who is looking for some fantastic Italian cuisine. It's not the cheapest option, but the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere more than justifies the price.

My fiancé planned a surprise engagement party for me at Pisticci. The food was amazing and ambiance of the wine cellar cozy and romantic. We will definitely be returning!
Be the first to ReplyPisticci has very good food.
I cook Italian so I know what I like and they are good! However,I'm not the only one who thinks so and so get there early! What's very nice is to sit outside in good weather so when wait staff is running around, busy, you can relax and chat out of doors.
Be the first to ReplyI love me some Italian but THIS! is a gem! You must go here.
The food is beyond amazing. And the drinks are just right. I've been back twice in one week I liked it so much. And the MOUSSE! most people don't know how to make mousse so you're in for a treat with this one.

Pisticci is my favorite Italian restaurant in the city at the moment. It's a traditionally decorated Italian style restaurant tucked away on the corner of an uphill street in Morningside. I came here for brunch out of curiosity because my family has eaten here a few times before but only for dinner. The staff are always so sweet and attentive. Both my cousin and I decided to get the steak and eggs with a side of their potatoes. I asked for my steak medium and my cousin got hers medium well. The steak was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned as well. It was so yummy! Since it was a little closer to dinner, we decided that we needed to try the tiramisu. I'm not too much a fan of coffee flavored desserts but this recipe changed my entire perspective. This was honestly was the best part of the meal. Our server Halle made our day. She was so nice and definitely deserves all the praise along with the bartender, but unfortunately I didn't get his name. They allowed us to stick around a little longer and we ended up having an amazing conversation with the manager.Honestly one of the best and cohesive restaurant experiences I've had in a VERY long time. Definitely would recommend.

This restaurant seems to be a decent place with a great atmosphere and I decided to dine in with my friends on a Friday evening. I ordered a medium rare beef steak, and it was tough and unchewable. Either the meat was a cheap cut or the Chef doesnt know how to handle a steak. I was puzzled. The steak came with plenty of greens and it didnt have any dressing at all. One of my friends also had the same experience. On the positive side, roast potatoes and buttered toast are delicious with great flavors. And this place has a great energy. People might only come here for a drink. I'm confused. I will have to think twice to come in the future.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with a date and definitely wasn't disappointed.
It is right near a bus that was near my home so I got there a little early. The date itself went well and I had good food. The ambiance was very nice and staff was definitely friendly + attentive. There was still social distancing with space so that was also nice at the time. No complaints from me.
Be the first to ReplyNice brunch here.
Definitely recommend the berry refresher, such a good drink. The bec was also good. Good service, no complaints o
Be the first to ReplyReally well-made and fresh Italian food.
Especially their Papardelle alla Bolognese and an insanely yummy coconut cake that will totally blow your mind. Considerate service and timely and well-packaged deliveries are just the cherry on the cake that is this establishment.

Pisticci offers up delicious Italian dishes in a cozy atmosphere. The mushroom fettuccini was full of flavor and generous of portion. I also enjoyed the lemony side of broccoli rabe. I wanted to order everything on the menu so looking forward to going back to try more things.
