We had a Sunday brunch.
A good variety of small plate, perfect portion which allows us to try different dishes.Everything was so flavorful, highly recommend the fried chicken, I love the spice.Amazing food with excellent service, definitely come back.

5ambience: 4service: 2.8price: 2.5decided to come here for din before heading to a show at Thalia Hall across the street. didn't start off great from the empty waiting reception area where we waited for ~5 minutes before anyone came to help and seat us. the food was fine but nothing to call home about. the croquettes were pretty good. the rice cakes/pasta plate was decent but rice cakes were not saturated enough with flavour so you just got this chunk of chewy rice cake mostly. the cornbread madeleines were good. i got the fried chicken, which i'm beginning to see is a general theme in chicago restaurants where people just don't season or flavour the actual chicken before frying it. so you just kinda have this flavourless chicken and have to rely on the sauce or sides to spruce it up. not sure what that's all about, and the hit sauce wasn't very plentiful or particularly strong (i ended up taking some of my bf's sauce from the bibimbap so i could get some kick to the meal). the mushrooms in the bibimbap were pretty tasty. passed on dessert since we weren't wild about the main food. ambience was decent and dark, but overall everything is a little too precious and mysterious with the lack of signs to even know this is the right place (also lack of signs for the bathroom, so it seems like a theme ), and price seems a bit on the high side.

Party of 2 on a weeknight and not very crowded. The servings sizes are made for sharing so we placed our order with all our selections. Food was spaced out and served well timed but our actual server never came back. We wanted to order additional drinks twice and more food and asked the food servers for help. It took a very long time for cocktails and my husbands was incorrect and we weren't able to flag servers down for a correction. The food itself was hit and miss. The croquettes were great! Also ordered the burrata salad, noodles, fried chicken and short rib. The salad was ok but the chicken was bland even with hot sauce and rib had a very odd flavor. The best was the dessert! Had the trio with cheesecake, carrot cake and chocolate tarte/gelato and all were amazing. We got a bonus of rose gelato for birthday and coffee - I'd come back for all the desserts. If you're going to a show across the street keep in mind that dishes are spaced out and our service was slow. Took over two hours on a winter Tuesday.

This place deserves a Michelin star or two! We live so far away, but yet we can't stay away. They have a new American cuisine with Asian flair, that is truly revolutionary. Every dish is a statement where the contrast of textures and a perfect balance of flavors is achieved. Every dish has a moth watering presentation! A big winner for me personally, was their fantastic and extremely affordable wine list with a ton of by the glass choices! We had Amy take care of us and she was fantastic, just as passionate about the food as us! Chef's table experience uncovered clean and friendly kitchen where everyone gets along and has fun!
Be the first to Replyservice was amazing and the food was just as good.
wine selection was FIRE. was shocked at how good each wine paired with each dish.Miso soup was the star of the night. Had NO idea it would be LOADED with so much. shrimp, mussels AND a nice whitefish. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were perfect.Very nice ambience on top of everything else. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyFood is superb.
Staff is pretty good. Cocktails were tasty. It gets cold in winter apparently insulation is poor.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the best restaurants in Chicago hands down.
Everything was so delicious and the flavors are incredible. I will say the short rib hash was a bit salty for me and the bibimbap isn't anything special, so I'd get something else over the bibimbap next time. However, I will definitely be back very soon

I had high expectations because I LOVE Apolonia but was very disappointed. My entire party was. There were memorable plates but were glad to mark it off of our list.We also didn't get offered the tasting menu as an option while other friends of a different hue dining a few nights later did. We will stick to Apolonia and leave S.K.Y. on the corner we found it in.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I had a strange interaction with the manager.
We were waiting for the hostess to check for an available table when the manager walked over, handed us two menus, told us we could only sit at the bar, and then walked away. She looked displeased, which was odd to us. When we asked the hostess if we could be moved to one of the many empty tables, she said perhaps the manager was concerned about keeping tables open since it was the day before Valentine's day. Those tables remained empty throughout the whole Monday night. It wasn't a convincing reason and if it were true, it would be unfortunate because my friend and I were celebrating Valentine's day too, in our own way. I understand the hostess may have simply been trying to smooth the interaction over. The food and drinks were decent - some dishes were innovative and good while a few missed the mark - and the rest of the staff was reasonable if not kind and friendly; however, there are so many elevated dining spots even in the same neighborhood that treat patrons if not positively, at least neutrally. The bartender was gracious and welcoming -- a local who loves his neighborhood, which was the silver lining. The manager made us feel uncomfortable and not welcome, which we could only postulate may be based on how we looked? Never has this happened to me before, and it was an unfortunate experience. Since this is the first time that this has happened, I can say it doesn't feel good. I wouldn't return nor recommend this place to others. It's a shame as I wanted to like this place.
Be the first to ReplyFood is inventive and absolutely delicious.
Black and white croissant and deviled eggs are not to be missed. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, nice ambience.
I would recommend for dinner with friends or a date. My friends and I loved the everything from the Lobster Dumplings and Pork Belly to desert .
Be the first to ReplyThis place was pretty good, but overall they could have
This place was pretty good, but overall they could have done better with flavor as everything was a bit bland relative to the descriptions... We had a variety of items from the menu and the roasted maitake mushroom salad was the standout for me. Other items sampled were the marinated cucumbers, hamachi sashimi, sea bass and mediteranean bass... They were all decent but the cukes could have been marinated longer, the shashimi could have used a dash of mango-habanero salsa or something... and the two bass were just ok, one in a miso batter and the other fried (and where did they find such a tiny med sea bass, in lake Michigan???) rather than grilled. Service and ambiance were def 5 stars, food could have been better from what we tried.

Got a quick app and drink before going to a show last night and I'm still thinking about the truffle croquettes
Be the first to ReplyThe food was mediocre (e.
g., the duck confit flavors just did not make sense), and the service was quite bad for a restaurant at this price point.

This was a great place for drinks! We stopped by after dinner and ordered a couple of drinks here, and the place was super chill. Our cocktails were made with super fresh ingredients right in front of us, including when the bartender brรปlรฉed an orange as a garnish for my drink. The food menu was limited and nothing quite stuck out to me to make me want to come back for dinner, but the cocktail and liquor list was stellar.
Be the first to ReplyStopped in on a whim for drinks.
I sat at the bar so I did not get a good look at the entire restaurant. This spot seemed low key and chill. The ambiance was great although the dim lights made it a little hard to read the menu. My drink was good and strong! Check this place out if you are looking to grab a drink.

It's a very nice place but even if you dress it with diamonds, the looks can never match the service and food quality, I had a great combination of sake, lobster dumplings with olive oil butter and foie gras bibimbap. Hurry up and try this place because it's a treasure!
Be the first to ReplyThis is where my partner and I go for special occasions
This is where my partner and I go for special occasions because it's such a nice restaurant with such delicious food and at such a reasonable price (recently raised the brunch 3-course pre-fix from $27 to $34, which is still crazy reasonable for three delicious dishes). We've been for brunch multiple times and dinner once. What's insane there is the warm maiitake mushrooms, marinated cucumber salad, bacon and egg fried rice, garlic beef noodles, organic fried chicken, black truffle croquettes, and Maine lobster dumplings from the brunch menu. Then also the cornbread Madeline's, Rohan duck confit, and no longer on the menu, but the spicy kimchi salmon they had, also all insane. I could make another list of what all is just great, but that would be pretty much everything else on the menu. Seriously great food, this is the sort of restaurant you want to go to and try everything on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyI cannot express how INCREDIBLE this restaurant is.
Came with a group and we ordered basically the whole menu, every single thing we ate, everyone was speechless, saying wow this is so good. HIGHLY recommend!!! And Chef Steven is absolutely humble, talented, and welcoming. I can't wait to bring more friends here!!!
Be the first to ReplyI'm in love with the ambiance here.
It's moody & modern - perfect for date night or catching up with a small group of friends. S.K.Y. was PACKED on a Friday night which is a good sign for the restaurant, but it may have been the reason it took a pretty long time for each dish to arrive. This is the only thing I hope will improve in the future. Regardless, our server, Diego, and one of the managers, Luis, were amazing and so kind to my group the whole night. The food was delicious which already seems obvious. What I really want to say is, do NOT skip on the dessert menu. The black truffle pavlova was to. die. for. This was my first time having truffle in dessert form and it won't be my last. If you told me we were going to S.K.Y. just for the black truffle pavlova, I'd be there - no questions asked.
Be the first to ReplyRun, don't walk to S.
K.Y. this is one of the best meals I've had in Chicago, perhaps the best. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious, and the service is really wonderful as well. There are a selection of cocktails and a wine list with all sorts of wines I didn't good night, and the waiter brought by two wines to taste just based on the words "bright and not sweet," which were perfect. The meal. Each dish I had was beautifully curated, and was an innovative and surprising creation with flavors that danced. I truly believe that everything on the menu is likely as spectacular as what I had,,which included the lobster dumplings, the cornbread, the bi bim bap, the warm mushroom salad, the duck confit. Also, wildly affordable for this level of dining. This is the last meal kind of place. 1,000 stars.

First off, I have to say, parking around this area is pretty difficult to find (and this is coming from someone who lives in NYC). It took over half an hour to find parking, and so I called SKY, but it was hard to reach anyone to let them know I was coming late. However, when we got there, the food was pretty good.Lobster dumplings - pretty much amazing, and would highly recommend. The flavor was bold and delicious!SKY fried chicken - was a 5/5 for sure!!! Maybe dare I say it the best fried chicken dish at a nice restaurant I've ever had! The corn around it was sweet and flavorful, and the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, perfectly cooked. It had the perfect balance of sugar, salt, spice, and texture. It was so good that my sister, who kept saying she was full, also kept eating my dish!Other things I sampled from my family: seabass, foie gras bibimbap, and braised beef short rib. Out of those, the bibimbap was the one I would recommend the most only because it was unique. The other 2 dishes were pretty standard. Lastly, I thought it was kind of strange that they didn't do anything for birthdays (was celebrating my sister's birthday), but of course not a big deal. Was the place good? Yes. Would I tell people to go out of their way to come here? Maybe, maybe not, depends how much they like fried chicken and corn, because that would be the dish that I would highly recommend!

Amazing contemporary American restaurant with global and Asian influences. Excellent service and value. Everything was delicious but the highlights were the lobster dumplings and the Foie Gras Bibimbop. Love this place! Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI went on my own on a Sunday at 5pm.
Asked to sit at the bar which was empty so was perfect. Bartender and other staff were attentive and friendly. My drink was fantastic. The warm mushroom salad was soooo tasty. I also really enjoyed the Mediterranean seabass. Brussel sprouts were pretty good too. I have to say that the lobster dumplings were ok. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
