Prado Lisboa Reviews from The Last Year
Divine food and great service!
Food was divine - we ordered about ten dishes al la carte to share and it was all so incredible. Particular standouts were the cockles, succulent pork and smoked eel. We also had some lovely wine and tried two of the desserts- the famous mushroom ice cream and brioche with coffee ice cream. All delicious! Our server Ronnie was incredible- eloquently guided us through the menu, made recommendations tailored to our tastes, and gave us background about the restaurants’ premise. The ambience was nice, we could see the chefs at work and the music in the background was great! Beautiful venue. We had such a special night at Prado and would recommend it to anyone. We felt as though it was great value for the quality of the food and service.
Wonderful Restaurant
What an amazing restaurant with faultless food and attentive staff. Highly recommended. The tasting menu was one of the best have eaten and definitely worth the money. Thankyou.
Best restaurant in Lisbon!!!
Amazing!!! The tasting menu is a must. Do not hesitate. An incredible experience if you like simple, well-presented food with an explosion of flavors in every bite. The staff is very attentive and takes the time to explain each dish.
A bit 'cheffy'
Start with the positives. The place looks lovely and the service was very friendly. The bread was delicious as was one dish we had which was basically steak without too much else. The negatives in my opinion are the food. If you like food thats a bit 'different' then maybe this is for you. For us everything was just a little bit strange and the texture was also a bit 'mushy.' I think because there is a modern trend for everything to be just cooked through the texture of everything is soft which made for quite an unusual dining experience. I think its more of a culinary experience rather than serving food that is moreish and makes you want to keep going back (personally.)
Ok but it’s one and done. Not too expensive.
This was good but something feels missing. Most of the Portuguese wines were good but not all. Some dishes were really good. Others would be eggs and pork and you’re trying to find each ingredient in the dish. ServIce was good. It’s not a white tablecloth place. Not to expensive.
Highly recommended
A small plate restaurant that provided good, nicely presented food with terrific service. We had a great time and would highly recommend it.
10/10 food and exceptional staff
All round amazing. The food was incredible and the staff were flawless and knowledgeable. We went for a birthday lunch and had a wonderful time. The menu was varied and all plates were delicious without fail. The birthday ice cream surprise for my boyfriend’s 30th was very kind. He doesn’t often eat dessert but I didn’t get a look in on the mushroom ice-cream. Prado is enough reason for us to return to Lisbon.
Poor quality, slow service
Slow service, poor food. I would not recommend. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. None of the items were that good. Wine was Ok. My wife is gluten free and they plated her with the wrong items. Definitely not a quality restaurant.
Amazing experience, recommend tasting menu and service was faultless
We had the tasting menu (not with wine flight). They accommodated our seating request, our slight changes to the menu (I don’t eat raw meat and wasn’t keen on the pork fat) and as we progressed through the menu made little changes throughout so we both got the best experience. The wine waiter was knowledgeable but she wasn’t pushy and brought us a selection of wines at different price points. We settled on a wine from the Azores (the wine waiter had indeed visited the Azores). The main waiter was excellent- she knew her stuff and was enthusiastic and accommodating. A true professional. Even the guy who filled our water glasses was ever present but unobstrusive. Finally but definitely NOT least the food was amazing - the highlights were the Asparagus dish, the small plates of beef tartare, beef tartelette, sweet potato and squid, the acorn fed pork was divine but my absolute favourite was the Mushroom ice cream - I’m not a great dessert person so was absolutely blown away by this sweet but savoury end to the meal. Overall an amazing experience and I completely disagree with the poor reviews on here both about the service, food and value. This is a star restaurant and deserves its mention in the Michelin guide. I wish I had taken more photos of the food !!!
Sensory experience in a friendly and informal environment
Fantastic experience well above expectations. The environment is informal, the staff are very kind and helpful, the food is simply exceptional. Highly recommended!
Very nice, recommendable evening on the edge of Alfama
Modern ambience. Very nicely put together menu. Very good taste with a good wine accompaniment. Very good, attentive service. The only thing we found was a bit too loud, possibly due to the height of the room.
Great food … don’t go for wine pairings
We had the tasting menu. Food was really excellent. But don’t go for the matched wine pairings. Sommelier was trying too hard to be creative/original. Many of the wines were really not very enjoyable . I like a very wide range of wines and like to discover new wines - but I wld recommend you choose a nice bottle of Portuguese wine(s) instead.
Worst service ever
Worst service ever, more than 20 minutes of waiting, despite several insistences, none of the waiters even stopped to talk to me. Some foreigners arrived and were promptly attended to... I asked for the complaints book and they refused to give it... as I was with my family I went looking for a new restaurant and ended up leaving without complaining... of course I didn't have lunch there and I will never go back there... (first bad review I've given of a restaurant)
Prado restaurant is overrated.
The ambiance is average, the service is impeccable, the food is okay. Yes it has a Michelin star as for location and the hype that you just have reservations - walked in w no reservations and got seated. Looking at a wall, as it was the only table and the general manager was not polite in fact arrogant - I see she takes pride in her job but doesn't take note of patrons that just want a good meal and enjoy the company. Had the chefs menu (tuna belly was old tasted fishy and had a smell to it) ; the quail egg did not compliment the dish by itself if you're allergic to pork; no accommodations were made if you have allergies - quail egg w marron was bland and no flavor. the mushroom custard was the only thing on the menu worth raving about - however on overall chefs menu - the seasoning was either lacking or it was too much. The textures of the chicken w chicken flakes did not flow - it was too salty - and I ate a lot of bread to balance it out. Sadly I placed water to dilute the flavors of salt. I would not attend again as the general manager was not welcoming and had a chip on her shoulder - food is a hit or miss - some dishes are delicious while others lack seasoning or abundance of - clean place - servers knew their cuisine well and could explain all Ingredients that went into it - decor is okay (clean and looks modern but it's lacking energy for the price you pay- staff was stiff and had no personality ).... I'm happy I got a Chance to try it once. Service -10 Food-5 hit or miss on some dishes Ambiance - 6 Decor - 7 Noise - 4 (acoustics carry very loud in back room - much of white noise) Overall 6 Bathroom cleanliness - 10

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
