Nothing changes at Puglia except the year on the calendarโค๏ธ
Iโve been going to Puglia over the past 40 years, and it never disappoints. Whether with 20 friends for a birthday celebration or a business dinner to say thank you , everyone engages in this authentic Little Italy red sauce ristorante. When Jorge starts singing, the crowd goes wild! A five star ( and napkin waving ) experience.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy, NYC
Wonderful restaurant- great for celebrating birthdays. We were here celebrating my momโs and nephewโs bday. The live music (band and singer) was great and they really had everyone up and dancing. The food was scrumptious and they provided very generous portions. Guaranteed to have a great time if you come here!
Be the first to ReplyBest Time Ever & still shaking my napkin !!
I use to come here when I was working in NYC downtown. We always had the best time celebrating coworker birthdays. Fast forward 20 years and we came back with our kids and had the time of our lives . Be prepared for great food , loud music and an Extraordinary experience!!!
Be the first to ReplyHave a plan B or better still try another restaurant
Lots of prior confirmation etc for 11 people celebrating a birthday Placed in a room that was off the main part where we thought we would be which smelt bad Staff not interested nor the manager It wasnโt a hard decision to walk out !! Absolute pants !!!
Be the first to ReplyWatch out for waitress wanting more tip money.
First we had called here for a reservation about 2 months ago for my daughter's college graduation supper period they told us they were blocked both times. On the day that we are going for supper we walk down by pough hills just to see if there was any room sure enough there were tons room period and there was 12 of us and he said yeah no problem come on in. The waitress was kind of rusty she wanted appetizers and food all at once I guess she was wanting to get everything put together in one long time period. Food was great but service was lacking. Bus boys did most of the work waitress did not even come back to check on drinks for the table or ask if we want to dessert. The bill came and I paid for it no sooner did she take the billfold she came back and asked if service was good And the food was good. I told her things were great and then she would proceed to say that I did not give her enough tip money. She stated she lives on tips and the tip was not sufficient. I was taken back by her comment as I work in the service industry also and have never gone back to a client and said the tip was insufficient. For this reason I'm giving them a low rating due to the fact that waitress wasRequesting more money for a tip which should be up to the individual not the server to determine the tip.
Be the first to ReplyBe prepared for a rowdy environment
We were not prepared for how rowdy this restaurant was! Groups are seated at long tables right next to other groups, so you have to either make friends or really lean in to hear the members of your own group speak. We were right next to the 2-person band that played a 20-minute set at top volume, including (literally) a song when everyone was supposed to stand on their chairs and wave their napkins. The food itself was quite good: hearty portions, good flavors and textures. Our server was really surly with us. He walked off having taken a drink order for only 2 of 3 people in our group, and forgot to bring things we ordered twice. And he was not at all amused when we asked to have a table further from the music--it's ok that it wasn't possible to reseat us, but at least don't be angry we asked. So overall, the rowdy energy and surly waiter overshadowed the pretty good food.

Great food and lots of it! In the heart of Little Italy, NYC. On the cramped side-call it cozy. Delicious and fast. Lively staff.
Be the first to ReplyNeeds more flavor
Food needs more seasoning. It was really bland. Salad was very good. Music was nice but was a little too loud.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous group experience
Awesome group meal. We had 23 teens and 6 adults for a total of 29 people. The food was fabulous and the staff was great to everyone. We have a lot of fussy teens in the group and everyone LOVED it. For so many, it was their favorite meal the whole time in New York. I would bring a group here again.
Be the first to ReplyNot a great start but what an atmosphere
Not a great start as the waiter was a bit rude but from there on in it was fantastic. We sat with two couples from Philly who where great company and when the entertainment started it just added to the atmosphere. To be honest the food was good but the company and atmosphere created by the entertainment made our night. Definitely worth the visit if you are lucky enough to time it right.
Be the first to ReplyItalian in Little China
The place is in a busy area, full of people. a small place typical for Italian cuisine. You can enjoy pasta or Pizza mainly. Portions are good and prices are fair.
Be the first to ReplyGloriously Tacky
The food itself was solid. Chicken Parm was decent. Have had better and have had far worse. Not sure the food is worth the trip to Little Italy, but it was good. The atmosphere itself, however, was awesome. There was live music, specifically a couple playing a variety of tunes. It was gloriously tacky, like an SNL skit. Everyone had a great time and left with a smile on their faces.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, terrible service
Our last night in New York on a holiday we had waited for three years, our booking was accepted at 9pm but they couldnโt wait to get rid of us from the restaurant, it seemed like someone had accepted our booking and had made a mistake for doing so. The food ordered was not what came out to us, even though very nice food indeed, and while we were eating the food, the waiter came up three times to try to take the plates away, even though we had clearly not finished. When challenged about these issues, it was stated that they would decrease the service charge by 50% but then added on a credit card fee for using a Revolut card. We hadnโt occurred a few for using this card the previous two weeks in four states we had travelled.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely loud
If youโre into loud live music singing with some dancing & huge portions this is the place for you. Unfortunately it was incredibly busy and the service was incredibly slow. So much so that we saw at least 2 couples leave because they werenโt served. The food is good, the prices reasonable and if youโre in the right mood with the right group of people itโs worth a visit. If your looking for a quiet chilled meal this is not the place.
Be the first to ReplyOld school proper Italian food
We stopped into this restaurant after reading the reviews on here, we turned up without a reservation in the evening and they accommodated us with no fuss at all, the food was proper old school Italian and was fantastic.
They had a music act on of a couple that I can only describe as old lounge bar, they were so shockingly bad it was brilliant and it really made our night. Would definitely return here the next time we are in the big apple for sure.
Great Classic, Italian Food
Portions are very generous. The place is old-style Italian, very well prepared. The restaurant is not the nicest, but the food....
I had the fried calamari, garlic bread, chicken parm and marinara spaghetti. Also ordered the house wine. Everything was spectacular.
I have been told to go for the prix fixe which includes all you can eat drinks... unfortunately I was on a tight schedule and wasn't able to.
Be sure to make a reservation.
Great place.
Amazing food- worth the wait: Best Meal in NYC
I stopped in for lunch with a friend, the restaurant was busy (a good sign). We were seated quickly but waited a little bit to have our order taken. They have an amazing lunch special. Minestrone soup was delicious. I ordered Ravioli- the pasta was fresh, the sauce was unlike any Iโd had before, a rich tomato that tasted fresh like I had picked it from my childhood garden. The cheese had such a full flavor. Absolutely incredible. I would eat here again. The bread toasted perfectly.
Be the first to ReplyPoor service
Very rude, had called to make a reservation and was hung up on several times. Wasnโt very helpful at all
Be the first to Reply16th birthday celebration
We had a fabulous time. The food was much better than we expected overall and so plentiful.
Anderson the waiter was very attentive and helpful in making the evening fantastic. We would have loved to hear the music play a bit longer but when it did play it was super fun even for our young crowd. So many of our crowd can't wait to go back again.
Would expect better
Visited on the 29th of November
When we first walked in no one came to show us to a table. Once we were rushed to our table and the menu sort of just thrown down in front of us we sat for a good 10 mins before anyone arrived to take our order. We ordered for drinks a bottle of red wine when it arrived it was white wine, having told the waiter this he went and changed it.... but the red wine was freezing cold as if it had been in a freezer! Now Iโm no wine connoisseur but freezing cold red wine is not right. Our food donโt get me wrong was fine but being in little Italy I would have expected a little bit more homely feeling. We were rushed as there was a private party coming in at 3.30pm but there was no talk of this when coming in or we would have went elsewhere and to be fair there was no conversation from the staff at all. I was very reluctant to leave a tip but I didnโt want any hassle and just ate and left. We were also sat right in front of the front door the cold air coming from the door was horrible also. Before we left a couple entered the restaurant and the waiter was very cheeky and said to them in an annoyed tone when they asked for a table โ There is a SIGN on the doorโ while pointing making the couple look and feel stupid.
Food 5/10
Decore 4/10
Service being brutally honest 1/10
Wonderful experience
Live music, meal arrived quickly, and very good authentic Italian. Garlic bread was amazing. Loved Puglia
Be the first to ReplyGarlic Galore!
We were recommended here by a friend and Puglia did not disappoint. We sat down around 3:30 for "lupper". Not lunch / not supper. Our waiter appeared quickly with warm bread and took our beverage order. We shared the rice ball for an appy. Very tasty. I had the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe and my husband had the shrimp scampi. Garlic galore. Both dishes were very good. Only problem...no room for dessert. Guess we will have to make a return trip.
