Great Chinese Staples
Excellent Asian Dinner, Chef has two Michelin Stars a great place for spectacular food, the dumplings are hand made constantly in a glass room for you to see.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Shanghai Food
Really good Shanghai food, had the sweet and sour ribs, wonton soup, fat noodles with pork and the Xiao long bao. All the food was very good, noodles were my favourite, bao skins were a little bit on the thick side but plenty of soup and filling and still very good.

We came here for an early lunch. We tried to come here around 730pm two days before but they were about to close? They must have been fully booked? The speciality here is the Shao Long Bao. It did not disappoint. Get it!

Now expanding to Dallas and the Southwest Vegas Valley 4 years after opening, despite growing competition, it was as a party of five that diners once again enjoyed an outstanding meal at ShangHai Taste on Wednesday. Tucked inside Suite 104 of a two-story complex on the corner of Arville Street and Spring Mountain Road, a ground floor flagship since day one, it is upon entry that eyes are immediately drawn to Chinese-born Chefs working inside the restaurant’s glass prep-room, and with Chef Jimmy Li’s time at 3 Villages, 1900 Asian Cuisine and Niu Gu well-known to fans the fact that everything on-site is made from scratch should come as no surprise. Seating approximately 40 guests from 11:00am until 9:00pm seven-days-a-week it was with warm greetings that twelve items were received, many old favorites but also all-new head-on Shrimp and Fish Wonton Soup not enjoyed in a while. Affordable without skimping on Ingredients, all thanks to Chef Li and Joe Muscaglione’s dedication, a distinctive feel is ensured by the fact that almost every single item on-site is imported from or near Shanghai, and starting with Soup Dumplings, or XLB, fans will be happy to know ShangHai Taste’s set a high standard whether made with Pork, Shrimp, Crab or Beef. Able to accommodate most dietary preferences, fried Soup Dumplings in two varieties a winner to all but vegans, those eschewing all Animal products will likely gravitate to green Dumplings, though even more interesting bites are found in the form of Cold Bean Curd Noodles slicked in Scallion Oil, or now with XO Sauce and Shrimp. Built on family recipes handed down to Chef Li, his Fat Noodles with choice of Protein always a crowd-pleaser, Dumplings taste wonderful with or without spicy Oil or Soy while Fried Rice rivals the best in town thanks to bits of Chinese Sausage.

Their Chinese food here is very good quality. Must try their soup dumplings, steamed, fry versions. Try out what appeals to you from their pictorial menus. There's a limited seating area near the front entrance where you may sit and watch the workers making the food.
Be the first to ReplyShanghai Taste excellent Chinese cuisine without the need to be in Shanghai.
Shanghai Taste food is very labor intensive and they have some seating to watch the workers preparing the dumplings. Their food is really excellent for this relatively smallish dining restaurant. Upon arriving here, highly recommend that you taste their Xiao Long Bao steamed and fried versions at the minimum and explore from there depending on your hunger and space in your stomaches. Try to dine at least an hour prior to closing as their choices at limited closer to closing at 2100 hours. Come as a group to share more dishes.

Still doing good business despite growing competition, with Shanghai Plaza now one of the most difficult places to find parking in town, it was as a party of four that diners sat down to once again enjoy an outstanding meal at ShangHai Taste. Be the first to ReplyExcellent Dim Sum!
The best dim sum I've had outside of San Francisco!. Restaurant is small so I was glad we called ahead for a reservation. Still waited about 20 minutes for a table for four but it gave us priority over the line of walk-up people -- plus they let you fill out your order in advance, so dishes start to arrive as soon as you sit down. Dumplings are definitely the stars but the noodle dishes and soups were excellent too. We way over-ordered and took the leftovers home, so we ended up with two meals at a very reasonable price.

FIVE STARS: Chef Jimmy Li and Joe Muscaglione have created something truly special inside Shanghai Plaza, and those seeking Las Vegas’ best Shanghainese Cuisine will find no better than Shanghai Taste when accounting for cost, quality and customer service. RECOMMENDED: Sheng Jian, Kao Fu, XLB, House Fried Fat Noodles, Shanghai Style Pork Ribs, Steamed Mahi Mahi Dumplings. TIP: Open daily from 11:00am until 9:00pm. Call 702-570-6363 or hop on Yelp! to make reservations. No liquor license so Wine is BYO.

Be the first to ReplyThe BEST place for dumplings
Forget the other spots and offerings, this is the best by far to get XLB. I lived in shanghai for a long time and if I am in town I for sure come here. It truly is one of the top places to dine in Las Vegas

What a fantastic find off the strip. Lots of restaurants here but I think we struck lucky !!!! Had the Beef soup, Shanghai Duck and the fantastic pan fried soup dumplings... Yum Yum
Be the first to ReplyGreat food
The restaurant is located in Shanghai Plaza. Not far from the Strip. I was there for lunch. It was packed with diners. I ordered spear ribs, kaofu, crab XLB, and curry beef soup. They were all excellent. Service was good too. Highly recommend.

I been away almost two years , this area change so much , so many new plaza and different restaurants and different business open up ! nice to see the local business doing very well , my business associate want me to try the Shanghai Taste , no doubt she said I like it , locate in the Shanghai Plaza across the China town , lot of parking , restaurant not very big , but relax , airy , family run , and it is Jam packed , we wait almost half hours , menu is 100 % authentic Shanghai cuisine , their signature Steam dumpling delicious and flavourful , variety of dumpling , amazing taste , and the price are so cheap ! but the portion size little small , the best cold Shanghai Duck I ate for an while , so if you visiting China Town ,make sure you check this place out ! I very happy and full .

My wife and me are both from Shanghai, we always want to find good Shanghai food place as we go. It's surprising that Las Vegas has a such place. we ordered fried dumplings, 2 kinds of mini dumplings, curry beef soup and simple noodles. dumplings came with hot juice, very tasty, we loved it. the soup is not bad but plain, should have stronger curry and beef flavor, also noodles were not as good as in my memory, not much "葱味” i the noodles.

Many places have a limited menu if you’re vegan, which is to be expected. However, the food was mediocre. I don’t recommend this place.

What a great find! I loved sitting at the window table and watching the ladies carefully make all the dumplings perfectly by hand.
The real fun came when the food arrived! Highly recommend the szechuan dumplings so flavorful! Also loved the onion pancakes. The crab/soup dumplings are perfectly formed and so tasty. I had a wonderful meal for $30. On the strip the dumplings would have been fresh out of a frozen bag and cost 2x-3x more. I look forward to returning tomorrow for lunch.
Very easy to find in a large shopping center off Spring Mountain Road, lots of parking.
Great place for a good lunch
We went here for lunch with several family members, all from Indonesia, so the food choices were left up to the other members. Fresh dumplings, Xao Long Bao, Chopped Pork Tenderloin Soup with Potato and Bell pepper. It was all filling and tasted great.
Be the first to ReplyThe taste of Shanghai has landed in Vegas
Wonderful, wonderful, definitely delicious, worthy of multiple visits. Another restaurant added to my short list of restaurants to dine at.
Tasting their Shan Juan, pan fried soup dumplings reminded me of my dining experience when I visited Yang's Fried Dumpling on Ninbo Road in Shanghai with a large window to watching the cooking in large frying pans of those dumplings.
It's still a long distance away. Instead of applying for a Visa, buying an airline ticket for Shanghai, it's an airline ticket for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas' best choice in Chinatown
Still doing good business despite 50% occupancy restrictions, with Shanghai Plaza again the bustling marketplace it was prior to COVID-19, it was as a party of six that diners sat down to once again enjoy an outstanding meal at ShangHai Taste.
Tucked inside Suite 104 of a two-story complex on the corner of Arville Street and Spring Mountain Road, a ground floor flagship since day one, it is upon entry that eyes are immediately drawn to Chinese-born Chefs working inside the restaurant's glass prep-room, and with Chef Jimmy Li’s time at 3 Villages, 1900 Asian Cuisine and Niu Gu well-known to fans the fact that everything on-site is made from scratch should come as no surprise.
Seating approximately 30 guests with proper social distancing from 11:00am until 9:00pm seven-days-a-week, all staff clad in PPE, it was with greetings from partner Joe Muscaglione that thirteen items were received in the course of two hours, the majority old favorites but also four novelties.
Affordable without skimping on Ingredients, all thanks to Chef Li and Joe Muscaglione’s dedication, a distinctive feel is ensured by the fact that almost every single item on-site is imported from or near Shanghai, and starting with good Tea plus housemade Noodles fans of Soup Dumplings, or XLB, will be happy to know ShangHai Taste’s set a high standard whether made with Pork, Crab or recently-debuted Shrimp and Beef.
Able to accommodate most dietary preferences, fried Soup Dumplings in two varieties desirable to all but vegans, those eschewing all Animal products will likely gravitate to Steamed Dumplings filled with Herbs, though far more interesting bites are found in the form of steamed Wheat Gluten Kao Fu amidst Mushrooms and Cold Bean Curd Noodles with Housemade Scallion Oil.
Built on family recipes handed down to Chef Li, his House Fried Rice with choice of Protein always a crowd-pleaser, Fish Dumplings taste wonderful with or without Soup while Stir-fried Rice Cakes traditionally known as Chao Nian Gao and Bone-in Pork Ribs made Shanghai-style are meaty yet tender.
FIVE STARS: Back in top form as the vaccine rolls out, and practicing social distancing with all the right protocols, Chef Jimmy Li and Joe Muscaglione continue to provide Chinatown’s best Shanghainese Cuisine in terms of cost, quality and customer service.
Front Row Seat To Fresh Dumplings
Great experience! The restaurant is small, so make a reservation. There is a fun window with bar seating where you watch the dumplings get rolled and filled. All the food we tried was delicious - the traditional soup dumplings, pan fried, and crab yolk. Amazing customer service.
