Resort fees
They advertise as no resort fee . They do charges resort fees . Very disappointing in that aspect. Otherwise nice hotel.
Be the first to ReplyLasVegasđ
The hotel looks very upscale from outside. The rooms are small and stylish but very basic. The TV had Youtube where you could watch your language stuff.it also had the Monorail attached to the hotel. We got a day pass for 15 $ with unlimited trips for a day. No Kettle ( basic facility even in smalker hotels ) or tea coffee in the rooms. No drawers to keep stuff. The only way to get some hot water to make some coffee on your own is to go all the way downstairs to the lobby which had a cafe called Prendia where you could get hot water .There is no breakfast buffet for such a big hotel and the breakfast vouchers we got served limited options in a very small crowded restaurant called Zoefflers. But the food was good and the staff were helpful. No newspaper in the lobby. But the staff at reception were very courteous.
Be the first to ReplySpoiled arrival in Las Vegas
Check in desk, struggling for staff. Extremely slow and 50 people in the queue. Have been waiting 40mins and still 30 people in front of us. I have never came across this in any of my world wide travels. Won't be back in this hotel, and would definitely not recommend it
Be the first to ReplyMixed bag; cost add-ons
On the positive side, the price was good (we got a package through Expedia), the staff friendly, room very clean and comfortable, common areas very nice. On the negative side, the decor was really ugly and nonsensical, a resort fee of nearly $60 per night added in (for something we would never use), and a nightly housekeeping gratuity is also baked in. I don't even know how much that is yet, since we haven't checked out. The gratuity wouldn't bother me so much if I were at all confident that it would get to the people doing the work.
Be the first to ReplyGood Stay
Great Location if you are attending a convention as it is a 10 min walk. Overall the food choices are decent and the room value is very good. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side and not well lit compared to the newer hotels but overall I was happy with the stay.
Be the first to ReplyDon't go there with teens
The big pool with big TV is for 21 and over. The other pool is for toddlers. The hotel is don't care about other families. I wish I knew it before booking this place. Don't go there. they charge ridiculous resort fee but we can't use any facilities if you with teens.
Be the first to ReplyNot family friendly. Poor beds.
The reason for my single star may not apply to all. This was pitched when we booked as a family friendly hotel for Vegas and showing a nice pool. Unfortunately, it turns out their nice pool is for ages 21 and up. If you are a family with children under 21, you're stuck with a typical, small pool, the likes you'll find in any budget motel. The other reason, at least for us, is we found the beds very uncomfortable. On the positive, the staff are very friendly and it is a very clean hotel. It's just frustrating to feel deceived, and I hope this review will help others with families of children under 21 make a more informed decision. Thank you for reading my review.
Be the first to ReplySCAM- FALSE Advertising and NO help with resolution.
0. The place is a scam. The staff is zero help. We booked on Expedia for the Alexandria King deluxe which the picture show a beautiful room and when we checked in, we were put in a dungeon that didnât have a freaking window (cement slab behind the âfaux window curtainsâ) and we were expected to stay there for a week and be fine with that, paying as much as we did. it wasnât the room we booked in the photos. Sahara said it was the fault of Expedia for false advertising, but Saharaâs advertising the exact same thing on their website as well. They also told us we wouldâve gotten a better room if we wouldâve booked directly on their website instead of using Expedia and thatâs why we got the terrible room (both being labeled âking deluxeâ). Sahara wouldnât even make it right and put us in a room with a basic window- said we had to pay $100 more a night to get the room in the pictures that we booked. When we asked if they could just make it right for one night at least til we could figure it out, Sahara then proceeded to say that they were too full and they couldnât help us so we were stuck in the dungeon (that also the lights didnât work in). We literally left and went and got a room at the Palms. (Mind you, by this time itâs 9 oâclock at night after we had already traveled all day). We were told before we left, by Davin Jay Cruz, that Sahara has the account is fully noted that we will not be charged and that we did not stay there and returned the keys and itâs a simple phone call from Expedia to confirm we didnât stay there and we will get our money back. I got a phone call from Sheila at Sahara last week after I left a nasty review on Expedias page, and she said itâs a simple process to have Expedia call them to confirm we didnât stay and then we will get our money back. I called Expedia and they too said letâs make a quick call and confirmâ- and here we are two weeks later and no one can seem to get a hold of anybody to confirm so now weâre just âSOLâ and they wonât refund because they canât do their job and âget a hold of ANYONEâ. Youâre telling me that a business with 1600 rooms and staff everywhere; you canât get a hold of one single person there, in multiple tries of calling to confirm that our account, THAT is NOTED on FILE and says they did not stay..? Iâm baffled and going to the Nevada BBB.
Be the first to ReplyYou may want to stay someplace else
I was there for 2 nights when on my second night, I was going to my room and I was stopped by a black security guard named Sence, I think, because he kept putting his hand over his nametag. Anyway, he asked for my license and called in my information. Of course it came back clear, but then he took my room key and refused to give it back to me. Finally his boss told him to leave me alone as I am a guest. His boss gave me my room key.
Be the first to ReplyGreat time
Good room, friendly and professional staff, clean quiet and comfortable. Good location. Wife both kids and I had a great vacation. From check in to check out all was good. The swimming pool area didnât appeal to us as a family. But we were busy most times when it was open. Spa could not do our 15 year old daughters nails but found a nearby spa that did
Be the first to ReplyRepresents Great value for money (for Vegas!)
We stayed for 4 nights at the refurbished Sahara Hotel. There were lots of positives, which includes: âą The room rates and resort fees are reasonable compared to other hotels on the strip. Nothing in Vegas is particularly cheap, but if you are a value conscious traveler, this hotel represents good value for money. âą Check in line was super quick (this may have been because we checked in quite late in the day and/or because of the time of year) âą Our room (Marra Style King Size) was a really good size, with a nice walk-in shower and a big squishy bed (a little too soft for me but then I like a properly firm mattress). It was also immaculately cleaned. I had read a few reviews about some of the more eccentric stylings on some of the other room styles, so we stuck with the âbusiness luxeâ styling of the Marra which was pretty inoffensive and fitted out well. âą Although at the northerly end of the strip the hotel was well connected being on the Monorail and the Deuce bus route, so it was reasonably easy to get around. âąThe hotel pool available to guests is located on the roof of the Alexandra Tower and has excellent views of the Stratosphere Hotel. Its on the small size so I can imagine its full in the summer, but on a sunny (but chilly) January day we had it pretty much to ourselves. âą The Casino, like the hotel, is a good size, not so big as to bamboozle you but big enough. We didnât really gamble but enjoyed watching others from the bar. âą The Airport Shuttle bus recommended by the hotel was reasonably priced and they were super accommodating, despite our plane being 3Âœ hours delayed. Definitely book online before you travel, the details are on the Sahara website under travel. We didnât have any complaints about our stay but I am passing on a few tips which definitely helped us make the most of our stay: âą If you are British and as addicted to your morning cuppa as we are, then bring a travel kettle. The room does not have tea/coffee making facilities. Although there is a Starbucks in the hotel, it can get expensive shelling out for tea and coffee every morning. Due to the lower voltage in America our tiny kettle did take about 20 minutes to boil but it got there eventually and was so welcome when we were up at the crack of dawn with jetlag. âą Stock up on room snacks and fully utilise the room fridge. Again, Vegas can be expensive, so make smart choices and cross the road to the Walgreens and stock up on drinks and snacks for your room. That side of the road is slightly dodgy but itâs a very short 2-minute walk from the hotel. âą Monorail versus Bus (Deuce) â we mainly used the Monorail, its super quick and reasonably empty and this would be my recommendation of you are staying at the Sahara. For a 3-day unlimited pass it was $32 (cheaper online) so was another way of controlling cost. However, Sahara is the furthest it goes North and there are limited stops, annoyingly, most drop you off at the rear of some of the bigger hotels, which you then have to navigate yourself out of. We spent a frustrating 30 minutes trying to get out of the MGM Grand and vowed never to use that stop again. One day we used the Deuce bus, which has more flexibility as it goes to more places. We used it to go to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign in the South, all the way up to Fremont Street in the North in the evening. Its $8 for a 24-hour ticket of $20 for a 3 days pass, which again is good value. We still had time left on our 24 hours to use it the following morning to go and get an early breakfast so got our monies worth. However, the Deuce is sooooooooo slow, super busy (even in January) and some of the clientele is a little more colourful than those found on the monorail. âą Finally, do your research. There are a number of YouTube bloggers who have excellent content on free and cheap things to do and places to eat in Vegas. We found Travel Ruby on YouTube to be one of the most helpful. We did splurge on a couple of treats, but we also kept the cost down by, for example, seeking out reasonable prices for breakfasts.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience in an otherwise beautiful place
We came here for our 12 year anniversary and was disappointed more than impressed. -The hotel lobby and common areas are beautiful. Check-in was a hot mess so be ready for a long wait (no check-in kiosks). Person who checked me in was very nice. -High resort fees which they say provide access to parking and things like the pool - which I find funny as the parking is free to anyone (no ticketing system or attendant - I never saw security either) and the pool was closed. -We stayed in the Marra room. The room itself was very pretty, the lighted mirrors were a nice touch. HOWEVER.. --when we first arrived we found the room had no soaps, shampoo, conditioner or lotion. I texted guest services (which admittedly is a nice option instead of calling) and they brought me some soap fairly quickly. --After we got the soap the bathroom was going to be used. But we found the bathroom "door" was just a sliding mirror. Cute, but it sacrifices function for looks. When we tried to close this "door" we found it left a HUGE gap on either side of the door frame - meaning you can see right inside. We called down to guest services who had a couple of engineers up to adjust the "door". They fixed the "door" to reduce the gap, but given the type and style of the bathroom "door" there will always be a gap. There is no way to lock the "door" or seal it (meaning every sound and smell is definitely making it's way into the room).. providing the same privacy as a curtain. đ„Ž Big mood killer! đ -After the maintenance guys left I turned on the TV and went to lay on the bed. --The TV is insanely dark and you have no options to adjust it. The TV channels are limited, you are unable to rent movies or use a streaming service. Also, the TV utilizes the WiFi and would disconnect for LONG periods of time. So if you wanted to use it as mask the loud bathroom sounds tough luck. đ€Ł I ended up using my phone to watch things instead of the TV. -- While laying on the bed for the first time, I found orange dried spots on the "clean" comforter. Looked like dried food. We had only been in the room for less than an hour and never ate in the room. By this point I was over contacting guest services. So we just used the sheet and spent our time out of the hotel as much as we could. Since there is easy access to the monorail it wasn't hard to avoid being in the hotel. In short this was a lackluster experience. I wish I would have spent a little bit more to stay somewhere that was more thoughtful in their execution. I doubt we'll be back.
Be the first to ReplyStay Away
It looked nice on the surface, but this hotel has issues. When we arrived, we were told the room we booked was unavailable, so we were "upgraded" to a suite with only one bed. We were told the rest of us could sleep on the sofa, or get cots, so we got cots which were fine, but they didn't bring any blankets. It was literally a struggle to get anything at this place. Towels, blankets, toilet paper. Things that should have been left by housekeeping. The toilet continuously sprayed water on the floor and had a really annoying sound. Despite being a non smoking room, it constantly smelled like cigarettes and weed, and I was congested beyond belief the whole time. The radio didn't work (until it did randomly in the middle of the night), and the side table USB port was broken (yes it was plugged in, and yes the power switch was on). One light didn't work at all, and there was an annoying sound coming from somewhere outside the window. The only positive was that the staff were nice. I feel like this was a poorly managed hotel with staff that couldn't meet the demands no matter how hard they tried. The staff and Magic Mike shows are the reasons for the hotel getting any stars at all. Everything else about it was disappointing. Just do yourself a favor and stay away.
Be the first to ReplyNo coffee machine, microwave, curtains won't open.
For a high end refurbished room, shocked you do not provide a coffee machine. Coffee was not even easily purchased in the am - long line at Starbucks. Also disappointed no microwave in room. Whomever designed the room refurbishment, did a terrible job. We could not open the curtains - the motor or switch was broken. Maintenance guy came and could do nothing. Lamps beside the bed, could not be independently operated - were tied to the main lights in room, so you could not turn off lamps at bedside at night. Shocking oversight Extremely poor signage to self parking if you enter from rear of Hotel off Paradise Dr.

Wonderful place to celebrate such a milestone in our sonâs medical career. Staff was amazing and thoughtful. Food was constantly high quality and the party atmosphere lasted all day and night. We will be back soon. Thank you to the Sahara management team and supporting staff for a wonderful stay.
Be the first to ReplyThe best hotel you can find, if you can find the right deal
Our most recent Sahara stay continues to remind us why its the best value on the strip. If you sign up for their newsletter, you can find rates and/or savings in resort fees that are the best in the business. The rooms at the Sahara are high quality, quiet, comfortable, clean and modern (Marra style room). We have been able to rest comfortably while out and enjoying all that Vegas has to offer. The property has monorail access which I'd argue is a must have for any visitors looking to take in multiple activities on the strip. The resort is extremely clean from top to bottom and continues to make renovations that keep it up to date for people coming back. The staff are also friendly and more importantly quick in getting you what you need. From check-in to any extra amenities needed in the room we found every team member to be very polite and prompt in helping us with what was needed. If I was to find any negatives for the property it would be that the marra elevators are extremely busy Friday - Sunday and can be difficult to work with if there are any mechanical issues. Additionally if the escalator plague strikes Sahara, it will be a less than desirable experience for any monorail passengers. The walk to/from the monorail has a larger set of escalators for access. We had to deal with just the "down" escalator not working. If the "up" escalator were to ever fail that walk would be less than ideal We will recommend Sahara to all our friends and family if they are considering a Vegas trip.
Be the first to ReplySahara terrible room
I booked a non smoking room. They gave us a room that had a really bad smoking smell, very unhealthy. I went to front desk and they said they could not change our room but would send someone to clean. So somebody came and sprayed something, but it did not help at all. They said they would charge us if we would leave. So I asked to talk with the manager because the smell was really healthy and strong. Someone part of the hotel stuff mediate the conversation with the manager who never talked to us. I asked this person to go and check how bad it was, to verify we were saying the truth. He never returned. For all this time we could not be in the room. So I tried to talk again and they said they would put a machine to make it batter but recommended we not to stay in the room. We said ok and waited about 2 hours. I did not work at so we had to book another hotel. They did not refund us, they only waved 56 dollars out of the hotel fee. So we still had to pay for the smoking room we never booked. That was the most terrible experience I ever had traveling. Couldnât wait to leave that place !!!
Be the first to ReplyPresents well, but lacks service & functionality
I think if youâre a first-timer in Vegas or here for a short stay or party, youâll be just fine here. The Sahara is recently renovated, has multiple restaurants, pools, gambling (of course!) and access to Monorail - everything one might need to have a decent stay on site or get out to take in The Strip. But if you like to go see and do off-Strip, or want a personalized experience AT ALL, this property just doesnât cut it. Itâs surface-level nice, but service and functionality totally lacks. You are just herded cattle. For starters - the room looked brand new, was quite modern and sparkling clean. But on closer look, the functionality is totally lacking. Missing simple amenities like coffee maker (few Vegas properties actually have these anymore), no laundry bag to separate your clean and dirty laundry (Vegas can be filthy); no dresser, just a bar over the mini fridge with open shelving (?). The charging port and outlets were so loose and well-used (broken) on the nightstand that my phone came unplugged overnight. Left the hotel at 5:30am for a 12-hour Grand Canyon tour with 11% battery. The WiFi TV glitched constantly. The lighting was so bad I actually laughed out loud when I turned on the floor lamp. Had to keep popping out from the bathroom to do hair & makeup. Part of the reason I booked here was because my 10yo wanted to swim on vacation, so I checked online, called (texted) prior to confirm pools were open. On site, we asked for directions to the pool, and first bellman sent us to 21+ pool. (My son is obviously not 21+ so we couldnât get in there.) Second staff member (security) directed us to the right tower. We went all the way over to our tower to change into our swimsuits, back over the river and through the woods, asked the bell stand again to confirm directions to the right pool, were sent over to the rooftop two towers away to find out the pool was actually closed that day. Seems like ANY of the staff members we asked for directions couldâve just told us that pool was closed and saved us the trip. They had three times to get it right and couldnât even nail that. Constant lines at check in. Waited 20 mins upon nearly midnight arrival. Guest Services was simply inaccessible, lines never went down. Canât call the hotel, loops you to a text-only line you have to fumble through to get anyone at the property level to give you the wrong answer or redirect you. Couldnât find a concierge, so I planned all tours, tickets and reservations myself online when we got there and hoped for the best. (You WILL need dinner reservations if you want to go anywhere decent or reputable. Itâs really tough to get a walk-in spot even at a chain like Benihana or Rainforest Cafe. Same with attractions, they will likely sell out.) The Monorail is a huge feature. The Sahara station is outside the hotel up an escalator, over a bridge and back down to the platform. A bit of a trek but accessible if the escalators and elevators are working (they werenât always). Pro Tip: if youâre heading back to Sahara northbound from The Strip, the last station you want to hop on is at Harrahâs/The Linq. The monorail loops pretty far away from The Strip toward the convention center after Harrahâs, so the rest of the stations after that point are a good 15+ minute walk down side streets and alleys. Otherwise youâre hoofing it all the way back to Sahara, and itâs far (30 minutes) and desolate, nothing to see after the Encore just past Harrahâs/The Linq. We made that brutal mistake one time only!!! Staff sending us to the wrong pool, wrong elevators, wrong rideshare location (missed two Ubers) - it became quite frustrating. Everything is so vast and expansive in Vegas, nobody really seemed to care youâd have to reroute pretty far back the right direction if misguided. Really stinks if you have a reservation or timed activity planned. Property signage is absolutely terrible, completely lacking. You just learn to fend for yourself here. Shout out to Housekeeping - the room and property were amazingly clean, and they were the only staff that were a) regularly accessible and b) absolutely friendly and willing to help. Things like this just make you really resent the resort fee and become quite frustrating. The property presents well and is amazingly clean, but lacks service and functionality overall once youâre on site. Youâre just one of the masses here.
Be the first to ReplySTAY HERE AND SEE WHY!
I highly recommend the Sahara, especially if you want to be just a little off the beaten path. The place is immaculately clean, staff very friendly and helpful, security is highly visible and also helpful, casino is HUGE, eating experiences amazing, the rooms are generous, new (we stayed in Marra tower), beds and pillows soft, linens smelled like mom freshly ironed them. So in other words - I was VERY impressed and will return to this resort.
Be the first to ReplyGo to the Sahara!
This resort is smaller and a little higher on the strip but that is a good thing! We were able to play what and when we wanted and the best thing was most slots are 1 cent slots and our favorite craps game was minimum $3 which was awesome! Get the Infinity card (free) and get free play on slots and video poker and try the restaurants on the outside of the casino. Now for the rooms. They are great! Clean, spacious, great beds, and a refrigerator. Our only complaint were the people next door who were loud but that isnât the fault of the hotel by any means. Go to the Sahara! You wonât be sorry.

The room we booked wasnât available when we checked in. But Gibson took good care of us and got us a comparable room and provided a food credit. The casino didnât smell like stale cigarette smoke. Will stay again.

Well the TV and ac goes off on their own. The furniture is falling apart. The toilet cycles on and off, the towels had holes on it, and they offer NO HOUSEKEEPING . This is the worst hotel we have stayed at in Las Vegas.

I stayed 2 nights at the Sahara for the first time. I am a Iconic Rewards member meaning I get "upgraded" rooms and check in experience (False Ad) My check in was very slow and I had to ask for an "upgrade" the front desk said they dont upgrade Iconic members but said she did it because its "Slow" my room was in the alexandria tower... the room seemed clean until I found a chicken wing under the sofa and a small used water bottle in the fridge. House keeping didn't even bother giving me the requested items I asked for since no one cleaned the room... I checked out in a day since I didnt feel comfortable staying at this hotel anymore.... It was very unfriendly and dirty

Traveled with only adult family members (five) to celebrate my motherâs 80th birthday. The hotel was well maintained. All the staff we interacted with were very hospitable. The self-parking garage was well lighted and clean. The hotel room was immaculate, and the beds were very comfortable. Truly enjoyed the great food and waitstaff at Uno Mas Street Tacos.
