Excellent dinner
We had an absolutely wonderful anniversary dinner here. The service and food was top notch. Our server took his time with us, and gave us good recommendations. My new favorite place in LA.

Truly excellent meal. Every course was delicious and wonderfully presented. Extremely good wine selection. Great service. Portion sizes were perfect for sharing between two people. While the prices seem high, you will leave full and satisfied with two people sharing a three course meal with a total cost well within reasonable range. Highly recommended!

We had the endive salad (exceptional), sourdough pasta, butternut squash, and chicken with summer corn on radish. All were very tasty with a beautiful presentation. The highlight of the night was the honeycomb ice cream. I donโt even like honey but this ice cream was worth the price tag of dinner.

I very rarely give a 3 star review but had to with this restaurant. We were advised to order 4-6 dishes (two of us) so we went for 6 which included 1 dessert to share. We felt this was the right amount for us so a good recommendation. It has a nice little patio area at the back and the service was good. For the price we paid, we just didnโt feel it hit the mark. We are fortunate to eat in many fine dining restaurants and we left feeling disappointed with this one. 3/5 of the main dishes were excellent but the other two were very average. The dessert was hugely disappointing and less than average. We ordered the cheesecake and it simply had no flavour at all. Very strange for a place like this to serve such a poor course.
Be the first to ReplyFeed the eyes also!
Come prepared to eat with both your eyes and your mouth. The good looking staff ( aspiring actors, perhaps ) will be a feast for the windows of your soul, making up for the lack of colors in the food. The chef incorporates a great deal of local ingredients ( California cuisine as it is referred apparently) as seen in all the brand names in the ingredients and concocts dishes that are fresh and tasty. However, they really lack in presentation. Truly, the eyes need to eat before the mouth. Also, the staff and the kitchen could have done a better job at the order the food was brought out. We ordered multiple entrees to share between us 2 and some really strong flavor dishes came out before the milder flavored ones. Overall, I came for the one Michelin star and ended up subtracting a star from the overall score
Be the first to ReplyQuality was not quite there.
Went here for a special event for a culinary experience. We had bread, the endive peaches, fresh cheese & pecans salad, pasta, chicken, rocket fish, and honey comb ice cream. Dishes are medium sized so a few would be good for a meal. The pasta was way too salty. They said it was how the flavor dishes, sorry there was a salt can in that dish and it was far from eatable. The ending salad was fantastic. The rocket fish was also good. We had ordered the beef sausage but the kitchen expected it to be too salty. We passed. Initially had a glass of wine which clearly was from a bottle opened yesterday. Ended up switching. The service was fantastic but the food was a disappointment. Not going back.

One of the best meals I have enjoyed in a while. Great service and delicious preparation of vegetables, meat and fish. Love how they incorporate vegetables into desserts. Not to miss.
Be the first to ReplyLovely dinner with cousins
Had dinner there last night. The pork and the chicken were outstanding and the gem lettuce delicious. The shrimp terrine was bland. Could not really tell it was shrimp and the texture was too soft. Dessert was the raspberry and rhubarb pie with ice cream. It was okay.

We love this restaurant. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff are truly welcoming and warm.
The dishes are encouraged to be shared and are as delicious as they are creative. We make it a point to dine here, whenever weโre in the area.
Good not great.
Not quite the Michelin Star it has, but solid. We enjoyed the meal, but felt like most was pretty expected. Beet salad was yum. Warm staff.
Be the first to ReplyGrossly Overpriced with Bad Service
Grossly overpriced. Service bad. Entrees came out a half hour apart. Noodle with "crab" entree had no crab and came out cols . Pork chop entree (most expensive of all) came out 25 min after others and was well overcooked. Waiter never asked how we wanted it. Over$500 with tip for a (birthday) dinner with NO dessert. It's a joke. Go elsewhere.

Exceptional food. Vegetable dishes were some of the best Iโve ever had. Staff was courteous and prompt. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyCasual spot with surprisingly gourmet menu!
Casual spot with surprisingly delicious food! The terrace was very cute and had romantic vibes with the cute lighting. The food was mostly great! Ordered to share so we could try a bit of everything. It was an explosion of flavors, staring with string peas with white chocolate macadamia, then a mussel chowder that was my favorite (celery based so not heavy at all) and then shared a grass fed steak. Not very happy with the steak - had tons of nerves so eating it was not pleasant. The desserts were mind blowing - must try the cherry pie! Service was very friendly. Prices are high.

There is a hunger that transcends the need to feed. Itโs not a hunger for nourishment of the body but a hunger for nourishment of the soul. That nourishment is found hidden in the harmonized combination of flavors carefully pieced together in food offered here. This is not a meal but a display of culinary entertainment that orchestrates a symphony so utterly hypnotizing in the most subtle of means. No flavor over powers another the baja striped bass lays the tone for the plate while the tehachapi corn, poblano & tomato envelopes the protein in notes of umami. A delight that will hook the consumer and reel it in with every delicious bite of this dish, until you have surfaced beyond the mundane meal into new territory. Chef andy doubrava is a genius.

Great food experience
First time in this restaurant, found from the website it is one of the recommended Michelin restaurant.
Ambience is really perfect for couples, also good for business meals.
Staff are friendly, surprisingly let us try out the wine before we order!
The dishes is really new experience, our appetizer comes with very refreshing beets and berries.
Follow by very unique pozole verde, interesting!
Our main dish is islands rockfish, special curry sauce bring up the entire flavor!
We finished with very lovely dark chocolate almond brittle, which is not sweat at all!
Strongly recommended!!
Rustic Canyon is Excellent
Arrive early and request a booth. Popular with locals, this place gets very booked and very bustling. Menu offers small plates with local ingredients. Designed to share, the small plates are VERY ample. We loved the beet salad, the green salad, the chicken, the fish and the deserts. Everything was fresh, delicious, original. Service could not have been better. You feel like you are at home and your family is serving you.
