Pizzeria Beddia Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
Pizzeria Beddia had been on my hit list of pizza places to
Pizzeria Beddia had been on my hit list of pizza places to try out for quite some time as I don't often venture out into the Fishtown area of Philadelphia. Unassuming would be the best way to describe the storefront as it looks sketchy from the outside and you can miss it if you're not specifically looking for it, but you're welcomed to wonderful and buzzing interiors the moment you step inside. The layout and decor is a bit unconventional, but the food speaks volumes, so that's why people flock there. We started off with a piece of the tomato pie since we'd never tried the Philly version of it. I'm used to a completely different version of the "Trenton Style" tomato pie which has cheese on top and is served hot. The Philly version is served cold and without cheese, but was surprisingly good, with a nice crunchy focaccia-like base and rich quality tomato/oil on top. I was impressed as I wasn't expecting it to be so good. For pizza, we went with the standard number one pie (listed as tomato, whole milk mozzarella, and old gold). The pizza was prepared to perfection using highly quality and flavorful sauce and cheese, with a wonderfully chewy crust. It reminded me of the freshness and flavors of pizza I consumed in Italy to a certain degree. The 2 of us devoured the whole pie on our own, but it didn't leave us feeling heavy like most pizzas do. While it isn't in the wheelhouse of what I normally get when I'm in the mood for pizza, it's a style I'd be happy to indulge in on occasion to mix up the palate when it comes to different pizza styles/recipes. We also tried the soft serve ice cream (both the expresso and sweet cream flavors) since we had heard great things, and they definitely hit the spot as good quality, especially for soft serve. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Although we didn't try them, the salads we saw being served looked amazing. Overall, I'd rate the experience a 4.5/5, but happy to round up since all the items we ordered were delicious and tasty, and we agreed we'd return given the quality of the pizza.
Amazing food and service.
Definitely good for a night out with friends. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Great for families too.

Happened to be in the area and my gf suggested giving beddia another shot. Service and reception was great, much improved. Unfortunately the pizza was underwhelming. Had the spicy, no extra toppings at $26-27.. no salt, not nearly enough cheese, minimal flavorless sauce. Dough had some flavor, not from a good fermentation but maybe a dirty oven. We quickly left; a roaring pizza oven 2 blocks away caught our attention from the window and we had an excellent pizza.

Beddia never disappoints! This is a must-try if you've never been! I usually make a reservation when I go, but I've also been able to walk in and easily get a spot at the bar.

Just want to add to all the other reviews: don't sleep on the salad. I think they mix up the composition every so often and it always slaps. It's always so good. And end with the soft serve. It has that subtle cereal milk undertone that makes it sing.
Wanted to go to Pizzeria Beddia for sometime and finally
Wanted to go to Pizzeria Beddia for sometime and finally had an opportunity to go with my son. Very nice yet casual environment which was great since it was a last minute decision. We were given some seating options and chose a communal table which was fine. Hostess and servers were friendly and knowledgable. We ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza which was fantastic! Very thin and had a nice crunch to it. People next to us ordered I'm guessing was a lettuce plate (I wasn't brave enough to ask), wish we ordered that as well because it looked really good! I had high expectations going in and Pizzeria Beddia live up to those expectations. We left happy and satisfied, would definitely go back!
Came for the pizza.
Stayed for the sweat cream ice cream. 10/10 recommend! The mushrooms were tasty and the pickled chiles perfectly spicy.
I had a girls night the night before my wedding at Beddia.
We did the "pizza party" menu and it was awesome! I've been to Beddia many times and it couldn't have been a more perfect place for a fun and yummy night with my friends. The service was great and they even printed "Congrats!" on the menu which made it extra special. As always, all of the small plates, pizza, and ice cream was delicious! A few girls had not been before and loved the pizza and vibe. The pizza party menu comes with so much food and is perfect for a larger group. Definitely recommend for celebration! Thank you Pizzeria Beddia for being great hosts on such a special night for me :)
Great wine selection.
Great food. Pizzas were pricey but wine was very reasonable. Our server, was amazing. Her smile alone will make us come back. Can't wait to come back and sit in the outside area.
Great atmosphere and service.
Pepperoni pizza was super greasy, but otherwise good. This is a pretty standard, upscale pizza place. A little overhyped and expensive, but I think the vibes are what keeps this place busy.
