Horrible service
In November I made a reservation for Valentine's Day and I got confirmation straight away. However, a week before reservation date they sent an information that on Valentine's Day there will be only special menu in completely different price (twice as expensive as usual). They could publish the special menu before or at least inform they are prepering it and the price will be completely different. But they just don't care about clients as they know it's impossible to book a table somewhere else just week before Valentine's Day.

Me and my life visited restaurant Louis on 25 August. We reserved table at 7.30 Pm.We arrived at 7.20 and had to wait next 10 minutes to be allowed to enter.Inside quite small space and pretty hot.Because of Michelin star our expactationes were high.Food:starters interesting but without wow effect.Next came tomatoes varations:gaspacho, tomato sorbet:not tasty, without nicety ,sour.Next dish girrolles mushroom ragout with smoked eel:taste as above mushroom with dominated sour taste, small piece of eel ok.Now came cod fish with bernaise sauce- guess taste :yes to much vinegar in sauce, sour again. And now dish of the day beef Limousine in butter soya sauce.I tried to cut but beef was Simply hard as shoe sole.Luckily sauce was not sour,it was only salty. At this point We finished our adventure giving plates back to kitchen.Michelin star lesson in restaurant Louis costed 220 eu.

Where do I begin … this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time ! The service was extremely friendly and inviting, the food was so so so creative and magical! The flavor combinations are so unique. Quite honestly.. I never understood when people get emotional over food but I literally shed a tear while eating the fish and I’m not really a big fish eater. There was always at least one unique element in every dish that pleasantly surprised us and we looked forward to each dish like a child waiting to open presents on Christmas Eve. I feel like I should have paid more .. it was so worth it… the ingredients and flavor combinations were so high quality and so fresh. Chef Louis and his team deserve all the recognition and I genuinely wish them to become even more successful because it was just such a wonderful place. I wish I lived in Paris now because I would eat there every week if I could. If you are in town even for just a few days, book a rsvp to this restaurant because you will not regret it. I am so happy. Merci. Thank you.

We were lucky to find the last available table here without a forward reservation. Wow… The food, the service and theatre around this meal was a fabulous experience & one we’ll not forget. We took 9 courses, all exceptionally crafted with passion and flair. Amazing ! Thank you
Be the first to ReplyFantastic hidden gem of a Michelin star
Paris has quite a few one Michelin Star restaurants, and among those, are quite a few disappointments, and every now and then, there are absolutely fantastic experiences that remind you what Michelin stars can do. Louis was one of those.
The restaurant is discreetly located in a nice, ordinary neighbourhood, and has small, close together tables typical of the new bistromic style. This means you can eavesdrop on your neighbours, but it isn't overwhelmingly loud either. Our table was ready as per our booking and we were served promptly.
We went for the 9 course tasting menu that was inventive, subtle, but also completely delicious and not too weird. My partner was very pleased that foie gras appeared twice in the menu in particular. While I really enjoyed all the courses, the cheese course was wonderfully done especially. The only issue with the evening was the chocolate dessert which was simply too rich for me. I suppose the trick was to go when there were more fruits available for desserts.
For 9 courses in Paris, the price was excellent.
We really, really enjoyed our meal, and do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to everyone we know.
WORTH THE EXPERIENCE
I visited Paris for a few days, and with this newly rated Michelin star, it was on my list. Coming from living in NYC experiencing every sort of Michelin restaurant NYC offers, it was interesting to see how they compete. I must say, it was met with expectations. The space is small but very limited in tables. I would say they serve 20 people at dinner. I went to try their seven-course menu. Every course was delicate, precise, and compelling to each flavor profile. The hostess waitress were all attentive in serving their guests. I would do say that since they are a small restaurant with one hostess, it could take a while to get their attention as they are serving/helping other guests, which isn't a huge gripe. I would come back when I visit Paris again.
Be the first to ReplyLa Cuisine Francaise!
You come to France and Paris for any number of very good reasons. The most beautiful city in the world, for one, and for two, because the French do things with food that nobody else in the world can do. Louis is a place of discovery, of tastes, textures, techniques, presentation and service. It is an adventure where you blindly trust your hosts, and leave at the end of your evening richer (not poorer) for having experienced something quite unique and something you will find nowhere else, as the Chef Stephane Pitre is unique!
