Made me feel at home
Fantastic, authentic food. Really enjoyed the calamares fritos and the camarones. Great environment and friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyTasty Food with Cool Vibe
A couple of locals with knowledge of food and Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood recommended a small restaurant called Puro Ceviche Bar on Newbury St. They definitely steered us to right place. Peruvian influenced menu with many small plates to choose from. We shared an app and a generous portion of Paella. Both dishes were terrific. Service from our server Chrisbell was wonderful. She was so professional and friendly. Music and overall vibe of Puro made it a fun dinner out in Back Bay.
Be the first to ReplyTapas with a Peruvian Twist
Plump, briny local oysters. Tuna ceviche with a hint of creaminess from chopped avocado. Calamari in a light, toothsome batter. We were on a roll at Puro till the shrimp ceviche appeared, quite a bit sharper than expected without any succulence to undercut the bite. Still, we’d return for more of these attractively presented tapas with a Peruvian twist. Service is brisk and cheerful; the wine list offers plenty of choice by the glass. It can be hard to snag a table in Back Bay for a Friday night at prime dining hour. By phoning at 4, we secured Puro’s last indoor spot.

Food is very average, service is mediocre. Chips and guacamole is the best item. Didn’t try the ceviche though. Visited at about 8:00

Fantastic. We happened to come on Taco Tuesday so loaded up on tacos. They were all excellent, especially the chicken and fish. The calamari was tasty.
Be the first to ReplyUnexpected Gem
We arrived in Boston on a busy Saturday evening without dinner reservations and ended up finding this gem. The food was delicious
and the service was fantastic. It was also so well priced. If you end up going, I highly recommend the carne asada, patatas bravas and ceviche.
Great people watching
Puro is a great place to refresh and people watch. We had several appetizers, including the grilled peppers and pulpo (octopus) which were delicious. I had the rose sangria which was very refreshing and matched the food perfectly. We sat outside (in the shade!) which I'd highly recommend to watch the people and dogs go by.

Visited Puro for the first time last weekend and could not recommend more highly. Great street side seating in a wonderful section of Boston Back Bay. Rodi was a terrific host and made us immediately feel like regulars. Food was fresh and delicious. Mussels were fresh and tasty and served with broth we could not get enough of. Grilled octopus was some of the best I've ever had. The Cachapas were something new to all in my party and were a huge hit. A variety of tacos completed the meal and did not disappoint. We';; be back. Thanks!!
Be the first to ReplyPURO is a wonderful. Thank you Rodi!
PURO is the best restaurant in the Back Bay of Boston!! Such great service, such great food! The manager, Rodica, clearly provides great leadership in so many ways. Warm, personal, efficient service with absolutely delicious food for less than you would pay anywhere else. Her team (with a special shout out to Ignatius) consistently provides wonderful service and great food. We love PURO!
Be the first to ReplyNice Little Restaurant!
Enjoyed a few tacos here while visiting Boston. Prices were reasonable, however the small bottles of Coke/Diet Coke are more expensive than expected. Staff was very helpful and friendly!
Be the first to ReplyMaybe I like ceviches too
Maybe I like ceviches too much. Maybe it was the nice sunny day at Newbury street. But I loved my experience at puro bar. The whitefish ceviche was the best, calamari and octopus was not far behind. Nice blend of sweet and spicy tastes.
Be the first to ReplyA Light, Fresh Dinner
While walking past this place with our little fur baby, we spotted many diners eating outdoors, and therefore decided to check out the menu... Since it was already past 8 PM, and we were extremely tired after a long day of trying to unpack from our move a few days prior, we just wanted to pick up something light and simple... We opted to bring home the tuna ceviche, the bass with passion fruit ceviche, and the shrimp ceviche. We enjoyed them all, but the first two were our favorites... The shrimp was the largest of the portions, but for me, I didn’t really like that the shrimp were so big. I think our total was around $53, which is somewhat pricy for takeout, but it was very good and not at all heavy for a late night meal. However, for those who want a substantial dinner, only ordering 3 types of ceviche might not be enough... Oh, and BTW, on Tuesdays, if you dine in, Puro’s does $3 tacos, and we were also informed that they allow guests with dogs to dine outside at tables along the iron fence.

Our first night in Boston and we walked past this small bar / restaurant Puro. it was around 5.30pm and the place was full. We managed to get a table for 2 within 5 minutes and then experienced a wonderfull menu... highlighted by the best pisco sours we've experienced outside of Peru and Chile.
Service was great and the vibe was excellent. Highly recommended.
