Great place to chill but no ice.
Great and friendly. There is not an ice machine available. I wanted to have ice for an injury I had but that wasn’t possible since there was and is no ice available for guests. That’s a bummer for me. Other than that, awesome. Nice comfy bed, interesting staff, super silent protection from the city sounds…making a good nights sleep possible.
Be the first to ReplyPrime Location, Impeccable Service, Cozy Rooms
I was thoroughly impressed by this Sonder’s exceptional location, impeccable service, and comfortable rooms. Situated in Tribeca, the hotel's prime location made it convenient for exploring the city's attractions. The staff's professionalism and attentiveness enhanced my experience, and the cozy and well-appointed rooms provided a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing.
Be the first to ReplyA very good experience
The property has a modern and nice design. The room is in all respects faithful to the photographs on the website: not very large but well furnished and equipped with everything (there are also iron and board, and a large screen with all the main streaming services). I appreciated that there was parquet flooring in the room, definitely preferable to the unhygienic carpeting. The staff is friendly and helpful; the app useful and functional. Drinks always available to guests (water, tea, coffee, chocolate) and umbrellas in free use. I personally agree with the decision not to clean the room daily unless requested, so as to keep costs down and avoid wasting water and energy. The only negative thing I found was the somewhat noisy heating. Also, the shower (which was nice and large) was dripping slightly. I didn't think this was a big problem, however, and in fact I didn't even inform the help desk about it (maybe if I had reported it they would have fixed it).
Be the first to ReplyStandard room. Great location.
As stated in many reviews, this is an apartment style accommodation rather than a true hotel. There is no breakfast, fresh coffee, daily housekeeping, 24hr attendant, etc. Other than that, the room and lobby were fine. It was safe and this location (Duane St) was wonderful for exploring Manhattan.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible business model - theft
The Sonder organization is terrible. The hotels are fine, but I have used them for both business and personal travel (a total of two trips). On the second, personal travel, I had charges for the room added to my corporate card that was on file for my previous business travel (buyer beware - they automatically charge any card added to the app). I called three times to have the charges changed from my corporate card to my personal card and each time they said they were doing it and never did. In the meantime, they charged both cards. Now I have paid the fees twice and no one from Sonder will help me. I am filing a case with the Better Business Bureau. Good luck, folks.
Be the first to ReplyGreat priced hotel!
Great experience and it was a very clean and quiet hotel. Good location and 1 block from subway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Big room for NY. Overall a great stay, good restaurants near, Odeon, Square diner and Bubby’s!! Thanks!!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place an at incredible price
Incredible place at an amazing price. Excellent gym! Great location with lots of cafes in the neighborhood and super nice staff in the building. Our room was bright and clean. We had no complaints during our stay. Would love to come back here.
Be the first to ReplyLiterally a better way to stay they aren’t lying
Amazing service for a great price. Seamless experience all around. Free coffee in the AM was super clutch and every staff member we encountered was super helpful. Only complaint is that the locks did not always work with the mobile key and sometimes had to manually type the code. We were moved from another Sonder location in Gowanus, Brooklyn but the A/C unit in our room was broken and rest of the building was full so they upgraded us to this location in Manhattan as well as gave us a $50 refund credit for transportation costs. Truly a delightful experience and will definitely be staying with Sonder again. For the affordable price the service we got was outstanding.
Be the first to Replymixed feelings about this hotel
I am not sure what I think about this Hotel as it feels more like an AirBnB and not a classic hotel. Reception is only staffed until 10 pm. You can get all the ammenities you need like toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo etc in the lobby in a storage closet. the rooms are spacious yet didn´t feel very clean. The bathroom tiles had heavy stains on them and the drain in the sink was clocked (room sevice should have noticed that prior to my arrival) the room will not be cleaned during your stay. while you have enough fresh towels a short sweep through at least every 2 to 3 days would have been nice. The area of the hotel is good and conveniently located. I didn´t like that you couldn´t open the window at all. sometimes you need fresh air. I understand that they are scared of people jumping out but you can block the window so it only opens a tiny bit. the aircon was hard to handle and no matter which temperature I set it to it remained the same. You can´t beat the price but I think my next stay in NY will def. be in a proper hotel with all the hotel ammenities.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect apartment living in TriBeCa
Sonder was perfect for us on a first time visit to New York. It’s location was great near the chambers street metro which had express trains uptown. Penny station was only 9 mins away on the subway and was in walking distance of Brooklyn bridge Chinatown little Italy and 9/11 memorial and walk street we loved every minute of Sonder and TriBeCa and will definitely rush back here
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to stay in Tribeca!
Very clean, efficient, conveniently located, friendly staff. The large windows provide great views of the city! It’s close to great restaurants and the Hudson Greenway, so in addition to having ready access to the subway, there’s a lot to do close by.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre average hotel
This is not a great hotel. It has weird self check in that is fine. The elevator was dirty with gum on the floor. The room itself has unclean windows and dated beat up furnishings. Plus, a tiny average bathroom that needs updating. The beds were modestly comfortable, and it had clearly been cleaned and taken care of. But if you’re looking for any sort of hotel that is nice in New York City, I would not recommend this. It is completely adequate and completely unexceptional.
Be the first to ReplyGreat stay
The staff was incredible and, after a cold shower the first night, the boiler was replaced and the stay was enjoyable. I got to speak with several of the employees and they were very kind and most willing to help.
Be the first to Replyquick stay over downtown
comfortable stay over. the windows are designed...how?...to keep the street sounds out. didn't hear one siren, or horn, and stayed only 4 floors above busy Church Street. the bed was comfortable. and i love love love not having to wonder where i put my key. it's my phone.... the staff is young and friendly and cool.
Be the first to ReplyA feel like home away from hone
First time i tried Sonder and i really like the concept. I need a place a few times a week close to work and i have no need nor interest for the cost associated with services (like breakfast) that i wont use. The room looks like a modern place that i could be called home. It was super quiet despite being next to an avenue. Bed was great. And the people at the front deck were super friendly. Sonder deserves credit but i wonder i am letting a good secret out!
Be the first to Replythe perfect place in NYC
when we came to Sonder in Tribeca we didn't expect all this: a spacious room with two bathrooms and with a fantastic shower, a large and comfortable bed with a view of the city, and really nice and helpful staff. Just around the corner there's a French bakery for a good start into the day, but there's coffee in the lobby too. In short: We had a wonderful week there and will definitely come back! :)
Be the first to ReplyNext time you visit NYC, this the place to stay!
This is the second time I have had the pleasure of staying at the Sonder in Tribeca. My favorite part of staying at this Sonder is the staff. They are friendly, professional and offer a kind of excellent, casual concierge service. The staff members made wonderful suggestions for restaurants, helped me navigate the city, and shared their knowledge of NYC from downtown to uptown. The rooms are lovely, very mid century modern. They are spotless with great beds, nice bathrooms, coffee makers and even a small fridge for a few groceries. The location is perfect, close to the subway that can take you to Lincoln Center, Park Ave, or even to Brooklyn. I found it very convenient to walk to Soho, the Village, to the Whitney and more. You will love the Sonder on Duane.
Be the first to ReplyGood experience all together
Comfortable, clean, friendly staff, everything I needed. I had a blockage in the sink and they fix in within 24 ho. Great location, privacy, all go’s easy with the app. I’ll definitely recommend and I’ll be back!
Be the first to ReplyThe most horrible hotel in New York - beware!
If you care about your personal belonging, basic cleaning, and working amenities - think twice before booking your stay with Sonder Duane. I stayed in Sonder Duane Street in New York in the second week of January, for what was supposed to be 5 nights - but I literally ran away from there after the second night. In short - Sonder had failed to meet any of the basic standards of a hotel or place of hospitality: Lack of Basic cleaning (the shower was not clean, rolls of hair remain from previous guests); Unusable basic amenities (A/C control was not functioning, hence - no heat at night with temp outside under 30F); Low level of maintenance (broken floor tiles next to the bed posing real safety hazard); and most important - Lacking the basic level of Security and Respect for guests and their personal belongings (Room Door was left wide open by the staff for more than 12 hours, after coming to fix the previous issues). I was traveling for business, as I do often for many years, and I had never in my life experienced a set of so many cases of negligence, as I experienced in the first 2 nights in the Sonder hotel. Arriving at night (22:30) to the room, I entered the shower to discover hair rolls and an unclean shower. Got out of the shower and tried to open the AC with heat - but the controller was not functioning (no receptionist at this hour). So the first I spent cold with no heat after the disgusting unclean shower. First thing in the morning I went to the receptionist showing her the issues. I left the hotel for the day, and after an hour - at 10 am - I received a text informing me that "the issues were solved". I got back to the room at 23:30 after a day of work - to discover the door wide open, with all my personal things in the room. I was afraid and felt like my personal space was breached and violated. So the second night I couldn't sleep as I was afraid that any person could have gone by my personal stuff and god knows what else. As a 'great' ending - I cut my feet on the broken floor tile walking from the bed to the shower. In the morning I packed my things and left, after explaining the receptionist that I couldn't stay in a place which is not safe. She confirmed that my room was left open for more than 12 hours, and said she understand my feeling. I wrote to them and asked for my money back, and so I was refunded for the nights that I didn't stay there (3 nights), but received an email from Sonder's Operation Manager, Mr Ren Frazer, informing me that "Unfortunately we will be unable to provide any further refund." as according to the mail, they were operating just fine... It is clear that this was my first and last stay in Sonder (after running from it after only 2 nights). I highly recommend to you - think twice before booking your stay with Sonder. Attached you can find photos of all the mentioned above and a video with the receptionist telling me the room was open for 12 hours and I should get the full compensation.
Be the first to ReplyJust loved spent a month
The place is near of a lot of things, metro, Whole Foods, FedEx, Broadway Street and many others. The stuff is super kind and made everything to make me feel comfortable. I had a problem with the AC but in the next day they went to solve it. Going to comeback for sure!
Be the first to ReplyElegant, sparkling clean, and friendly
This was my first stay at a Sonder Hotel. Based on a wonderful experience, I'm sure there will be many more. The room interior was elegant and restful, with high-end toiletries. We especially appreciated the large secure lockers available for luggage storage near the lobby. The staff was kind, friendly, and very helpful, offering proactively to assist with bags. Good job eveyone!
Be the first to ReplyGood location, bur worn out…
Central location, the rooms match the pictures in decorations. But are significantly smaller than they appear in pictures. A lot of noise from the hallway, worn-out showercabine, chair in the room etc. We are two persons and there is no room for our bags. Not a closet or anything to unpack in. Not even room for having the suitcases open. Contacted customer support because the door does not close tightly to the hallway so light and sound at night comes to the room, and the door to the bathroom squeaks awfull loud. They promise to check up on it, but never heard back. Tried to change room, But not possible. However, the bed is good and the people at the front desk are nice and smiling.

I loved the Sonder! Everything from the check-in process via the app to the stay was great. The rooms are small but really nice. The staff was exceptional. In this day and age to have complimentary water and all those little things we forget is PRICELESS! I felt valued and cared for as a customer. I will be looking for a Sonder everywhere I travel. They are set the bar very high. Thank you and See you soon!!!! Earlier check in would be better...I feel like I pay for a whole day and only get an evening. I had no where to go with my bags and things...so I had to arrive later. So the entire day is wasted although I pay for that full day.

Got a studio room for a night at Duane Street. It was lovely, the furniture and decor were very nice. The room I was in had 1.5 bathrooms and the bathroom with the shower was huge. There were 2 showers inside! Very nice room.
