Polo Lounge Beverly Hills Hotel
As Beverly Hills as it gets. One of those places in LA where everyone’s looking around trying to spot celebrities. There’s usually one or two at least. Not sure why since the food is just ok. The service is on point and the wait staff is very experienced. I guess that’s enough reason to pay $150-200 a head for eggs and coffee.

Beautiful breakfast sitting outside on the patio. Staff were very attentive and food was delicious. Feels very private but gorgeous decor!

My sons, daughter-in-law, wife and grandson (toddler) at Christmas night at the Polo Lounge, and it was a truly unforgettable evening. The food, wine, ambience, and service were all great. I love good food, and this meal was just wonderful. The price is high, but the quality is higher.

A night to remember! When we arrived for our reservation, we had to wait a bit and headed over to the 1912 bar for a few drinks. We had a great conversation with the bartender who gave us excellent tips for drinks, dinner and even things to do in the area. Once seated, in a romantic booth with partial privacy, our service was exceptional. We felt just as attended to as any of the other probably wealthy, famous people there. The Pretty in Pink cocktail was as tasty as it was beautiful. The McCarthy Salad was excellent. We had Chicken Parmesan and the Filet Mignon for dinner. They were both so, so delicious. Even the bread basket had us smitten. We had sorbet and chocolate cake for dessert. The presentation of each was gorgeous. The meal was well timed and again, our service was top notch. In my life I have about 6-7 meals that I recall in great detail with fond memories and this is now on that list. We intend to make this a must do whenever we visit LA. Thank you!

After spending lunch at the Beverly Wilshere we walked up Rodeo Drive to the supposedly iconic Beverly Hills hotel. We were intended to have a few drinks at whichever bar was open or could accommodate us. From the door staff to the reception staff to the polo bar staff to the pool bar staff no one was welcoming whatsoever. No one wanted us there. I began to question had we walked in wearing rippped jeans? No. Quite the opposite we were very smartly dressed - all 4 of us. The door staff ignored us. The reception staff sent us to the Polo bar who turned us away & sent us to the pool bar / restaurant. The pool restaurant staff were the absolute worst. My daughter and I both wearing long very smart dresses were told there was no table for us - despite nearly every table being empty. It was so incredibly humiliating. They clearly just did not want us there and have a licence to turn away whoever they wanted to claiming lies like there is no table ?! I would simply never return to this place for a drink nor to stay. The hotel had some vulgar looking extravagant horrible wedding at the front which is presumably why they ignore & turn away other paying guests. The whole experience left such a bitter taste. Part of the reason for visiting was to see if we may like this place for a future stay. In that sense it was a successful visit as we will definitely choose the Beverly Wilshere going forward. We loved LA and thank goodness there is a choice and you can easily avoid this place and allow them to just house vulgar weddings. By contrast the Beverly Wilshere which had its faults, also had lovely staff who were very accommodating. It must be the difference between the customer service standards at the Four Seasons Group vs the Dorchester Group. Avoid if you can.

This is a great spot to sit on the patio and eat and drink and people watch. We had a lovely meal and even got to spot a celebrity
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food at exorbitant prices, 20.00 to park
This is a tourist type place, foodies will be sorely disappointed. We got a nice seat outside. There were other customers in sweats, while European tourists were dressed smartly. You won't see any celebrities here, if you were hoping for that. It's mainly tourists and phonies. The food is hit and miss, and not accurately described on menu. The lobster enchiladas had excellent flavor, but had potato in them as a cheap filler, not mentioned on menu. My Nicoise Salad had some weird ingredients also not mentioned like zucchini sticks. The service was not horrible, but I would expect much better here. It is VERY expensive. Waiter told us valet was $15.00 with validation. When we got car back the valet said it was $20.00, excessive. I don't mind spending the money the quality is there and have visited a number of Michelin star restaurants. If you have never been then, have lots of cash to waste and are not a gourmet, go ahead, we won't be back anytime soon.

What a great spot for very good food and wonderful people watching/spotting. The Hotel is an icon. And the lounge is too. Lunch was a delicious salad and a wonderful cappuccino.
Be the first to ReplyEh food, not so great service, better brunches in Beverly Hills
Average brunch at best - crab Benedict was over cooked and no memorable dishes. Outdoor seating was pretty and much better than the dated and weathered interior. Service was terrible - over 30 minutes between certain courses, wrong dishes brought to our table and had to ask for check Strange seeing people be turned away for “ripped” jeans but Pajamas are acceptable? Save the $150/person after tax and tip and there’s much better food and people watching these days than the Polo Lounge at BH.

At the Beverly Hills Hotel nice place to meet up and have some drinks and stay on for dinner. Enjoyed the Crab Cakes and the Salmon. Overall a good experience. Will return.

We arrived from Australia and were advised to wait for a table which took over 30 minutes to prepare while reception staff of 3 people were talking between each other, not work related. I asked if we could sit in available tables outside and were advised we needed to book and the wait was over two weeks. Then when our table was ready, we waited a long time to be served. I left the restaurant and would not recommend due to the poor service by the reception staff.
Be the first to ReplyClassy, cool, old school excellence
The Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel remains one of thee best locations for a classy, old school dinner in all of Los Angeles. I’m a local and I should know. Great food, excellent service, great vibes!
Be the first to ReplyCool vibe, great drinks, chic atmosphere
Been there for drinks in a Sunday afternoon. Even if it was pretty packed they found us a table. Great G&T and amazing live jazz. Excellent atmosphere. Very nice staff, great outdoor place available - booking recommend.

My boyfriend treated me to Sunday brunch at the polo lounge for my birthday. Food was excellent and the choice outstanding. Quantity and quality. Service excellent. Didn’t feel rushed. We asked to sit outside with n the terrace and a table was found .

We were on holiday in LA and had always wanted to have a drink at this famous hotel. We did not eat at the Polo Lounge but called in for drinks after dining elsewhere. I was so disappointed. The bar is quite small and OK. The people around us who were dining were mostly dressed in shorts, T shirts etc. so it felt far from high end (does anybody insist on a dress code??). Although the lobby and hotel from what we saw is beautiful, it is obviously a tourist destination and visitors treat it as such with many casually dressed people just getting their photos etc. Just felt average and nothing special.

Having lunch here is amazing. The staff are so nice and the atmosphere is great. We had two bottles of champagne as it was a friends birthday and then also sent over a birthday treat desert at the end! We were sat in the garden as it was a lovely hot day (although most of it is quite shaded because of the palm trees). The food is pretty pricey but it's a treat and a lovely place for a birthday lunch. Took some great photos and had a little wander after. A must if you're in town!
Be the first to ReplyThere is a reason this is the #1 spot to dine in LA
We chose this as our splurge dinner spot when we were visiting Los Angeles. The restaurant is an institution and my parents had dined here more than once on their visits to the city. Our waiter Alec was absolutely amazing and we never ran low on a thing. The food is exceptional and the Chocolate Souffle, their signature dessert, is a must; just remember to order it at the same time as your meal so it will be ready. There is a beautiful outdoor courtyard area you can sit in that is well lit at night, but it was a little chilly so we opted for a booth indoors. There is really no bad place to sit in the whole place. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance, either through Open Table or directly with the hotel or restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyA great experience!
We were in LA recently and hubby wanted to eat here on a Saturday night. No chance I thought, but the hotel managed to get a booking for dinner! Felt special walking up the red carpet. All the staff we interacted with were just brilliant. Friendly and professional. Credit to the hotel. We had a female server and I cant praise her highly enough and forgot her name sadly, as we were there in March and this is May! But on finding out I ate gluten free food, she pointed out what I could eat on the menu. They went off menu to make my main course which is greatly appreciated. We would love to eat here again but its quite far from Scotland but one day!
Be the first to ReplyAlways a Great Garden Outside Treat to Feel and Eat Special
High Points: Walter our server, the people watching, the handout fresh fries, the whimsical desserts, the fireplace in the lobby, the photos en route to the table, the fresh printed menu, the buzz; dog friendly; great buzz
Low Points: my companions had seared tuna lunch which was a huge platter; I had the crab cake which was smaller than my thumb; no music, we think one server for that many tables was a bit too much pressure on Walter to stay present; the French Vacherin by definition needs something from the freezer: ice cream or sorbet, yet what came was a gelatin w/meringue
Unique Points: the history in the timeless, tacky wallpaper; the menu; the $50 tofu piece; the garden unchanged for decades; the "strawberry shortcake" dessert presentation worthy of posting
A must in Beverly Hills
I have been to Beverly Hills many times in the last ten years, but for some reason i have never gotten around to have lunch at the Polo Lounge.
From entering the hotel upon leaving a couple of hours later i must say that it was a great experience.
It is a bit privey, but in my oppinion this is a must do experience. Food and drinks where top notch, staff was just great and the atmosphere of the whole place was excellent.
I am certainly going back next tim im in LA.
Mediocre food way too expensive
Gorgeous restaurant with polite service and opportunity for people watching and celeb sighting. Sadly, I feel that the food was “just fine” and way, way too expensive. (I hove no problem spending $$..look at my other reviews).
Be the first to ReplyWhen you want to feel like a celebrity….
Upon walking up the immaculate entrance of the Beverly Hills Hotel I had a good idea what to expect but those expectations were far exceeded after lunch.
Obviously the food is prepared incredibly well but it’s the details that set this experience beyond anywhere else I have been too.
I work in the industry (specifically hotels) here in Boston, so I pride myself on exceptional service. Alex my server was incredibly gracious and attentive. I left that day with a renewed sense hospitality.
From the drinks to start and ordering Pellegríno offering if I had a lemon/lime preference is next level anticipatory.
The steak tartare is beautifully prepared with the toast points to accompany the dish and neatly placed in a neatly folded napkin. They don’t miss an opportunity.
Was not expecting the tuna tartare compliments of the chef, my sincerest thanks to Chef. Probably the best tuna tartare on the west coast.
However the exclamation point on the afternoon was when the after lunch cappuccino came out and not only were the sugars neatly arranged. The polished spoon or even the rock candy stirrer. It was the logo of the hotel I worked (at the time) pressed into the foam made me feel so incredibly special and one of kind.
The staff look at all the details in everything wether obvious or beyond and ensure no opportunity to go above and beyond is missed. Alex was an MVP that afternoon. My only regret was not being able to enjoy the dessert I ordered as I had given to a less than fortunate (on my way back to my hotel) individual to treat himself. However this is just another reason to go back and I look forward to dining there again on my next trip to LA.
To everyone at the Polo Lounge, Beverly Hills Hotel thank you very much for making this trip so memorable.

So I had a wonderful time in at the polo lounge. I have always wanted to visit California. However For my bday I didn’t know what exactly I wanted to do but knew I wanted a mix of glamour, adventure and suspense. Ofcourse I had all three. We had a remarkable time dining at this fabulous restaurant. The staff, the decadence and glamour was incredible. My birthday was a blessing because dining at the polo lounge was the icing on the cake. It is a must do. Must see. Must book type of restaurant. You cannot visit la and not dine at the Polo Lounge.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible birthday dinner!
Wow, not only is this restaurant beautiful, the service is amazing and the food is delicious!
Don't forget the incredible live music!
Nice bar and lounge
I went there for dinner, and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant. I ended up eating at the bar, which was very enjoyable. Jimmy the bartender is quite friendly, and mixes a good drink. The food was very good, but not spectacular. The atmosphere of the Hotel is very lovely. It is always worth a visit here, whenever I am in LA
