Good food great service!
The food at this place is generally good, although we did find the chili crab to be a bit too starchy. Unfortunately, one of the desserts we ordered seemed to have turned bad and had a sour taste. On the bright side, the service was good and the staff were attentive. The ambience, however, was a bit noisy, making it more suitable for big groups and large celebrations.

Came here for lunch with friends. Randomly the restaurant is above the car park in Marine Parade but honestly - it is worth the visit! It's VERY old school Singapore Chinese food and their signature dish is chilli crab. We are not crab fans so we have never had this dish but there are plenty of other great dishes. The pomfret both ways is both delicious and so impress to look at. Also try the sweet potato leaves, pork ribs, cereal prawns and crispy squid. Try it out - it's worth the treat (but forget the dimsum dishes - stick to the a la carte dishes).

We were recommended this restaurant out of the main area and on the top of a car park. Busy and a little noisy with Singaporeans rather than tourists. A great menu. Chilli crab steamed vegetables and fried rice filled us up beautifully. We took our own wine $15 corkage. A delicious meal. We were offered plastic gloves for our chilli crab. Very much needed but no bib was offered. Apparently you have to ask for one!!?!? Apart from a messy shirt on my husband we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Be the first to ReplyTasty but expensive
We had been hankering for chilli crab since our last visit to Singapore and thought we would try this place which was near our hotel. Being located within a carpark it was a little tricky to find, but worth the search. We made a booking but as the place was only about 5 percent full we didn't need to. We ordered one serve of chilli crab and one serve of pepper crab. Although there wasn't all that much crab in either of our 2 one kilogram crabs, the sauce was delicious. The cost of our meal, including a total of 4 local beers, was a little over $300 Singapore. Not all that great a value, but a very tasty meal indeed.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Restaurant with old school taste
This is a gem of a restaurant if you enjoy excellent traditional food. The chilli crab was so good, you would want to savor every bit of the sauce if possible. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered and the service was great.

having family gathering and food standard remain restaurant service staffs friendly reasonable price
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed with the food in terms of quality and quantity
I spent almost $277.13 for the food delivery. Unfortunately the fried mee sua and fried rice which was charged $19.00 each was only for 2 people. The $18.00 lala was too saltish and were very small in size. The $98.00 black pepper crabs were a great disappointment! It was neither tasty nor fresh. $30.00 for 2 were expensive but at least the taste is quite pleasing. The 14 prawns which cost $33.00 was not worth it The 6 minibuns was reasonable and tasted good

Friend wanted to have crab so I remembered an article saying Roland was the creator and serves the best chili crab .
I had their signature chilli crab , sweet potato leaves , USA duck . The gravy was kinda blend , crab meat was although fresh but it lack of sweetness. The veggie was not salty too. The duck is not bad . Anyway the crab is really cheap tho, 2 500grams crab for $78 . But jumbo and long beach crabs are def much better .
Service was good too . I looked around during dinner and notice the servers and customers are pretty old so maybe the dishes was blend as older customers is more health conscious .
Superb Seafood Feast
Roland Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant in Singapore famous for its seafood dishes. Mr. Roland Lim, the owner, is actually the son of the founder of the well-known Chili Crab, which naturally turns out to be the signature dish of the restaurant. The reception area, main dining room and the private rooms are all very spacious, bright and clean. Servers are nice and friendly. Seafood dishes are exceptional! Highly recommend the super crispy Chinese Donuts Stuffed with Squid Paste, the flavorful White Pepper Crab, the luscious Chili Crab, and the crunchy Salted Egg Fish Skin. The well packed Salted Egg Fish Skins with Yam Strips, available at at SGD 19 (or USD 13.60) per can, are popular souvenirs.

We (20) had dinner at Roland Restaurant. The tour guide ordered five dishes for us. The food was delicious, especially fish.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed the chilli crab and buns
We made the trip out here just for the Chilli crab as we did not want to eat at the chain restaurants. It was very tasty and the buns were amazing. The crab was not cheap but in keeping with what other restaurants are charging.
Be the first to ReplyNot coming back
Waited an hour for 2 dishes. Fried scallop with yam and crab beehoon soup. Frustrated customers who came with us had theirs dishes served. Customers who came way later than us had the crab served at the same time. Only showed that it was not the dish that required along time to prepare but they messed up our order with no proper apology when asked. Food was good but will not be back. Can have it somewhere else without the ridiculous wait and their lack of care about messing up the order. Even the fried scallops came after one hour, after the crab.

I have always gone to Roland Restaurant for meals with family and friends.
Be it for a special occasion, or just a normal meal.
Every time I leave satisfied or can I say Super satisfied.
Food is amazing, selection is plentiful. Ambience is comfortable and sometimes festive.
Service can be just a touch better but I still enjoy myself nonetheless.
Will totally recommend the new goreng, the crab (chilli or pepper) and the roasted spring chicken .... and oh! The cereal prawns are to die for.
old restaurant but very good food
I try to eat dimsum there, all food very nice, even the restaurant look old but everything very clean, good service, all waiters very friendly, I think Roland maybe one of the dim sum in Singapore, must try
Be the first to ReplyValued for money Dim Sum
The dim sum offered by Roland Restaurant is delicious and valued for money & worth the money spent as all the dim sum dishes are very reasonably priced as compared to those restaurants offering dim sum that I have been to so far. Most of the dim sum dishes I like but each time I could not try them in one go. Especially for some of the dim sum I particularly like them & a must to order each time I dine there. ๐๐๐

Roland restaurant had been our family restaurant since my pregnancy and my son is married and we are still patronizing it. We love their chill crab, fried squid, US A duck, sambal kangkong and the sweet sour soup. Donโt miss it!
