Roll out the door afterward then wake up with the rooster
Go for your birthday! They give you a free spin to win token for next meal. This time tried the western cheese burger which was delicious. It has a great flavor. Also ordered mozzarella sticks, beef and cheez, pizza (pizza comes out discount because of price spent) apple pie, orange ale, and special hibiscus tea. The orange drink is the best as well as the apple pie ala mode. Don’t skip those or share them.
Be the first to ReplyWARNING! CHOKING HAZARD! PLASTIC OBJECT IN MY CHEESE FRIES!
While this restaurant has been a favorite for many years on our list, a most recent experience makes us doubt our future patronage, due to finding a plastic ring/clamp of some sort, in our cheese fries! We made a to go order, and always request cheese be ON the fries, not in a cup on the side, because there’s never enough cheese in the size of the cup you get, so we ask for it ON the fries, which makes that a special order. We also order over $60 worth to have food also for the next day, and qualify for the complimentary cheese pizza when meeting the minimum requirement. You would think after being customers since 1980, we’d be treated better when letting the restaurant know, of this extremely unpleasant and potentially highly dangerous occurrence with their food handling practices. The worst part is the attitude of the manager Eric P, and his cohort Henry, not giving a @$#$# about almost choking after biting down on this unexpected object and fracturing a tooth! Imagine eating and suddenly biting down on a hard plastic ring, gasping in surprise and nearly inhaling the object? Many of us have had that awful experience, but Henry and Eric P could not care at all. How about finding out who is responsible, or even an apology? Restitution is free fries? No thanks! How about a full refund, that would cost them nothing but no, they refused! Both their attitudes were frankly disgusting, Henry obnoxious and dubious and full of denial despite walking back in with the food and showing the small hard plastic ring/clamp covered in melted cheese! Like someone is planting this? Really? I don’t think so. We don’t order the bare minimum, we order $60 plus EVERY time for years, so we’re not looking for a freebie for no reason! But treated like we’re liars and it’s beyond an insult. We had gotten two days worth of food, and this portion of fries with cheese on, was reheated, and was eaten the next day, which both men could not fathom for whatever reason, and were doubtful because we didn’t come back the same day? We got 3 roast beef’s, 3 cheese fries and two chicken tenders plus a pizza. No, two people are not eating it all the SAME day! Therefore we didn’t KNOW about the clamp because it was in the fries not touched until the next day! Makes perfect sense, but it fell on DUMB ears that didn’t care or want to hear it. Although we were happy to see the original fries return, after two years of Rollnroaster trying to pass off new awful big soggy disgusting long wide stick fries during Covid and after, they returned to the original version. Congrats on that, but we DEFINITELY won’t be getting them or anything else here, due to the utterly unprofessional handling of our complaint! NOW we go higher, because the restaurant needs management, NOT MISmanagement by two incompetents who don’t value their loyal customers, or seem concerned that such a DANGEROUS incident happened under their watch. If they can’t keep foreign objects out of the food, then they should find NEW management IMMEDIATELY! PARENTS! Be wary and CAUTIOUS! I hate to imagine a CHILD CHOKING on this kind of thing, hurting their teeth or SWALLOWING foreign objects in THEIR food!! At this time, we DO NOT recommend Rollnroaster! Despite my past RAVE reviews, this time it’s more than just taste, it’s a matter of right and wrong and Henry and Eric P. ARE WRONG! Also, who knows what ELSE is lurking in the food?! SO DISGUSTING! Hopefully Henry and Eric P. can be replaced by a more competent and caring duo with a brain to easily have made us happy that someone cared to do the right thing by a long time loyal customer! Anyone else would be an improvement!! Eat here at your OWN RISK!

Ordered the roast beef with cheese well done, 1 cheeseburger, French fries, corn fritters, onion rings, apple pie warm with vanilla ice cream, pepperoni pizza, orangeade. Everything was delicious. Cant wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyBest roast beef roll ever.
We were staying in the area locally when we stumbled across this hidden gem. Think fast food elevated. Clean and basic inside. Staff friendly. Both my husband and I got the roast beef roll. I had added cheese. Daughter had a burger. Don't think I've ever had such a tasty roll. Extremely good value and was a popular place judging by the number of customers. I would visit every week if I didn't live in Scotland!

I ‘ve benn here countless times staring as a child 50years ago! I started coming again bc my mom is living near by. Id say food quality has gine down. First, they changed the fries and theyvare awful now! Today I was serve an RB sandwich that was definately MICROWAVE!! The meat was burning hot as only a nuked sandwich can get. The bread was microwave “chewy”. I tossed 1/3 away. Didnt even bother to complain…probably wont be going again. Let those who d t care about quality eat there. Oh well..too bad they wont know how great it once was!!!

Horrible service. Food was not very good.
Left food on table.
Don't go if your in a rush. Half the time you could not hear the waiter.
Seems they had poop in their mouths.
Horrible
Fun and tasty
I went out of my way to come here as a tourist because I'd read about the place. I'm glad I did. The food was good, and it was a fun, nostalgic experience.
The Roll-n-Roaster building looks like it hasn't changed (except for the prices) since the '70s. It had a lot more character than most fast food places do today.
I had a roast beef sandwich with cheese (or rather "cheez", which did make me wonder what exactly was in it) and coleslaw. Both were very good. I was particularly happy that I could order the beef to my temperature preference. Many restaurants serve roast beef too rare for my taste, and it was nice to have the option of ordering it well done.
While it was a little confusing to figure out where to place my order, the staff was friendly, and I got my food quickly. The restaurant seemed clean, and I have no complaints about the service. It's unlikely I'll be back to Sheepshead Bay any time soon, but if I am, I'd certainly return to Roll-n-Roaster.
Not what it used to be
Been eating here for over 50 years and some of the newer stuff is terrible. I ate there today and tried their new fried chicken sandwich for over 6 bucks. It was 3 over-fried pieces of tasteless crap. I'll stick to Popeyes; theirs is 1 thick piece of juice chicken and its still 4 bucks. I should have stuck with their great roast beef or cheeseburgers.

I don’t normally eat fast food but I am willing to make an exception when nostalgia is involved. Came here after Brennan & Carr since I was eating roast beef in Sheepshead Bay and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was tasty. Vibes were typical 70s. Really enjoyable even despite some of the restaurant being closed down because of Covid-19.

Their roast beef sandwich was so delicous, we went there two days in a row on a mini staycation in Sheepshead Bay. Picnic tables are available for eating outside.

It is a local gem with a unique menu
It is a local gem with a unique menu. Worth a stop. I have been a few times. Sometimes it is full. There is quite a bit of seating and some parking in a small lot on site.

Be the first to ReplyRoll N Roaster Customer Service Downhill
My husband and I have both been going here for over 45 years. We have been still going even though they have greatly increased their prices in recent years. Add to that how cheap they have gotten with the napkins (if you want to call the paper thin paper that doesn’t even work) They are not even on your table, you need to get them up front. Then there are the minuscule cheap cups for ketchup! However, this place is a staple and we always go for the great roast beef and burgers. Well, they lost us as customers today. My husband ordered a burger and it was so tiny that the bun was two sizes bigger. We knew that this was not right because we always say how the burger sticks out and sometimes we wish we had more roll. We noticed it right away and immediately brought it back to the counter. He showed it to the RUDE worker who said there was nothing he could do. My husband explained how he was a loyal customer for over 45 years and asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. We knew a damn well that he wasn’t. There’s a small dinky sign that says once you order nothing can be returned. We understand that, but what happens when they are at fault? Did they ever hear that the customer is always right? My husband did not want to start a scene so he just took the burger back. Well Roll and Roaster customer service is an important asset to a successful restaurant. You are going to lose a lot of loyal customers with your crappy attitudes. You can keep your kiddie burger. There are so many other options in Sheepshead Bay who treat their customers with the upmost importance. Sorry everyone reading this about the rant but I can’t believe the disrespectful treatment of customers that they have here. Years ago, the staff were absolutely wonderful, accommodating and put you first. Like many other things from this generation, the good establishments including Roll N Roaster are a thing of the past.

Ive been coming to this place since it opened. The menu is far more extensive than it used to be and everything I've had is truly excellent. The ordering process is still as chaotic as I remember it because of those sheer volume of customers, but nothing that should deter anybody from going and enjoying the food. The have some of the best shakes, pies, sandwiches, and sides in the city.
