Amazing evening
We came in for drinks and food and sat at the bar. Ollie and Aaron were great hosts, giving us drink and food recommendations and keeping us entertained throughout our time there. We had off menu cocktails, and they were super excited to make us drinks off the cuff. Their fun and chat made our night, we’d come again just for them!

We had a fabulous dinner. Atmosphere, drinks, food and service were all top class. Wonderful use of vegetables and I especially loved seeing some more obscure ones that I remember from childhood. Great service - by which I don’t mean attentiveness on a formula but a conversation with someone who is proud of the restaurant and really wants you to enjoy your time there.

Ate here again on Tuesday, we're a fussy couple and particularly enjoy tapas, we both enjoyed it very much and thought the food was outstanding. Traditional dishes often with a twist and beautifully presented. Attentive service without being overbearing. Some of the wines were a little rich but what the heck!

Thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Accommodating staff and great ambience. Food served quickly and just delicious! Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent hidden gem
Visited this small hide away for the first time for lunch yesterday, and was extremely impressed with the quality of the individual dishes and the service that we had. I would not hesitate to go back here again.

We have eaten wonderful meals at the original Salt Yard restaurant in Goodge Street and at Ember Yard in Berwick Street. On a trip to Westfield shopping centre today we decided to have a late lunch at the newish Salt Yard in Shepherds Bush. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and only one other table came in while we were there. Despite being outnumbered 2 to 1 by the staff, the service was very slow and lackadaisical. We had to remind our waitress that we were still waiting for a glass of wine and we were half way through the meal before the flatbread arrived. Sadly, the food is no match for the original restaurant. Crispy squid that wasn’t crisp, very sad looking padron peppers, overcooked prawns and very bland croquettes of ham and cheese. We had to spend a while gesticulating to get someone’s attention to get the bill. When it came, we asked for the card machine. It didn’t come. We eventually got up, put on our coats and made our way to the bar to pay. This experience was not worth £48.

We went for a family birthday dinner. Between four of us, we had about 10 different Tapas dishes. All of them were perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and very tasty indeed. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Not cheap, but given the restaurant's central London location and the qaulity of the food and wine, entirely reasonable. Altogether an excellent experience and one to be repeated.

the food was better than we were expecting, everything we ordered was so tasty and were sad when we had finished it!! best dishes were the patatas bravas and squid- thanks for a lush lunch
Be the first to ReplyDelicious tapas!
Everything we ordered was delicious, I highly recommend the chorizo, gambas pil pil and truffle arincino. The service was great, we were sat downstairs with a noisy table of 10 but they compensated us with a free drink - thank you!
Be the first to ReplyLove Salt Yard - Absolutely delicious
The food at Salt Yard is Italian & Spanish tapas - everything is absolutely delicious The atmosphere & ambience is intimate & buzzy with lovely lighting The service is efficient and friendly Would recommend booking a table upstairs - there was a noisy table of 10 downstairs but the staff very kindly compensated us with a complimentary drink Thank you - see you again soon

We booked in here as a group of old (really old) uni friends catching up. Sadly no tables were available outside, but it was one of those roasting days, so not a massive surprise. Service was quite slow to start off with, but I work in hospitality and acknowledge that the industry is really struggling with recruiting staff. It got much better as the evening went on though. One of our party threw a spanner in the works by announcing that they had an onion allergy. I mean, onion is in literally everything. But the chef came back immediately with suggestions and alternatives so to not limit the menu choice. This was really appreciated and meant that we could still make choices from a wide selection of dishes. The courgette flower is a must, as are the prawns the patatas bravas, chorizo and the salmon. Only downside is that wine choice airs on the expensive side, with the cheapest bottle starting at £36.

What a fantastic find! Absolutely fantastic food , service and drinks. Prawns, duck and lamb were exceptional. We’ve eaten in a Michelin rated restaurant this weekend and Salt Yard was better! Well done you guys! We will be back and recommend to anyone visiting London

Went to lunch there with a few friends. 2 things l couldnt get over, An overly salted duck which apparently ‘is the way it’s supposed to be’ (pls do not order this if you suffer from HBP) and secondly, the kitchen was basically in the restroom. Sadly we only visited the restroom after lunch so we were unable to run a mile. Food wasn’t bad but surely the kitchen door can remain closed whilst the restaurant is open. It truly marred our experience 😔

We had been walking around London and couldn't see anywhere we liked. Happened upon the Salt Yard by accident and what a brilliant accident it was. Great selection of food with extremely kind and helpful staff. The lamb dish and courgette dish were so good we ordered them again. A great meal and we will certainly be going back.

After the fiasco at a michelin star restaurant, we decided to go to Salt Yard. And boy oh boy, we had one of the best meal in London. All the dishes were nicely executed and tasty. We especially like the gambas (prawns) and the pulled cod dishes there. See attached pictures. The wine pairings were also excellent and the lady who attended to us made us feel so welcome. This is what good food and great atmosphere is all about. Highly recommended.

Hard to find anything to fault about Salt Yard - my favourite night out in a very long time. We arrived early & sat at the bar for drink - Cosmopolitan & and Blood Orange G&T. All good. Bar staff were working really hard but still had time to ask how we were. The food is to die for - favourites were the grilled chorizo with spiced chickpea pure & goats cheese mousse (heaven), gambas pil pil (perfect with the patatas bravas) and padron peppers. The chocolate fondant was wonderful too. We finished with amontillado sherry & coffees. Service was attentive & friendly. Dishes came out steadily and we didn't feel rushed. The wine was served at the perfect temperature. It's definitely expensive - but this is top class tapas & wow... it was definitely worth it.

Visted as a family. Great meal and really excellent service. Food is really good. Tapas dishes of great quality. Chorizo was a hit as was Patas Bravas and Churros. 9 dishes for 3 plus Churtos and some great wine. Highly recommended

We went to the Salt Yard for an early evening meal based on reviews we’d read. The team were super friendly and sat as at the bar to have a cocktail and read the menu. Without rushing, we were then shown our table. Although the tables are relatively close, it didn’t feel too intrusive and noise levels were fine even as the restaurant/bar got busier. We chose 6 tapas dishes between 2, which was a perfect amount. All our dishes were great, tasty and inventive. All served quickly and efficiently with courtesy. A lovely experience and would thoroughly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGood Location, great food
Having eaten at Opera Tavern previously adding in the great location for The Dominion Theatre, we decided to give Salt Yard a try, and we wasn’t disappointed!
What I loved was that even though a lot of the menu is similar to Opera Tavern, it was cooked differently, meaning the chef can show off his interpretation of the dish
We had chargrilled flat bread, charcuterie selection, pork belly, burrata with tomato and warm spice pesto and gambas pil pil, which was so nice we ordered another one!!
Finished off with churros and chocolate fondant
Good food, friendly staff, nice buzzy restaurant, excellent
Old fashioned, no passion and no appeal
Food was fast, drinks were slow. Atmosphere was nil. Some dishes were good, most were just ok. Feels like somewhere that may have once been good, and is now very perfunctory. There are far better places where passion delivers great quality experience. This is fine, but not worth the money or the time these days.

Good food, atmosphere and service… What more can you ask? Food arrived in good time and the waiter was attentive and friendly. My only gripe is that I found myself overcharged for my drink though that money can happily go towards the service that was provided.

A while since we visited this place and pleased to see that standards have not slipped. Great food with a pleasant service always wins the day

Went to this restaurant for a 30th birthday meal and was not disappointed. Our server was wonderful and very attentive, the food was beautiful and everyone had a lovely time. I ordered a couple of dishes twice because they were so tasty. Wasn’t overly expensive too. If I am ever back in the area I would definitely go again.
Definitely recommend, it is a gem!
Great food & great service!
Food and ambiance was great. Staff were extremely helpful and made good recommendations. Booths down stairs were a bit of a tight squeeze though and the toilets could be a bit better decorated.
