My Fav Italian
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in NY! I am a foody and very well versed in Italian food in Italy. This was my 5th time there 1 of the only places I can close my eyes that everything will be delicious and on point. It was my birthday and the whole staff signed a card. Card or not, this restaurant never slightly disappoints me.I love it so much, I rave about it to anyone visiting NY which is rare coming from me.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Italian food.
(We actually visited in May 2022 but I am late with the review). We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant- it was more comparable to Italian restaurants back in the UK without a Michelin star, but it was still very nice. We noticed that lots of people in NYC are on their phones at lot while eating which does detract a bit from the atmosphere.

Amazing Italian. One of the best pasta spots in town. Every dish was on point and the dessert was bomb too. Gets difficult to book dinner but lunch is much easier. Highly highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyIt’s a con!!!!
Cold, salty, awful food. Tiny portions. 1 prawn in the whole dish which was around $30. Staff were rude. Loud rap music being played. The worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. What a joke.
Be the first to ReplySuper fabulous!
I was so thrilled to snag a reservation here for a quick new york trip! i had to book it a month in advance, but it was well worth taking the time to do. when the day finally arrived we were early for our 8pm dinner. the hostess took our coats and offered us a cocktail, and then we were subsequently brought upstairs to a cozy table in the corner. our server, sommelier, and really the entire staff were knowledgeable, warm and friendly. i knew we wanted to do the pasta tasting menu, and the server suggested we order salads to go with that. we also chose a fabulous bottle of red wine to accompany our meal. everything was SO wonderful. the pasta was fantastic, and every course was different. portions weren't huge, but after also getting gelato and cappuccinos we were completed sated by the end. my only wish is that we had been given a menu to know what we were eating! when the courses were delivered we were told what they were, but it would have been nice to be able to anticipate what was coming and revert back to the list as needed. i loved it here so much. it was exactly what i was looking for. highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
This was such a disappointing experience. I set an alarm two nights to make sure to get a reservation as this restaurant seems to be all the rage in NYC. We found nothing special here from the service to the food. This is one of those it’s all squeeze and no juice places that everyone wants into because everyone wants to eat here. Skip it. It was not worth the hype for us. We love Crown Shy if you want a really fabulous experience…food, cocktails, wine and especially service.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Italian
We came for lunch. Four adults. We had the prochiuto gnocchi which is a puffed gnocchi with a prosciutto on top. Was great a wondeful salad and bread with amazing olive oil. Then 4 pasta dishes all were very good and ended with olive oil cake and tiramisu (had to…). All was great. Highly recommended

Really busy and vibrant restaurant. We were seated at the back of the restaurant which at first I thought might be a little bit out of the main thrust but not so. Felt the vibe of the restaurant including a great music soundtrack. Little cramped on the tiny table but nothing to worry about. Smallish menu but all excellent. We loaded up on the starter plates and shared followed by a pasta course each. Didn’t need mains. Pasta was outstanding. Sensible portion sizes too. Service excellent throughout. Really excellent modern Italian experience.
Be the first to ReplyGluten Free Pasta!!
I went to Rezdora two times, once in February and once in March and both times for lunch because it was easier to get a reservation. The place was packed. The restaurant is not big and has two different seating areas. One is across the Bar, and the other is in the back. The menu is small, 7-8 appetizers, two salads, 7-8 pastas, a meat, and a fish and some vegetable sides. The reviews of this restaurant are either bad or amazing. There are several things that are amazing and some areas need work. First let's say that the chef is extremely talented and the pasta is excellent, specially the gluten free pasta. Very few restaurants do gluten free pasta from scratch. Rezdora does it and it is excellent. The Cacio e pepe salad is the reason I went back the second time. Its my favorite at the restaurant. While the food is excellent, the service is mediocre. The waiter rushed us to make our decision, asked to take the drink order. We told him we wanted wine and needed to talk to the sommelier. Needless to say , our appetizers came and we were still waiting for the sommelier. I had to ask three times before we got someone who recommended an excellent Barolo. She really knew her wines. The service was rushed, as if they wanted us to eat quickly and leave. What they need to understand is food with this quality needs to be enjoyed, not gulped. Overall I will go back for the gluten free pasta and the cacio e pepe salad. They need to work on the service/ hospitality aspect of the restaurant otherwise they will lose customers. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.
Be the first to ReplyDinner Can Be Delicious and Terrible at The Same Time
The food is truly delicious. Everything is fresh and made to order. The prices are a bit high for pasta but you can't beat the quality. We will never go back. After reserving a fair amount of time in advance we were seated in the bar area. This is not a gigantic space and we would not have minded being seated there except the loud music blaring in our ears from speakers every few inches above our heads made it impossible to hear anything: the descriptions of the dishes and each other. It was, to quote Christopher Guest in This is Spinal Tap, an 11. It was at the level of a dance club. We complained and it was lowered--barely. We looked enviously at the diners in a separate, far more quiet room in the back. We didn't know about that option. Where we were seated felt like it was reserved for walk-ins. Beyond upsetting. If you go, request that back room. Or save your eardrums and eat elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyBad experience
Terrible experience!!! You need a dictionary to understand the menu. Food is mediocre at best. Took an hour to get bread and few cubes of cheese. Blasting old rock music in an Italian restaurant. Apparently the chef thinks he is a DJ.
Be the first to ReplyTasting menu was disappointing- same dish three times
As a huge foodie, I came to try the tasting menu after many many rave reviews on the internet. The tasting menu was a disappointment. Although the pasta was fine, the menu served the same dish three times (pork shoulder, mortadella and prosciutto) but as ravioli, tortellini and linguine. This is a massive cheat especially when the menu doesn’t disclose what the tasting menu entails. If I wanted that dish, I would have ordered it full size rather than having it packaged three different ways. There was no seafood option and so overall this was very disappointing. A tasting menu is supposed to showcase a variety of dishes, not serve the same thing again and again! The table next to me also had to send pasta back from the main menu as it was inedible.
Be the first to ReplyA bad service in a nice place
This restaurant was a box of surprises, but unfortunately not for the best reasons. Expectations were few, within what is expected of a 1* Michelin rating and the price of the menu, however, they were defrauded. The restaurant is full, hectic, nothing like what is considered 'fine dining' in Europe, but the fact that it is relaxed is a plus point for those who want a carefree meal without regard to etiquette. If what you are looking for is a place to have a romantic dinner and a bit of silence, you will not find it here, as there is so much noise that you can barely hear your partner, the tables are very close to each other and the staff themselves talk a lot high, resulting from general noise. We were very disappointed by the way we saw that customers were treated, we thought it would be just us, but we realized that the attitude was also for the other tables. They gave us the menu, a lot of pressure for us to quickly choose the dishes, then when we asked our questions about the ingredients, the young man who served us responded as if it were a crime that we had ordered 3 starters and 2 main courses, as if we weren't to consume enough for him, even going so far as to say that the restaurant recommended 3 to 4 starters and 3 to 4 main dishes and that if we regretted that selection that the kitchen would not be able to take our order again, as they were a very popular restaurant and according to him “very busy”. The 3 starters we ordered arrived and while we were enjoying them, another employee arrived to ask if he could bring the main course, as it was already waiting to come out in the kitchen. What? A Michelin star restaurant telling the customer that the food was ready and waiting for the customer? I've never seen anything like it. I replied no, that I wasn't going to rush the entrance and that they should wait... for the result? Food arrived lukewarm at the table. The waiter constantly with a bad face, harsh but pretending to smile asking if we didn't want anything else. An experience not to be repeated. A lot of pressure for the bill to be as high as possible, we think, hoping for a good % tip. It was not worth what we paid, a positive note for the employee who served the wine, who was friendly and for the space itself, which is beautiful and intimate. What? One of the most unique and delicious Italian meals I’ve ever had. Had the pasta tasting menu. The portions aren’t huge but that’s because every bite is a work of art, which is not the case when eating a bowl of pasta and red sauce at a normal restaurant. There’s clearly hours if not days of technique that go into these meals, which explains the cost. Also, while the portions aren’t huge, they’re sufficiently rich - so you won’t leave hungry. Some say the food is too salty. The chicken soup was salty, but it came from the Parmesan in the dish, not because a chef shook the shaker too hard. I happen to love salty food though, so I loved it.
Be the first to ReplyThird Trip a Charm
This is my third trip to Rezdora. My first visit was similar to the last. The one in between was a bit of a disaster, but it was early Covid and we were eating on the street. Service was terrible and the food nothing special. That has all changed. The Burrata with proscutto di parma was excellent. Paper thin slices of lean proschutto (not a trace of fat) with a wonderful burrata. It is the stuff of dreams. An excellent Sformatino de Scarola for antipasti. You can skip the Fett'unita (toasted bread). It seemed like day old, toasted bread that masked any taste of the olive oil. The Gramigna Giallo e Verde was also outstanding. Pasta with fennel sausage that was perfect. There was also a nice Tile Fish and Crostata do Sanguinella (blood orange and lemon tart). Cocktails were well done including the refreshing Hugo and the excellently prepared Boulevardier. Service was attentive and helpful. One nit, the music was loud and a bit annoying. Not exactly soothing dinner music, at least not what Spotify would choose.
Be the first to ReplySeverely Overrated!
After trying for 5 months, we finally were able to get a reservation at Rezdora. The entire evening was a disaster. It took 30 minutes to get our drink order and over 90 minutes to get our pasta dishes. All of the pasta was cold and so salty it was difficult to eat. No one checked in our meal and then it took almost 30 more minutes to get the check. I would never return…. Stay away as this is a tourist trap.

Food and wine paring was magnificent, Anthony our waiter was a beauty! Prob the best feed ever with service that matched. Keep up the great work
Be the first to ReplyDelightfully delicious with excellent service.
Delightfully delicious and unique. We truly enjoyed the Italian buns with smoked meats, verde pasta, and steak & eggs brunch dishes. We came here after the feature on The Dish. It did not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyA very disappointing experience.
I had read and been told that Rezdora was one of the best new restaurants for pasta in NYC. I had been looking forward to it for years, and my closest friend and I made it our choice for an annual special restaurant tradition. We got 2 salads and the pasta tasting. Mistake? Should we have ordered a la carte? Out of 5 pasta dishes, only the Bolognese was smile worthy. Every other dish had us very confused. Extremely undercooked pasta in preparations that had no depth and way too much salt. I love al dente pasta and I love salt, but this was something else. Did nobody taste this stuff before it left the kitchen? I have never had such a gap between expectations and reality at a nyc restaurant before. There were a few service glitches, and the energy and robotic descriptions by the staff seemed to say, “We know. We are not into this either.”
Be the first to ReplyInteresting food and superb service
We all found some of the dishes we ordered too rich. When you have a rich appetizer followed by a rich entree, the palate doesn’t truly appreciate it. I loved my single egg ravioli with black truffles. My dessert of meringue with pistachio and strawberries was good, too. The waiter was excellent. The music was far too loud, but was turned down when we requested.
Be the first to ReplyBIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT REZDORA
It was a very special evening planned at Rezdora. It was my wife's birthday and we had reserved Rezdora for quite some time. We had read so many excellent reviews and checked out the beautiful menu photos on their website. So, we had the highest of expectations. It was also really close to our hotel and since it was our first day of this Manhattan trip, we could have a relaxing time. When you have such high expectations, it's disappointing when some things are not perfect. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host and our server took us to a nice table at the end. It was a nice quiet table and uncrowded, charming spot. We started with 2 glasses of sparkling Felsina prosecco to start the evening. Our server was very good, so no complaints there. Where it starts to turn less than perfect is the menu. On the one hand, I LOVED my selections of Taglioni al ragu, Grandmother Emilia walking thru the forest, You can find their photos on the Rezdora main website. I should also say that we both liked our starter "pillows of onion puree and rosemary power. However, my wife was disappointed with her selections: Cacio e Pepe in Emilia, Spigola Nera (black bass w white polenta sauce base). I think it's just a matter of taste. We also agreed that the Fett' unta (toasted garlic bread) was the best we've had. We finished with a great Gelato Fatti in Casa (pistachio). In addition, since we were celebrating, we were served with two very nice chocolate bon bons. So, I was a happy camper and my wife was disappointed. It would have been better if we both had perfect meals on this night. Overall though, I'm not sure it really lives up to all the hype one reads.
Be the first to ReplyTop notch food, great service and a wonderful buzz
I went for dinner with my daughter in late May 2022. Was an excellent experience in all respects... I loved the buzz of a busy and happening restaurant in a relatively small space. The service was very good and the food was excellent and faultless... We both ordered the Uovo Nino... I found it unique and have never tasted anything like it previously. Highly recommended! We also enjoyed the Fett'unta bread. Our cocktails were also superb... We had the Hugo and the Alpine Sour. A memorable experience which I hope to repeat in the future.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice meal - olive oil dessert - fantastic - who knew?!
We got reservations for Rezdora early in the evening and were seated right away. It's a long narrow restaurant inside but pleasantly decorated. Our server was properly attentive without being overbearing. The best: the olive oil dessert - such a strange thought for an ice cream. We could most definitely taste the olive oil but it was excellent. We tried a sampling of pastas and all agreed that the strozzapeti (may have been a special) was the favorite by all three of us. I'm a sucker for some cippolini onions and they were also delicious as a side. The not the best: The sirloin was good, just not jaw dropping. The fett'unta that is supposed to be a toasted bread accompaniment was the only thing I found disappointing. It's basically toasted garlic and butter bread that you'd find at most Italian mom and pop corner restaurants. I think I wanted a little more here. But their pasta was perfectly cooked - al dente and chewy (in a good way) and our server worked hard to get us out on time for a show despite us ordering multiple things. Very happy with our visit overall.
Be the first to ReplySOOOOO BAD!!!!
Way over priced, service very very bad and slow and the food just OK. Tortellini with mortadella inside??? shame on you! That is NOT how you make them. Nothing to deal with michelin experience DON'T GO
Be the first to ReplyRich and delicious meal
Snagged a last minute reservation at Rezdora. Enjoyed the Parm tasting, stracciatella , the "grandmother' mushroom pasta, ragu, and the sirloin steak. The staff recommended 3 dishes per person. We each had an appetizer and pasta and then split the steak. Glad we did this as the food was very rich. The service was spot on and the somm recommended a great wine to complement the meal.
