A nice experience
The laminate menu is not up to date so ordering was annoying. The burger bun was not toasted. Reuben was darn good but the chef needs to look up the recipe for zingermans Russian dressing. Great service today.
Be the first to ReplyOutdoor lunch
Informal place with typical American food, I went at lunch time. It has outdoor tables and express service with drinks and beer options. Good for an informal lunch
Be the first to ReplyWonderful beer garden
I loved the outdoor beer garden at Alpine Inn. It featured great food from Zott's, delicious beers, wines, and cocktails, and a super fun vibe. Heat lamps at every table protect you from the evening chill. Service is fast and courteous. Ordering and payment is super easy via QR codes. Come here for the perfect place to unwind after work!
Be the first to Replywhat a joke
been going here for 40 years. loved this place since i was a kid. with the changes they have made, we will never go here again. so impersonal now. everything done on a phone. and then when you pay.... minimum on the tip is 18%. what a joke. we will never come here again
Be the first to ReplyDon't go if you're gluten-free
While I appreciate the fast service and picnic table ambiance of the outdoor dining area, Alpine Inn is a terrible place to go if you are gluten-free, as many people are these days. Almost everything on the menu is either pizza, pasta or sandwiches, and there are no gluten free options. It would not be that hard to at least offer their sandwiches and burgers on one type of gluten free bread. The gluten free options on the menu are literally two salads and the chili. This is way out of touch with the Bay Area and their customer base. If you cannot eat gluten, you will not have a good experience at Alpine Inn.
Be the first to ReplyPeaceful location- high quality casual bites
Love this spot! The outdoor patio area is spacious and pretty- you feel as if you’re right against the forest. Lots of shaded seating. Casual spot where you order from your phone (which I like). Service was speedy, friendly and everyone at our table was so happy with everything they had-everything seemed very fresh. Even the chips and guacamole were excellent. Parking seems a little tight. Bonus points that prices seemed very reasonable for the Bay Area!

Food comes out quick after ordering & is very tasty. Wood fired pizzas feed 4 adults . A fave appetizer is roasted brussel sprouts! Nice outdoor beer garden style meals with heat lamps for chilly temps. Orders are all placed via QR code. Lovely touch is the herbs & veggies growing in planters and the rushing Los Trancis creek side dining!
Be the first to ReplyGood for an american lunch
This place is a countryside inn serving typical american food. We tried also the pizza that was tasty, although a bit too expensive. They have a good beer selection All in all a good choice.
Be the first to ReplyLunch after hike
This is a rustic outdoor place for light lunch for locals. The outdoor area is covered by trees with a great ambiance and nice breeze. After hiking in Palo Alto, Pearson Arastradero preserve, we went there for lunch. There is a variety of food for every taste including pizza and hamburgers. This place is very crowded and we had to wait for about 20 minutes. They ask you not to stay more than 2 hours so they can accommodate others. The service is fast. There is parking available
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere
Stopped by the Alpine Inn on a recommendation after a days hiking. Car park is big and was full on arrival on a Sunday afternoon. It was extremely busy but we didn't have to wait too long for a table outside. The menu is varied and food arrived quite quickly. Food was good and the atmosphere great with a lovely setting.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect family visit
Beautiful food, beautiful location. Set in the woods this place has a real nature feel, with the added bonus of freshly cooked foods aroma in the air. Would recommend the turkey burger, very delicious, but the menu is extensive so lots to choose from. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyEXCELLENT
Drive or bike - or even ride your horse - to this gorgeous old property. Huge, beer garden style, outdoor area. Pleasantly shaded. Ideal for families and dogs too. Extensive beer and food menus. No, it's not cheap, but our pizzas and sandwiches were really good. Efficient service. Of course very popular on the weekend, but it's worth the wait. Check it out.
Be the first to ReplyLost its charm
We ordered two pizzas (Jelich and Ella) and brussel sprouts. Nearly all inedible. The brussel sprouts were black, hard, overcooked, and old (you could smell them from a block away). But it was the pizzas that really disappointed: my husband is a pizza fiend, eating it cold, hot, and sometimes moldy. Not these pizzas--he didn't even touch the leftovers. The sausage pizza was just ok, small bits of overcooked sausage, not much sauce. The prosciutto pizza was downright awful - awash in some overly cloying and sweet fig sauce. We will not be making a return take-out for a long long time.
Be the first to ReplyRock-hard take-out chicken
Paid $ 34 (not counting tip) for the most incredibly overcooked chicken ever encountered. We picked up a full roasted chicken that could not be cut by a knife, was completely tasteless, and unbelievably dry. We could not and did not eat any of it and had to throw it out. Evidently, the cooks are starting their roasting at 6 am and microwaving at take-out time. What a waste of a beautiful chicken.
Be the first to ReplyGreat beer garden!
This place is always hopping and for a reason! The beer is great and the food is good and to arrives quickly. great, casual beergarden atmosphere. Dog and kid friendly too!

Insane Beer Prices! $18- $24 for a 3-pint pitcher of beer and then Gough you for State Tax! I dislike when on the menu is says the price then when you pay BANG add the tax. Most bars if a pint is $7 -$8 the that is ALL you pay and then leave the tip. WELL, Alpine Inn you tip is the sales Tax and Lucky Lady in the 4th race.

This place is spectacular. It’s always been a great place but the new owners remodeled it and now they have stepped up in this Covid environment. Had lunch with my daughter today and it was great. Great service and hospitality. And the BEST CHEESEBURGER EVER!!!...
Be the first to ReplyDon't Worry It's Still Zotts
The new Zotts hasn't lost it's ambience, charm, mojo or whatever you call it. The sun still feels good on your back, the creek is still running, there's still the feint smell of beer and the little commemorative plaques are still there. The burgers are now round instead of rectangular, there are more umbrellas, there are a couple of big screen TVs under an awning and there's an old truck that's been transformed into a pizza dispensary . It's all good. Go there.
Be the first to ReplyGreasy and overpriced
Long before we moved to this area, we learned about the landmark Alpine Inn, so we were really looking forward to trying it early on. What a disappointment! Everything we ordered was so full of grease, we almost couldn't eat it. Maybe it's a great place to go for beer on a Friday night, but it's definitely not a good place if you're trying to eat even reasonably healthy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat upgrades to the Alpine Inn
I have been making treks to Zotts since 1968 and have been awaiting the reopening for months. I finally made it back last week for a late lunch with a friend. Everything has been improved and upgraded including the landscape and tables of the back beer garden. Among other notable improvements are the quality of the food, the indoor booths and the expanded menu. With all of this comes higher prices but thats to be expected based on the efforts the new owners have done to renovate the property. My cheeseburger with bacon jam was very good and the fries also good. The brioche bun certainly was better than the old, often stale buns I was used too. Only one complaint, none of my favorite types of beer, Anchor Steam,Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas were available from the tap for pitchers. When the weather is still good, a visit to the Alpine Inn is certainly worth the drive. Parking could be difficult if you get there during the noon hour, after 130 or son not so much.
