😒 3/5 - Great Food but the Service doesn’t match

The food is excellent and the setting is refreshing (a Michelin starred restaurant that reminds me of our bare bones pub in college). However, a few things about the service could be better. Our waiter (curly haired Italian) came by numerous times to ask if we would like wine. We started with 2 glasses of champagne and said we didn’t want to do the pairing because we didn’t want to drink much but he persisted nonetheless - most times asking if we wanted to order from the ‘premium’ list. As an example, a glass of their premium red is 45 euros, which doesn’t seem bad, until you realize that the pours are tiny. At the end of the meal, we were told that the tip was not included. I was surprised, and I said the reason was because all throughout Europe, in my experience, tipping was already factored into the total price. I asked him what was standard and he said 10-20%. He then proceeded to argue with me that this was common in all of Europe, including Italy and France. We had just come from Paris and this was not the case. I’ve traveled all through Europe and this is not the case. I tipped them 15%. I wrote to the restaurant over a week ago describing what had happened and there has been no response. It’s a pity because the food, as I mentioned is great.
