Hands down my favourite Thai restaurant outside Thailand.
Run by a Thai family, the flavours are so authentic. In my opinion only Thai cuisine has a way to bring together a symphony of flavours with chilli, sweet, sour , savoury all in harmony. I have now been so many times, were it not a bit out of the way for us, would happily eat there every week. My favourite is the crab, clams, mussels, all the salads, and all the curries. They even had a fresh, raw seafood starter in winter last year, like a ceviche almost, was delicious. Order everything from the specials board. Book ahead it's a small place and only open in the evening, from Tue- Sun for two sittings only. They are also trying to sell the restaurant, which is sad because it is so good. So go soon, it's worth the trudge. They take only cash and is BYOB.

I came here multiple times but unfortunately a friend and myself were not allowed to even try the food. The worst part is they said it was due to capacity. However some people who came after without having booked simply sat down. The bad review is not based on not being able to get a place, but it is because of the rudeness and unfriendliness of the staff. It is actually quite unique in comparison to any other gastronomy business that I have ever been to. Thank God for them their food seems to be really good according to others. If not, I would have given 0 out of 5. Learn some manners, learn some human communication. We are not pieces of meat at a supermarket.

Original Thai cuisine served by people who have clearly had Thai food for generations upon generations. As soon as you walk into this humble restaurant you will inadvertently inhale and smell the fresh fragrance of chilli. There is wooden furniture and cultural decorations line the walls. The setting is uniquely authentic and the sense of a family business is nice to see. The food itself is refreshingly different from the conventional chains of Thai food and the ingredients seem simple yet fresh. I recommend looking at their Specials board before making a choice off their usual menu. There seems to be a subtle trend of adding egg and spice to most of the dishes but you can easily tell staff to tone down the chilli when ordering. In general I felt he food was rather "bitty", which is not an impression I am familiar with but I guess what I mean by that is that whilst there was a good variety of colour and the food was flavoursome, the textures did not combine particularly well: from the bits of egg with the moist aubergine, the dried vegetables with the dry pork belly, the raw vegetables/herbs with the liver, the lack of gravy texture with the curry, the difficult to find meat within the crab, to the bits of cocount with the coconut rice. Yet all-in-all the food comes across as freshly prepared, authentic and creative, making Singburi an interesting place to try.

Some friends and I had a spare hour before an event in the area the other night and decided to grab some food. The only highly reviewed place around was Singburi. Though it's a little out of the way, it was still bustling, always a good sign that it's a favourite for many around. Also, it's remote location made it more intimate and a good place to know for the future. I'm allergic to nuts which makes many Thai places difficult for me but the staff, all seemingly generations of the same family, were very accommodating. The food was all delicious and I would definitely recommend the Panang. The prices too were very good. My friend had a huge crab dish that was ยฃ12 that was easily the most expensive thing on the menu and according to her, 'well worth it'. The fact that it's BYOB also helps keep it very affordable. I would definitely return and hope to very soon!

What a fantastic place to spend a special evening! They offered a set menu for two @ ยฃ20 each which included four different types of starters and three varieties of main courses including chicken, giant prawns and an exquisite salmon. A huge selection of wines we're also available. The place is nicely decorated, with fancy golden mirrors and loads of Thai decorations, nothing fancy but neither offensive. The service is divine, no useless interruptions and happy contagious faces that make this place, worth the trip to Leytonstone high Just 30 minutes from Holborn in the central line.

From the outside, you wouldn't necessarily choose to visit this restaurant. Its nothing fancy, the decor is a bit old fashioned and the tables are somewhat crammed in. This can all be overlooked however, in light of the food, which is excellent. Cooked to perfection, there is a good selection of dishes - curries, noodles and rice, as well as starters and soups - at reasonable prices, and you can bring your own drink too which is an added bonus! Service is good, and the staff are friendly. If you're not fussy about the venue and you love thai food, I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe place is quite down to earth; nothing fancy.
I will even describe it as uninviting. However, once I tried the food, everything else is no longer an issue. It serves the best Thai food that I ever tried in London. Greatest massaman beef curry with sweet potatoes ever! Your can ever bring your own wine! The staff are very friendly and cheerful. Great service, fantastic food and reasonably priced, what more can I ask for! We usually spend about ยฃ15 per person with our own wine great value and great food!
