There is a reason that Riverhorse is considered to be the best restaurant in Park City and that is because they hit all the marks. Great food, great service and a nice ambiance. We dined in the main room last night. It was an early dinner and the room was packed halfway through the meal. Looking around I would guess that we were the only locals eating (with friends from out of town) there. Their wine list is short but good and we selected a Daou Cabernet Sauvignon which was actually on-tap and was reasonably priced for Utah. We started the evening with an amuse bouche of burrata, and mint with micro greens served on a tasty cracker. As always you were left wanting for more. Apps consisted of Pieroges (stuffed with gruyere, creme fraiche and onions) that were fried to a beautiful color and tasted incredible. Bacon wrapped shrimp (mexican shrimp with bacon and creme cheese stuffed jalapeños) and a burrata salad which was mouthwateringly delicious. The couple we were with split their signature dish, Alaskan halibut in a macadamia nut crust served with herbed whipped potatoes, mango, broccolini with a lemon emulsion sauce which was like eating liquid velvet it was so smooth and rich. My wife had the mountain trout which was cooked with a pistachio crust and served with a pistachio tuille, baby carrots (smoked perfectly) and a pomegranate-fennel salsa. The dish was served on an overly generous bed of forbidden rice. I had the 10 ounce bone in filet served with a miso mustard glaze, rosti potatoes and soy ginger glazed brussels sprouts. The latter provided the only discordant note of the evening as the were (to me) undercooked) and the stems were not removed. I ended up eating all of the charred leaves, which had best flavor and leaving the center and stems on the plate. We left, pleasantly sated and as always, looking forward to our next meal there. Pro tip - if you can't into the restaurant (not that hard in the off season) drop into the bar which offers up the full menu and is a very pleasant place to dine in its own right.

Terrible service it is our first time here and we have a stroller with us, we asked to be seated on the outside due to needing more space to place it, the host replied with a big sigh and looked bothered that we even asked- when going to place our order an employee started taking my order and the baby I had dropped my paper when I got up from grabbing it to continue the person was just texting on his phone and didn't even acknowledged what I had said, I then proceeded to just order with the next perso

This place was pretty spectacular but you do have to make reservations two months in advance (the earliest you can book). That being said, we had an 8:30pm reservation but called the day of and were able to move it to 7:30, which was ideal. Our server was lovely and the pace of dining was not rushed. We sampled all of the fish entrees which were all delicious. We barely saved room for dessert but of course tried a few which were a lovely end to our night. This place is a splurge but it it totally worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThis place lives up to the hype, for sure.
Again, all pricing on Main street is obscene, so be ready for that. Cocktails here are fine. We are not huge wine people, but that is probably the move here. The lobster bisque is truly magical. You have to order this if you come to Riverhorse. We ordered this and the buffalo tartare. They split the bisque into two presentations for us. Very classy and it was delicious. The buffalo tartare was one of the best (if not the best) we have every had. And we are big tartare enthusiasts. For the mains, we shared the crusted halibut and the veal shank. There was a lot of chatter about the halibut on Yelp, but this was a let down. The fish itself was a bit dry and the potatoes had some intense lemon flavor that was tasty, but felt strange on the plate. I also did not understand the purpose of the mango sauce. The veal shank was AMAZING. It was juicy and tender and came with the most delicious truffle cream sauce. On the side was an artichoke with pesto pasta on top. A strange presentation choice, but the artichoke was delicious and the pesto was very good. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked, but it didn't take much away from the dish. We had a chocolate cake for dessert (a gift from the kitchen for our anniversary) that was just fine. I wouldn't judge it to harshly since it wasn't a menu item. I would be very excited to come back to this establishment. The service was amazing throughout the meal. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating.

We had reservations for 9 which they took a credit card number.. one of our party had a ski accident fractured pelvis in which 5 of our party were at the hospital with her. We called the restaurant to cancel to get no answer so we left a message. We finally got through to get the third degree and were told that we needed to have the other four come to sit dinner and they would not charge us the 900 (100 per head ).. We arrived and ate our meal.. The food was fine as was the service.. the 100 dollar fee for a bottle of bonanza Cabernet was outrageous as well as the 23% charge on meal and drinks.. needless to say we left paying close to 350 per couple and felt fleeced... We will not return nor would we recommend.. Lastly, atmosphere not special.. they sat us near the kitchen and the room was more like an upgraded cafeteria than a high class steak place..

She took care of everything and we appreciated her hospitality.

We've been coming here for over 20 years and it's still our favorite. The food is the best of Park City. Love their steak and fish dishes. Had the trout tonight and it was fabulous. Their live music and ambiance are a nice touch. It's more upscale but you can still dress casual and kids are welcomed. My kids enjoyed the filet mignon. Super good! We've had excellent service but tonight it was not 5 stars and I worry they've gotten too popular to try as much. Rooms for improvement: when part of your party isn't seated together, it would be better service to walk the other part to the table when they arrive rather than just telling them where to walk. Wine could be poured throughout dinner service. We poured our own. Otherwise, our server was friendly and kind and most importantly, the food was hot, beautiful presentation and delicious. Book as far in advance as you can!!
Be the first to ReplyThe absolute best meal we had in PC hands down.
The experience from start to finish was white glove. Reservations are a must - and I'd book as close to ~60 days out as you can (when the window opens). As a group, we loved our filets and the veal chop. Everything was so delicious. Worth every penny.
Be the first to ReplySuch an outstanding experience.
The staff was attentive. The food was top notch. The interior space was gorgeous. They were absolutely attentive to dietary restrictions. I can't recommend this place enough.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a confirmed reservation from The Montage tonight
We had a confirmed reservation from The Montage tonight that the restaurant refused to honor. We showed our itinerary from the concierge but the host said only the Resy confirmation would work. Management should know the male host was hostile and rude instead of kindly saying it was a miscommunication and our table had been given away. No idea why this guy came at us with anger instead of understanding. We were calm and honestly just confused by the whole situation. We made this reservation months ago and had been looking forward to it, but this situation left a terrible impression.

We had a wonderful experience at Riverhorse! It's right on Main Street, with a great view overlooking the street and mountains.Service was exceptional--kind, attentive, and gave great recs! The meal started with a lobster pot pie amuse-Bouche that was a great treat. We then ordered the Buffalo tartare and the curried cauliflower. The cauliflower was very good but the tartare was exceptional! Can't recommend it highly enough.I ordered the burrata salad for a meal and it was one of the best salads I've had! Had delicious candied kumquats on top. Great mix of sweet and creamy. The trout was also very good! A bit under salted but perfectly cooked. We had espresso martinis for dessert which were sooooo good. It's truly an experience, perfect for a special occasion.

If you are the best restaurant around, and yet you try every night to be better, friendlier, more hospitable, and earnest, while serving great food and singing featuring jazz singing with piano, then you deserve five stars and more!

Took forever to seat us and then tried to stick us in a dark back room. No thank you

Family thoroughly enjoyed our time together at Riverhorse.

We had a large group of about 30+ upstairs overlooking the street with a pianist playing live music. The room was beautiful, the staff was fantastic. Although we had a fixed menu everything was wonderful. We had tuna tartare, parmigiana chicken bites, crab cake and risotto as appetizers. I selected the lamb chops for my meal and they couldn't have been better, my wife got the spinach and cheese stuffed chicken breast which was also delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the full menu
Be the first to ReplyHoly crap.
If you are a real life human being, you are required to stop here when you are in town and have a gourmet meal. These people are absolutely incredible. If you are looking for a gluten-free item, they will bend over backwards to help you. This is my new favorite place.
Be the first to ReplyBest food ever, tastes so amazing it will blow your mind.
Even the butter is next level butter. They don't cut corners, everything I'm done perfectly and tastes out of this world. Amazing service, your glass never hits half empty, and friendliest Wait staff ever. The Ambiance is calm fun and beautiful all at once, you don't feel the formal stanch but it's a very welcoming luxurious place. 100% recommendations for any special occasion, even if u have to make one up.

Eh.. if the hosts were nicer this would be 5 star. Otherwise, wonderful food and great servers. For some reason most of the places in park city are guarded by some horrible trolls at the doors. Let's fix this guys!

Had a fantastic meal here for my partner's birthday! The staff was incredibly attentive to detail and superbly kind. Portions of the restaurant can be a tad bit chilly, so you may want to make sure you have sufficient layers. The trout was a standout to me, wine list was fantastic and the ambiance was great thanks to the live music in the background. You'll definitely want to get a reservation in advance but this mainstay is a mainstay for a reason; enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyAttentive service and a promising start with the lobster
Attentive service and a promising start with the lobster bisque and bread with unique butter! But the shrimp were definitely overpriced, and the famous halibut was disappointing; it came to my table late, the broccolini were room temperature and not tender at all, and the fish was more a cube of mush than a filet of fish with not enough macadamia encrusting the top to keep it interesting. One of my cocktails had a speck of something in it but I told nobody because I had already had most of it by the time I noticed. Plus the entree took a very long time to make its way to me. A beautiful restaurant but a disappointing experience for the price of entry...a real shame.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is absolutely phenomenal.
Upscale atmosphere right in the heart of Park City. We loved our food and devoured as much of it as we could! The couple next to us said it was the best fish they had *ever* had and they were very well traveled. We are also well traveled and this is definitely some of the best food, and the best fish we've ever had too. Unfortunately, the one thing that put a damper on our meal was the service. We arrived 15 minutes late, but we called and explained that we were having troubles finding the restaurant. When we found it, without even looking up at us, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. When we gave her our name, she frankly quite rudely looked up and said our reservation was for 15 minutes ago. We told her we called ahead to say we were lost, and she said to hold on and stand by the wall. A minute later a waitress brought us to our table who was so much nicer and more welcoming, but it made us nervous for the rest of our night! Our waiter was very professional, but never once smiled. Is this in their training? We didn't feel very welcomed here. They also almost served us the wrong food, and switched our orders by giving us opposite cutlery and main dishes from one another. None of it was a huge deal that broke our experience, but it certainly put a damper on an otherwise wonderful evening. The food here is locally sourced and fresh. Everything from the potstickers to the bread to the main courses were phenomenal. Without hesitation we give this food a 5/5! The dessert was good but didn't blow us away like the entrees did. The celebration cupcake only came out after we ordered a dessert. The restroom was clean and well kept. You have to park a ways a way and walk a block or two to get to the restaurant, so plan ahead for that walking time or the hostess might get mad at you too! ;) Maybe it was just an off night for service, but the food here speaks for itself.
Be the first to ReplyVery upscale - service was great.
Food was good but nothing outstanding. Very noisy - piano player was a nice touch and helped to drown out some of the noise.

This is by far the best spot in Park City , enjoyed the watermelon salad , the wild game trio and a pear and arugula salad followed by the tiramisu. We sat in the bar and had impeccable service , paired each dish with an IPA beer , Maccmurray ranch Pinot Noir and an espresso martini with the tiramisu dessert . The watermelon salad is by far the best I've ever had , fresh , juicy with burrata cheese & pistachio perfection. The game trio of Elk , Bison and venison was absolutely superb, each accoutrement paired perfectly, white and green asparagus, cheese grits and sauces that made it mouth watering! Also , enjoyed the pear , arugula salad with dates ... fabulous as well .... Lastly finished up dinner with the tiramisu & an espresso martini... I will be looking back fondly on this meal for some time ! Well done Riverhorse .
Be the first to ReplyThis is a beautiful restaurant in Park City.
We visited with family earlier this summer and had a wonderful evening. They have a great by the bottle wine list, by the glass was pretty limited for what we like. We are Napa Cab and bold red blend lovers(my husband didn't used to be but boy has he converted!) We ordered a bottle of Silver Oak and Heitz, both paired perfectly with our hearty dishes. The service was awesome here, from hostess to the sommelier. Our waiter was funny and attentive, but not over the top and let us enjoy conversation and never rushed us. He gave great menu suggestions also. He seemed busy but never forgot about us with either.
