Over rated food
My husband ordered 6 hour roast and I ordered veal parmesian. The veal should have been one of the best but it was greasy and a bit spicy and just average tasting. Husband liked first few bits of meatloaf but then declared it very rich, too rich. We each brought home leftovers to have second day. I took a few bites and then stopped.
Be the first to ReplyVery bad experience
Very bad experience, the manager Victor Ortiz was very rude and so unprofessional, Rib Eye was dry, horrible! When we reported it, he told us it was because our finish we order, so rude this man
Be the first to ReplyGood food. Close to downtown Dallas.
The truffle fries and calamari were delicious appetizers. The Caesar salad was tasty. The lasagna is a huge portion and it is so good! The pepperoni pizza is also very good. We ordered the Texas cannoli for dessert and it was like a de-constructed cannoli. We would order the regular cannoli next time. Overall, great atmosphere and great experience!
Be the first to ReplyRomantic Dinner with Superb Food
We easily made reservations and ate on their patio during January. The crisp air was nice against their many heaters. The food from appetizers to our desert was delicious. High quality and well done - We have not had that in many places since Covid ravaged this restaurant industry and found Saint Rocco’s to be an amazing choice. Ernesto was a very personable waiter and offered great recommendations for wine and food selections. We cant wait to return. The view upstairs is truly breathtaking!
Be the first to ReplyBrian Hunter it's HOSPITALITY not Hostility.
This is a review of Saint Rocco's and of Brian Hunter, GM of Saint Rocco's. 2 friends, my fiancé and I arrived at Saint Rocco's at 7:30pm on January 15, 2021 for a Brithday dinner. We all ordered and proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for our food to come out all at different times. Step your game up EXPO (We'll get back to that). My friends got shrimp and bacon pasta. Honestly the most overcooked shrimp ever. My fiancé had a flat bread, nothing special there either. Finally, I had the lobster ravioli, it came out last (my friends had already finished there past by the time it came out) and some of the ravioli were undercooked and hard on the bottom. What this tells me is the EXPO sucks and the chef forgot to make the ravioli and had to on the fly. Ultimately sending out undercooked food and giving me FOOD POSINING. AT ABOUT 3AM I WOKE UP AND LITTERALLY POOPED MYSELF FOR HOURS. It was so bad I called the restaurant and left a voice mail explaining the situation and requested a call back. To which I received, none. Let's talk about Brian Humter GM of Saint Rocco's. He apparently only has enough brain cells to answer the phone. Don't ask him to call.you back, its.just too much for him to comprehend. I'm so sick the next day that my fiancé calls the restaurant. She re-explains the situation to which he responds by saying he didn't call back because he 'thought is was a joke' and then proceeds to call me a 'liar'. Then says food posing takes 24 hours to develop. Somebody needs to retake their food handlers dumb dumb. It's actually 6-12 hours. (That one is on me, buddy.) The way he talked down to my fiancé was downright unprofessional, unpleasant and childish. Go back to Amarillo with that disgusting attitude and low IQ. Brian, I'm not sure why you entered the hospitality industry, but let me remind you. Your customers are the only reason you have a job. The fact that you are this incompetent goes to show your complete lack of respect and complacency for the HOSPITALITY industry, your own reputation and Saint Rocco's. By the looks of the other reviews, I'm not the only person who feels this way, brian. Also, I think it's absolutely hilarious that your 'best seller' the lobster ravioli is a pre-made food not made in-house from a distributor. I don't understand how you can take responsibility for a food you don't manufacture. Oh, wait you don't take responsibility, I forgot.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian fine dining
Portions good, the food was outstanding, the wine selection and all food choices were quite good. Service was outstanding, decor was a bit bland not as cozy as I expected.. Although that may be more of a Fauxvid thing Drinks were proper and tasty. Downside.. WTF was the bread Dipping sauce? Watered down marinara?
Be the first to ReplyI wanted to like this place..
I came in wanting to like this place... It was a nice evening and we were seated by a very nice young lady outside.. Oscar our server was fantastic and attentive. I've just got say the food is average at best... Very average. I had a shrimp pasta with I believe pecorino cheese... It was just a very thick Alfredo type sauce.. My friend had a meatball and spaghetti dish we she said was just ok... I tasted a meatball, probably a frozen variety... (I'm guessing) Caprese salad had their spin on it, but it was tasty and we both enjoyed that very much... Wine special was great 1/2 off your bottle of wine, which puts it right at supermarket price point.. There was a bit of a delay getting entrées out, place was not full. Not sure what that could have been attributed to.. OK this place is not bad, it's just average... So if that's what you are looking for then this is your spot.
Be the first to ReplyNot sure this is NY style, but there were some hits
This was a second visit for one of us, first visit for the other. Highlights: attentive bartender (where we sat/ate); good 1/2 price wine night Wednesdays; nice shaved/salted zucchini chips before dinner; awesome bread and light (vodka?) sauce. The misses: not crowded dining room and yet it seemed there was chaos among some of the staff. We ordered a salad but it never came. The pizza was not NY style at all, but rather a flatbread. Nice flavor though, I’d get it again. The chicken parm was probably the biggest disappointment—rubbery and flat—sadly was probably frozen product. I’d go back, my companion will not.
Be the first to ReplyYour bias is showing, Rocco...
I arrived this evening as one white female member of a group of five potential patrons. The young hostess glanced up as my colleague asked for a table for five and said, without making eye contact, "No, we don't have anything..." As we stood there, she reluctantly said, "Well...let me check..." She went into the restaurant and came back out with someone who appeared to have a managerial role. This person looked at our group, saw me standing there, then stated that it would be a 5-7 minute wait, and if we wanted to wait outside, they would come and get us. As we all turned to leave, the young hostess looked at me and said, "OH! Hi! Can I help you?" Disgusted and incredulous, I said, "I am with THEM..." She blushed and said, "ohh..." Needless to say, we decided to choose another, less racist/biased establishment this evening. You can do better, Saint Rocco's.
Be the first to ReplyJust average !!
This was our first time to dine here and it was very average for Italian. The spaghetti sauce was very thick and tasted more like can sauce. The atmosphereThe atmosphere was very cool and
