really great udon! my favorite thing was the texture of the noodles. super bouncy and the soup was flavorful as well. i didn't like the texture of the crab tho it tasted very dry and almost grainy. we also ordered the chicken and gyoza appetizers which were great as well. it's a small place so not much seating area inside but it's cozy and has a nice vibe. good for a dinner date with a friend or parter and workers are attentive as well

We were in NYC for vacation and a local recommended that we try this restaurant. So glad she told us about it ahead of time so that I could get a reservation. This place was packed and even with a reservation you still had to wait a bit but so worth it. Between the four of us we tried various udon bowls and dishes. Everything was delicious and good service. I will definitely return on our next trip to NYC.
Udon and broth here is spectacular.
Simply delicious! Such a cute and quaint little spot. Def worth waiting 30 min in line for!

Hubs was feeling adventurous and walked to Raku to check out the wait time on a Sunday evening. He was quoted 30 minutes so I walked on over to him mid-way prior to us getting our table. We sat indoors which was quite the tight fit but it worked out. We ordered the following for starters: + Fried Chicken: these were a little spicy. Hubs quite enjoyed this + Pork Gyoza: basic but delicious For the main course, I ordered the Sansai which came with "mountain vegetables" and maitake mushroom tempura. The mushroom tempura was out of this world. It was super flavorful and meaty for what was a vegetable udon dish. I also ordered the Shrimp Tempura to eat on the side which was perfectly fried. It was a must have. The service was slightly non-existent. Once you order, the staff doesn't quite check up on you after unless you're flagging them down to get the check. Nonetheless, the meal was delightful.

Wonderful, especially if you're lucky enough to get a chance to sit outside. Like all downtown restaurants, there is a lot of noise but this isn't from the thumping "music ". The surfaces are hard and people are having a good time with lots of conversations. Outside is calm and the service is great.

Order 2 udon and 2 small dishes Udon is no brainier, go try them, can't go wrong with them The tempura is even better than the udon However, the fish liver is just tasteless. Not worth to try save your money and order one more tempura

Delicious udon in East Village! Came here for lunch with a party of 3 and we were seated right away at the outdoor patio. The service was quick and friendly! I ordered the Toriten Udon, which is a hot udon that comes with four good-sized pieces of fried chicken. The soup was light and refreshing! Definitely would be a good hangover meal after a long night out. The noodles had a nice bit to them and they give you a generous portion of them. I also liked there were some veggies included, which helped offset the heaviness of the noodles and chicken. All in all, a solid udon spot that I'd recommend!

Got the chance to try this cozy, small restaurant in East Village. The overall restaurant space is small so we had to wait 20-30 minutes to seat two people on a Thursday evening, so try to come here during off-peak hours! Overall the food is pretty decent, but very expensive and overpriced. The agedashi tofu was interesting and different but felt a bit overpriced for what it was. I tried one of their more popular dishes in the Niku Udon and though I will always enjoy a belly filled with warm broth, I wasn't as satisfied as I thought I would be. I feel like the dish could've had a bit more Udon and that the broth could have been spicier and more flavorful. The dish itself you're nearly paying $30 and I still was a little hungry afterwards. Still a decent experience overall, however.
Tremendous.
The broth in the vegetarian udon has outstanding depth & flavor. The noodles and chilli oil are fresh and delicious. I do wish the udon had more vegetables, but nonetheless 5 out of 5 stars, without question
I first came to Raku years ago and remembered it tasting
I first came to Raku years ago and remembered it tasting really good. We decided to check it out again since we were in the area and craving udon. There wasn't much of a wait and we didn't have a reservation either (though I'm not sure if they even take reservation's). The inside is pretty small with one bathroom. There's more outdoor seating than indoor seats. We were seated outside which was a little cramped and a little scary right by the road. Service was attentive and fast. We ordered the Niku udon and a duck udon. I enjoyed the Niku udon more. The soup flavor was light but flavorful and the udon noodles were chewy. I wonder if they make their own udon noodles because the shape is a little different, the ends flare out like a trapezoid. The Niku udon didn't have as much meat as I would've liked. The duck udon was even lighter. Oh, they give these frozen grapes as a little treat with your check. Overall: I remembered it being better. It was still good but I wasn't that impressed and I also felt like the prices are a little expensive. I do feel like the Niku udon is a little overpriced.
RAKU!
Raku is the Taylor Swift of Udon. The Andre Agassi of hangover food. The Denzel Washington of rainy-day meals. We came on a day were it was a torrential downpour, one of those days where you can't get a noodle soup-like dish off of the mind. My thought process was that since it was raining so violently, that there would be no wait. I was half right, as the wait was only 5 minutes at 1pm on a Saturday. We sat in the beautiful outdoor space that is fully covered, and I swear to the good lord Jesus Christ it is made for the rain. There's no better place to watch the rain attack through glass panes while feeling fully safe and covered, knowing a bowl of noodles is on the way. A spiritual phenomenon really. We ordered the fried chicken, pork dumplings, deep fried eggplant, and the niku(beef short rib) udon with chili oil. I was expecting nothing from the fried eggplant (wasn't my choice), but it really blew me away. Breakout player of the year performance from the fried eggplant. The MVP was obviously the niku udon, as it quite literally cured my hangover (along with a joint and a nap). The broth was perfect. The noodles were electric. The short rib was eclectic. Tried to find something to rhyme with "electric" there but it didn't really work, but the short rib was sensational. I can't emphasize enough how ELITE this ambiance was for a rainy day. I swear only the Japanese could pull this off. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
