Restaurant Kei Paris Reviews
Imaginative cooking
The cuisine is absolutely three star level. The service is a small step less. Imaginative and explorative cooking. Michelin uses the word raffinée which describes it well. Chef Kei Kobayashi has created something exeptional on the top leveol of Paris dining.
Food poisoning - avoid!
This was my 40th Michelin star restaurant and I can safely say it was the worst! The food was mediocre at best and at worse food poisoning inducing. Hubby and I had the tasting lunch menu (€260pp) and he opted to swap the main for Waygu, for an additional cost. Being a pescatarian, I had an asparagus main, which I kid you not was nothing more than grilled white asparagus with black pepper and a tarragon béarnaise. It was so basic and over peppered that I didn’t eat it. I was offered a replacement of John Dory fillet glazed in red miso with steam broccoli - a dish that even someone with minimal cooking skills could whip up. I think it was this dish that cause my horrendous vomiting. The tiny redemption was the desserts which were a pleasant surprise, probably because I had lost all hope of decent food by that course. The service and food was nothing worthy of a Michelin star let alone three. Don’t let the pictures fool you - it was style over substance. Save your money and your stomachs and head for the Four Seasons…in particular L’Orangerie.

Delicious
The food itself seems like art. The attention to details in the presentation was amazing. The food and drinks are delicious.
Fantastic restaurant
Fantastic restaurant with creative menu. The wagyu supplement was really good. Also enjoyed the langoustine and caviar. The sommelier was great as was the wine pairings.

In the labyrinthine lanes of Paris, there exists a culinary sanctuary that goes by the name Kei - a Michelin 3-star gem that doesn't just dazzle; it orchestrates a symphony for the senses. Stepping into Kei is like unraveling a secret. The entrance, subtle yet deliberate, gives way to a dining room adorned with mirrors that reflect not just the opulent decor but the essence of an extraordinary dining experience. The Prestige menu at Kei is a masterclass in gastronomic finesse. We opted for the black truffle add-ons, a decision that elevated the meal into a realm of unparalleled decadence. Black truffles on dessert may sound audacious, but in the hands of Kei's culinary wizards, it was nothing short of alchemy. The flavors danced on the palate, leaving an indelible mark of sophistication. A serendipitous encounter unfolded when our server, a maestro in his own right, procured a wild pigeon protein course for us. The dish was a revelation, a testament to Kei's commitment to sourcing exceptional ingredients and transforming them into culinary poetry. Service at Kei is not just about efficiency; it's a friendly embrace that makes you feel like a cherished guest. The staff's warmth is as impeccable as the precision in each dish. In the realm of Michelin-starred dining, Kei stands tall, not just for its gastronomic prowess but for the genuine hospitality that infuses every moment. Jonathan Gold once said, "Good food is very often, even most often, simple food." Kei challenges this notion by demonstrating that extraordinary food can be both complex and deeply satisfying. An evening at Kei is not just a meal; it's a voyage into the sublime, a testament to the harmonious marriage of culinary artistry and heartfelt service.
Three Michelin Stars in Paris / Kei||| A friend recommended
Three Michelin Stars in Paris / Kei||| A friend recommended this three Michelin star restaurant before my family and I left! Kei restaurant opened in 2011 and has gone from one to three stars. The Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi is very young and is said to be the first Japanese chef in France to receive three Michelin stars. Very tasty and recommended!
The chefs are like artists.
Beautiful presentation of amazing tasting food. The restaurant decor is wonderful too.
