È proprio come mangiare in Italia! Oh, sorry, thought I was in Italy for a second there... this place is absolutely legit! I just moved to Coconut Grove and I'm thrilled to have this gem so close by. I can't express how amazing my seafood with spaghetti was! The broth is worthy of just stopping and thanking the ocean and chef for the combined effort and skill to bring this dish together. Then there's the pasta itself which was absolutely perfect. Not just "Al dente" as everyone knows it should be, it was a beautiful color and the perfect chew. The dish also came out blazing hot and kept its heat while my partner and I enjoyed. She had the short rib ravioli and I could tell from the first bite that she went to heaven, actually, make that Tuscany! The other thing this place gets right is the warm, inviting hospitality that is at the core of Italian culture. Well done, Sapore di Mare... e auguri!

A nautical themed restaurant in Coconut Grove that never disappoints. Every time I go I get a consistent experience. Service is great and the food is always fresh. They have daily pasta and seafood specials with a rotational menu. Be sure to start with their bread. Their fresh baked focaccia with olive oil is amazing. I've been for both lunch and dinner. I highly recommend their pesto rigatoni. For a seafood/pasta option, try their classic Tagliolini Al Sapore Di Mare which has cherry tomatoes, mussels, clams, shrimp, and tender calamari. Their squid ink pasta is also delicious. They also have Cacio E Pepe which is off-menu and is prepared table-side. So good.

What took me so long to try it?! Simple but warm ambiance, very well prepared meals, huge (HUGE) portions and impeccable service. Note to self not to over order next time. You can easily share an entree and one appetizer can cover 3-4 people.

This place is truly a gem, and if we had more time we might would've even considered dining here twice. We had a date night here our first night and started off with the mussels and the tuna appetizer as well as a bottle of Amarone Della Valpolicella. The wine is one of our favorites and they decanted our bottle which was icing on the cake. The two appetizers were really the only disappointment of the night, hence only 4 stars. The tuna appetizer had little to no flavor and the mussels had several bad mussels in the bowl. For dinner I had the lobster ravioli which was truly out of this world and my husband had Cacio e Pepe which was one of the tastiness yet simplest Italian dish we've had in a while. We sat outside, it was a perfect night, and had the best service all around. For desert, we had a second bottle of Amarone

Top quality food, service and overall experience. The fried calamari was top notch. The cold cut special with burrata was amazing the for the main dish I had the squid ink with scallops and cherry tomato pasta. This was over the top. A+++++++. Spectacular restaurant. Highly recommend this place in Coconut Grove.

We had a rez for 8 the day before Valentines and the place was very busy. We saw the hostess and they took us to the back of the restaurant where they added more seating. The two servers back there seemed weeded and we weren't attended to for a little bit, to the point where we had to ask for at least some water and menus or to move inside. They didnt have anything available inside so we sat and waited to have service. The owner I think said we could have dessert on the house for being ignored which was very nice. We knew once we were attended to there would be great service, but were unsure why we kept getting walked past. After that, all was well! The food was divine as pictured! We shared a glass of cab, house wines were a little pricey all around $15 a glass, because we were really there for the food. The bread was amazing as well as my partner's dish, the oso bucco ravioli, not pictured. I'd love to return and try more of the menu!

The nutella biscotti desert was delish. Service could use improvement. Lots of waiting and uncertainty with directive but everyone was very sweet! Will try again.

If you want good food with exceptional customer service, then this is the place for you. I ate here with my girlfriend on 3/22/23 and immediately felt welcomed by the servers and owner. Besides the amazing customer service, the food was delicious and priced perfectly. Definitely worth every penny.

Located in the heart of Coconut Grove, Sapore di Mare is serving up reasonably priced, tasty, and hearty Italian dishes, and keeping the place packed even only a few weeks after opening their doors! We came with a large-ish party for a birthday celebration, and were pleased with the food and the service. We ended up sharing quite a few appetizers and pasta dishes, with the standout for me being the taglialini with truffles and mushroom that was a chalkboard special. The prices are super-reasonable, and even with ordering 4 bottles of wine, our party of 7 ended up walking out stuffed for about $50 a person. One complaint I have - we ordered a cheese board, and it was set out on the table with no explanation or articulation of what cheeses were which, which really would've been appreciated, since there were quite a few interesting options. But I'm looking forward to trying out more of Sapore di Mare's menu on future visits!

I absolutely loved our experience at Sapore di mare!! I came across this spot for the first time this past weekend and I am so happy we did. My friend and I were looking for some seafood and an Italian fare and this is exactly what Sapore offers. Everything we ordered from the menu was delicious! Look at the pictures for details. We ordered 2 bottles of wine with our meal and we could have had 2 more! We didn't want to leave! We ordered the carpaccio branzino. The squid, their famous pasta served inside a parmesana wheel and a nice salad on a bed of spinach with grilled shrimp. The service was immaculate! The ambiance has a homie feelings this is thanks to the lady who keeps it all together, if she's not the owner then she definitely deserves lots of recognition. She is the life of this place. So personable and happy. She really lights up the place. It's safe to say we will be back.

Angelo and Veronica were absolutely stellar in their energy, service and hospitality. Every dish was amazing. When in doubt try the specials. They were all amazing. Cannot wait to be back in Miami so we can return!

Lovely staff. Beautiful presentation. Flavors only simple, high quality ingredients and a great chef can produce. We'll be back!

Excellent from start to finish! Listen, I know how to cook and I love how to cook so when I choose to dine, I'm looking for an experience that includes great food, great service and a great ambiance! Sapore Di Mare delivered! I cannot believe I've lived in Miami all these years and didn't stop by. Angel, our server was excellent. The recommendations he made were exactly what we were looking for. Tonight I started with a special; the soup of the day that was so good I almost licked the bowl. I had the sapore seafood pasta that was nicely done. The only thing I added was some salt (I love salt) and it gave it the kick I was looking for. The seafood for each dish was fresh, fresh, fresh and cooked to perfection! The tiramisu was the perfect ending to the night. My guest enjoyed the Pinot Grigio while I enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc. For those New Zealand Sauvignon fans, this Italian twist was a good replacement. I've lived in Italy and frequented there upon my return to the USA, but I've never been transcended back to Italy like this before and they did it. Vicenzo, was excellent! The way he interacted with guests made the experience extra special. I felt like a star and he'd never met us before. It was wonderful and we can't wait to go back. Make a reservation! They accept walk-ins but a reservation definitely helps. Enjoy!

I've been here for lunch and dinner and always enjoy the bright atmosphere and nautical ambiance throughout the entire eatery. The servers greet you right away and bring focaccia bread with olive oil which is really good.I ordered the Sedanini al Pesto and was given the option to add chicken or shrimp if desired. The pasta was cooked al dente, but the flavor was slightly bland, even after salting it quite a bit. I did, however, enjoy the small bites of potatoes mixed into the dish. Probably wouldn't order again, though. As an entree, I ordered the Salmone alla Mediterranea. The salmon was delicious, perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. The seasonal veggies and potatoes that it came with paired really well with the fish. The tomato pesto sauce was great as well (you can tell I love pesto). They also have various pasta and seafood specials that are written on a chalkboard. Next time I visit, I will definitely be ordering off of their specials menu.

I had this place bookmarked for ages however hadn't gotten around to it because reservations are almost scarce. I finally went to it and I must say now I know why! It already became a favorite and I cannot wait to return to try other dishes. This little gem has been in the grove for many many years. Just a block away from Cocowalk, the grove has always been a favorite neighborhood of mine. Serving both Italian and seafood honestly you cannot go wrong with anything you order. We opted to sit outside because the weather was nice and the view is great for people watching. We started with the fried calamari and the grilled octopus. Both dishes were perfection, especially the octopus! Probably one of the best one we've ever tried. The serving portions are very, very reasonable that we pretty much got filled with the appetizers. We did want to try a dish so we decided to share the lobster ravioli. Another great dish. Extremely flavorful and the sauce was soooo yummy! Didn't have room for dessert, but seriously looking forward to coming back and trying their other dishes, especially the infamous Cacio E Pepe. Also want to mention the service was attentive and quick. Really enjoyed our Friday night at Sapore di Mare.
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Saturday around noon for lunch.
Had a reservation just in case it would be too busy, but there was plenty of room at noon. The chalkboard has their specials, which were explained in detail by our server; otherwise they have their paper menu for the food, and the digital kindle-like menu for the wines. I appreciate any place for complimentary bread, but especially love that place when it's good. Got complimentary focaccia for the table--warm, soft, and perfectly seasoned. Got the sparkling water ($7), tagliatelle al ragu ($24), and the risotto special ($39). The tagliatelle al ragu ($24): really shows how a basic dish could be great quality. The pasta had that perfect texture of being slightly firm but tender. The risotto special ($39): definitely stood out to me since it had half of a lobster. What really stood out to me was the creamy seafood sauce that was rich and filled with flavor. Definitely worth trying. Also if you are driving to get here, I'd avoid the parking lot across the street (still paybymobile) because I ended up paying ~$10 for 90 minutes--and only 30 minutes would have been $5. The parallel parking nearby is cheaper ($3/hr) so definitely would recommend that instead. The staff and environment were warm and inviting, adding to a fantastic eating experience. Overall, great quality Italian food, and good service! Will definitely return in the future!

Kind and helpful staff. A Little expensive like most places in Miami, but worth coming here.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious little Italian restaurant in Coconut Grove.
I walked in without a reservation on a Saturday for lunch and had no problem getting a table outside. The prices are a bit high, but the food is good. If you like octopus, I recommend ordering the Pollo alla Siciliana, which comes with a large piece of octopus. The Cacio e Pepe is served out of a cheese wheel in front of you so the presentation is nice. The Cacio e Pepe is heavy, but delicious. However, I added truffles to the Cacio e Pepe and did not taste them whatsoever, which was disappointing especially for the price.
