Very professional manager, the best restaurant in Miami
The best restaurant in Miami and definitely one of the best in the US. Finding a place with real Italian food (not places with Alfredo pasta, pasta with meatballs or other American versions of original Italian recipes) is very difficult. In particular, the manager is one of the most professional people you can find in this field, in the US, in Italy and outside. His knowledge of food and wine is unbelievable, he takes care of all customers in a unique way.

The best Italian restaurant in Miami. Real Italian food and Italian vibes, not to mention the Italian manager; he is very professional and he really knows what he does; the way he takes care of the customers is unique, every restaurant should have such professional employees.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible service
Went there for the 3rd time on February 9th, cause the food is amazing but the service this last time was horrible. I already knew what I wanted to eat, cacio&pepe with trufles, but the server Sophi was rude and told us that we needed to order more food cause it wasnt enough. In the end, we couldnt eat the whole food, we left half in the plate. We did not tip, cause she was rude the whole time. When leaving, she pushed me while walking out of the restaurant and told me that the tip was not included in the bill. I told her that we did not like the service and she told me that it was mandatory out of respect. I ended up feeling forced to tip her. I didnt have any cash left so I paid with my credit card $40 tip cause it was the cheapest option ( 18%). I love the food but sadly will not be returning again because of the service which was not good at all.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the Hype or Price.
As a Grovite, I have always wanted to eat here based on the word of mouth. I finally went this past Saturday. Restaurant was bustling and alive and the service was very friendly and attentive. As of the food... I found it was well portioned but over-priced. We had the grilled Orato, for $50 which was tasteless and fishy. The salad was good but not exceptional for the price. If 2 people share an entree and a salad and each have a glass of wine, then I think $175 seems extreme.
Be the first to ReplyA hidden GEM In Coconut Grove, Miami! The BEST Italian seafood outside of Italy!
What a wonderful surprise to find this hidden gem in Coconut Grove, Miami! . I went there with my daughter, Christi Tasker, who is a candidate for City Commissioner in District 2 and we had THE most amazing dinner from beginning to end! The calamari was Superb- in true Italian style and my Papaardelle Al brazato with lamb shank was divine! The service and attention to detail was first class. At one point I closed my eyes and was transported back to Italy!
Be the first to ReplySuperb scallops, freshest fish and perfect pasta. A winner all around
Don't let the location fool you, this place is the real deal. Excellent and wicked fresh seafood, oysters, clams, scallops- everytihng top notch. Friendly family style service no pretensions allowed.

Upon a friend's recommendation decided to try it our for dinner. Glad we followed the recommendation. Despite some other reviews, we found the waiter excellent, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and its preparation. The Manager (?) stopped by the table to see how things were going. All in all a nice dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Italian restaurant
Fabulous find through TripAdvisor, walked by thinking this could not be the place, went to another restaurant, but so disappointed there so followed the advise and went to Sapore. From the outside looks are deceiving, sandwiched between at 24 pharmcy and nail salon. But ambience inside is Italian and food was amazing. Felt transported to Italy Sophia was very informative and service could not have been better. Food was truly Italian and surpassed our expectations!!

I have been to this restaurant twice. Each pasta dish was cooked improperly, Seafood quality and freshness pretty low.
Be the first to ReplyBest sea food we've ever had!
We traveled the US for a couple of weeks this December and January. This place was simply amazing! I had the salmon and my gilfriend had the king prawns (plus cheese platter). The service was excellent - and the food was just simply amazing!!! Great wine pairing too! We loved our server - who was super nice (and just the perfect amount of talkative - even giving us tips for when to evade traffic for our trip to the Keys the next day). This was the best meal we had on the trip - and we've eaten a lot of sea food (we're from Norway :D)! Everybody should pay this place a visit!
Be the first to ReplyFake Italian Service and Mediocre Food for Very High Prices
I hate writing reviews like this, especially for places I once really enjoyed, but what I experienced this past weekend at Sapore Di Mare was truly unacceptable. I came as a walk in reservation with my boyfriend for dinner. One of the specials of the night was a red fish puttanesca dish. Puttanesca is pretty much ALWAYS served with pasta, so I figured that is what the side dish was. Nobody told me anything different, so I never asked. When our food arrived, my red fish was served on a plate of puttanesca sauce and a tiny portion of potatoes and vegetables on the side. The vegetables and potatoes did not have the same sauce or flavor that the fish did and really it seemed like a total mismatch. I called over the blonde Italian woman who works there (owner possibly?) to discuss the confusion over the side dish. She immediately told my waiter who brought out a SIDE order of pasta. The pasta with the fish were decent. There were several bones in my fish which if prepared correctly should not have occurred. They did not apologize for the confusion over the dish despite the fact that it is a known fact that puttanesca typically comes with pasta, but beyond that, they charged us $16 for a SIDE DISH OF PASTA. I have lived in Miami for several years, and eat out frequently. I have no issue spending money on food, but to make a mistake like this, pretend to care about patrons, and then charge an arm and a leg for a side of pasta is just unforgivable. This is actually the second time I have had an issue at this restaurant. The last time we were there my mother's food was unbearably spicy and when she went to return it the waiter laughed at her while she turned red and had tears in her eyes from the amount of red pepper in her food. Ultimately, it is just not worth the fake Italian vibes. True Italian service is family oriented and would never make mistakes and not stand by the customers afterwards. If you want fantastic seafood travel to South Miami and try out Cafe Pastis. If you want great Italian food look no further than Narbona in Cocowalk, it is right up the road and the staff is always kind and receptive to their customers. I am sorry to do this, but it has to be said. I can only hope the owners/ managers read this and make some changes, but either way I likely will never be back.

This bustling Italian restaurant is the "real deal", the atmosphere, service and food exceeded our expectations by far. I owned and operated my own restaurant in the Caribbean for almost 40 years and am therefore extremely hard to please when it comes to food, it was SO refreshing to find a place that titillated my taste buds! Every bite was a taste sensation, each course beautifully presented and served with Italian flair. I don't usually order dessert, but after eating the delicious appetizers (we shared 2) and some perfect Dover sole I knew that their tiramisu would be outstanding and it WAS. Well done Sapore Di Mare!
Be the first to ReplyItalian restaurant friendly only to regular customers
We were passing through, we saw an Italian restaurant and as we were homesick for Italian food, we went inside. We got a Milanese cutlet. It wasn't bad but not great either. We have declared that we are Italian. We were served by a Spanish speaking waitress, What bothered us most was the total indifference of the owner who, knowing that we were Italians, didn't even deign to come and greet us, even though she welcomed her regular customers with great emphasis. We will never return.

Be the first to ReplyQuite nice, not madly special
Quite nice eaterie in Coconut Grove. Would not go out of my way to return but service is good, food average. Nice street to sit, eat and watch world go by.

Ordered pasta, branzino and risotto, and chocolate and cream dessert just great. Friendly efficient service.

I can’t find anything positive to say if our visit to this restaurant other than it was cozy. Each pasta dish was cooked improperly as well as the ingredients were I’ll proportioned. The bread was more like a breakfast cake. The zucchini blossoms were not detectable since they were covered in a heavy, greasy batter and served with tartar sauce… tartar sauce ?
Be the first to ReplyREALLY GOOD Italian Food
This restaurant was recommended by a friend.
We were 6 people and everybody love their food.
The calamari was really fresh and delicious!
Nice wine list.
Great atmosphere!
Seafood freshness below average
Overall average quality cuisine. Seafood quality and freshness is pretty low. One dish was really bad. One mussel was terrible, rotten. Service pretty weak (they forgot the utensils few times). But worse than anything we all had stomachache for the following 3 days starting from 2 hours from the meal. $70 per person for 2 dishes of this quality is kinda pricey but it’s not the main complain at all.
Be the first to ReplyCum laude experience
This is the authentic italian experience, Veronica brings you back to the old country and leads you through to the “made-in-italy” “savoir-faire”.
Incredible gourmet dishes like “cannolicchi”, impossible to find in Miami, people in-the-know understands!
Risotto nero with calamari rich and tasteful and perfectly cooked.
I highly recommended if you are ready for the through Italian “dolce-vita”.
Scam
I visited the restaurant - waiters I little arrogant. When I asked for the bill they brought me restaurant bill - I looked over and all seemed fine. I gave them my credit card then they brought me the credit card receipt and I noticed I was charged double on that receipt. Obviously I pointed it out and they charged the correct amount. I spoke to several of my friends that frequent the restaurant and they told me they had a similar experience. Be careful this restaurant might be scamming customer. Most people will only review the restaurant bill not their credit card receipt.
Be the first to ReplyIt isn’t worth it!!
The food they serve is as bad as the wine and the service !! We decided to give it a second chance to this place because some friends of ours wanted to try it. What a disappointment. It is as bad as the first time we were there.
A mediocre at best restaurant!!!
Excellent Italian restaurant!
We love this place! We make it a point to go almost every Friday (and even Saturday if possible). Excellent meat and cheese boards! Great wine selection at moderate prices. And the service is fantastic! All of the staff are very friendly. Roberta is an excellent hostess! We always feel like we are eating at home when we are there!
