Overpriced and rude
The margarita pizza is $22 and another pizza with mushrooms, anchovies, prosciutto and pesto was $24. I added prosciutto and pesto to the margarita pizza and it became $37. When I asked why, I got a rude response and told I had no choice. I got told I should not have chosen that pizza and they “recommend I don’t do that next time”. My friend then got charged too much and they did not give her a refund. They were rude and dismissive of us
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for pasta lovers
I am a huge pasta lover and wanted good pasta during our trip to New York. We stumbled upon Serafina while exploring and wow.... it was amazing. Some of the best pasta I've had in a long time. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for Italian food in midtown Manhattan
We had a wonderful dinner here during a recent visit to NYC during the holidays. It's conveniently located on Broadway between the theater district and Central Park. The food and service were outstanding. We were there on a Saturday night and it was busy but it was just two of us and we were seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplySerafina - 55th Broadway
We came here at 5:15pm for an early dinner before heading to the Rangers V Islanders game at MSG. The restaurant was quite busy but not packed. Our server was quick and efficient. The food was absolutely delightful! I ordered their Gnocchi Di Mamma and it was delicious, satisfying and the tomato sauce it came in was very fresh. The restaurant is positioned on a very local corner of Broadway and 55th, so it was only a short walk from our hotel room.

Very good food. Wide variety of options on menu. Great salads, pasta was also very good. Cute local/casual vibe. Nice service

Delicious food, we had drinks, dinner and dessert for a family of 4. We all enjoyed our dinner very much. Would recommend this restaurant.

I enjoyed the food as well as the atmosphere. This place was very nice it was located in an nice location and when went in before dusk, so when we left it was quite dark and we still felt safe. The waite staff were very attentive to our needs as requested.

The steak is to die for. Pleasant atmosphere. Good staff. You can eat inside and outside in the covered area.
Be the first to Reply3 Stars for Food, 4th for Value
Service was fast making it a good pre-theatre option, and with pasta in the $20 range it was more reasonably priced than I expected given its reputation. Plentiful outdoor seating. The food was just okay. Bruschetta uninspired and a little soggy. Orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage - it was just the leaves, which seemed boiled down almost to slime but aside from that the flavor was good and nice texture on the pasta. I would give it a 2nd chance but mostly because of the cost. If it were any more expensive it wouldn't be worth the risk.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food, Poor Service
Pizza was very good and dishes were good but service was poor and we were automatically charged 20% tip bc 10 in party. But there was still a portion to add a tip - if you weren’t careful you’d add a tip. We were given dessert menus and then no one came back for over 15 minutes as if we were an afterthought.

We are in NYC to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary for a few days and are so glad we stumbled upon this little gem we got in on a Friday without booking as it is so large really authentic Italian with excellent service I had Octopus and their special chicken salad wine was a tad pricey in my opinion. Still, all in all, superb will try to get back before we return to Scotland.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to eat before Broadway
This restaurant is a great place to grab dinner before a Broadway show. The staff were amazing even when really busy. The food is very nice, the pasta Cacio e Pepe was some of the best I have had in New York. Fish and salads were all nice, desserts were good, pizza is hot and fresh. We enjoyed sitting on the sidewalk in the shaded tent that was sheltered from sun and wind.
Be the first to ReplyManager was unfriendly, and quite rude.
Manager was not happy that people were having fun, even though there was nobody else in the bar. Wait staff and bartenders were great though and apologized for her aggressive, rude behavior.

Great friendly service, great and nice like it is supposed to be.. the food is great and in a nice price range compared to others in this area.. I ate alone and even I had great dinner
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, service just ok
Food was great, we had Ravioli and spaghetti carbonara. It was delicious. Waiter treated us like we were an afterthought though, even though they weren’t that busy and he was standing around most of the time. Didn’t get bread like all tables around us, didn’t get an offer of Parmesan, and the maitre de is the only one who refilled our drinks, most of the time they sat empty. Would return for the food, just hope for a better waiter next time.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, but understaffed.
We had an excellent meal here after seeing a matinee. The food was fantastic. The calamari and meatballs for appetizers were a hit and all six of us had different pasta entrees and not a bite was left over.
The only issue was the service. It started off great, but as the restaurant filled it became obvious they were understaffed. Normally I’d take off more than one star but I understand the it’s still hard to find good staff post Covid. The servers were great, just slow to respond and clearly stretched thin. We had more than enough time to wait but for those who light have been heading to a show it might have been an issue.
Amazing food!
The staff was very friendly. Menu3 had some vegan and vegetarian options. The spaghetti squash dish was amazing. Our group ordered a variety of items from dalmon, creammy mushroom ravioli, sala, soup, and more. Everything was delicious, and many said it was the best meal they had in NYC. The sorbet was three scooops of three different flavors for only $10. I recommend you even just stop in for a dessert and a drink.
It took a long time to get our bill. I wish they served bread. Interesting arywork throughout.
Nice place, great italian
We arrived without a reservation, reservation recommended, they where still able to accommodate us. Ordered lasagna, mushroom risotto, spaghetti carbonara and salmon. Everything was amazing, service AAA.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is the star of the show
Our meals were delicious. However, our table was literally on top of other tables while other tables sat empty in more comfortable areas. It was almost as if our table was an afterthought and was in the way as guests and staff walked by. We were constantly getting bumped. It was very uncomfortable. Unlike other restaurants, staffing did not appear to be an issue. In fact, they had so many waiters that they were literally tripping over one another, yet they seemed totally disorganized. Service was very slow. Overall, the quality of the food may be enough to convince us to return.
Be the first to ReplyNice truffle pizza
They have all the protocols to deal with the social distancing. Temperature checks are taken, menu is virtual by scanning on your phone...
Service was good. A pretty decent spot for lunch, especially if you don't have a reservation and need some place to a last minute meal
Very disappointed
Booked a table online having viewed premised from outside. Very straightforward process.
Turned up on time and shown to our table. We ordered to start two glasses of the advertised Veuve Clicquot champagne. They did not have any…. Disappointed why advertise something you do not hold. They advised we could have Rose for the same price and we agreed. Disappointed that our meals arrived within 10 minutes of our order being taken , rather like a fast food restaurant. They asked if everything was fine with our meals although we had yet to take a bite. We explained we had only just received our meals and they did not check in with at any time after that. Tables are very close together and don’t really support social distancing guidelines considering covid cases in New York.
We received out bill 35 minutes after arrival even though we faffed around deciding what to have and suggested we did not have genuine Rose champagne as it was quite flat. They pulled out a bottle of open VC and said that this was in our glasses and although we didn’t feel confident of that point and the team were uninterested.
We paid our bill with only 18% tip and would have left with none but did wish to create a scene. We feel $112 including a tip for a burger and fries & lasagne without genuine bubbles wine was not best value.
Our advice would be, be careful of the drinks and food you order in this establishment.
We returned to our hotel to have a smooth glass of Sauvignon blanc for a fraction of our alcohol cost Very disappointed to say the least……
A bright light on Broadway
Well placed in the Broadway Theater district, we chose this venue based on it’s great reviews of Italian classics for our pre-show dinner. It is definitely a bright spot in a very well lit neighborhood.
It was an exceptionally cold day so we arrived earlier then reserved time to seek shelter from the elements. The sparkling, cheerful artistically illuminated interior was just as inviting as the hostess and manager at the helm— our request was accommodated with smiles.
I must remark on the exceptional speed and availability of the wait and serving staff, all scurrying about in the most polite and pleasant of ways. Very friendly, very accommodating and very appreciated!! No sooner had we ordered drinks than they were placed at our table, followed very quickly by the calamari and the meatballs ordered for appetizers. Both dishes satisfied and were well received
We all settled on pasta for our mains. My choice is highly recommended, the lobster heart shaped ravioli in a cream-based-tomato sauce— delicious, not too heavy. My son chose the carbonara where he swapped the spaghetti for the housemaid fettuccine. The flavor was out of this world, and the pasta just melted in the mouth. The deceptively smaller portion was extremely rich, not able to be finished in one sitting. My daughter had the penne Pomodoro which was light and fresh, although not entirely to her liking— could have used more sauce?
We finished with house made lemon sorbet, a tart start with a sweet finish. Perfect ending
Great start to our visit.
First night in town having finally been allowed to fly and this was perfect. We sat in their heated pavement area which was warm and cosy. Great menu choices, wife had pizza which she never goes and thoroughly enjoyed it and not really knowing what I wanted placed my trust in the waiter’s recommendation of ravioli and it was delicious. What with that and cocktails to start and liquors to finish, it made for a great start to our visit. Thank you
