Awful!!!!
This was awful!!! We went for a sintillate brunch, it took 45 minutes to get drinks and an. Hour and 15 for food. The service was shocking and management t were very rude when we asked where our food and drinks were!! Do not go to this restaurant!!
Delicious and scenic.
Located on the banks on the Grand Union Canal, this modern restaurant offers amazing grill food and a Peruvian - Japanese lower dining level. Cocktails are amazing. We ordered burgers, steaks and appetizers. Really cool setting.
Amazing brunch top notch!
Brunch was the best I’ve ever had. Waiter very kind and gave great recommendations. Churros, salmon tartare, Greek salad, eggs were all perfect. Will be coming back for sure! Was worried when we saw recent reviews but I guess you have to think you only hear the best and worst on these sites so sometimes worth a punt especially for a good deal and beautiful surroundings.
A long waiting time for dinner also no waiter attended to us for one hour and no lift working for a Disabled person
We went to Smith & Grills this mothering Sunday the food was lovely and the service was okay it could of been better we were waiting one hour before they served our food and also we were waiting for a staff member to ask if we wanted another drink for a whole hour. What spoiled my whole experience was that my Husband went to use the toilet and he wanted to use the lift to get down as he is disabled they said to him that the lift is not working he would need to use the stairs. we were in this restaurant for nearly two hours and spent a lot of money and he could not use the toilet this is really not exceptable and it and they should not be discriminating disabled people wanting to use the toilet. I hope you look into this as all restaurants should have lifts available for Disabled PERSONS
Worst service ever
Front of house staff all looked like they just couldn't be bothered. Zero welcome, zero attentiveness. It was like we - and all the other guests - were invisible. Have any of these people had any service training? Totally clueless - Including the manager of the day who just didnt engage with guests or give any direction to staff when they we’re clearly very inexperienced and needed to be told how to wait tables / do their job to an acceptable standard. Definitely a restaurant not to return to - which is a shame as our meal was nice - At least the chefs seem to know what they are doing!
SINTILLATE BRUNCH - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Bad customer service as per other negative reviews rings true. Planned a brunch at Smiths Bar & Grill with Sintillate. Advertised as 90 mins all you can eat and drink. My guests arrived on time but were told they needed to order food within 30 minutes as last orders 4pm. Waited for 20minutes and they only got served water! They left due to lack of service and the weird vibe they got on the short time to order food. It ruined the birthday afternoon, and what puts the icing on the cake is management did not apologise or take responsibility when I made a complaint via email. The manager tried to claim that we had 60 mins to order food (which is not true) which is still not 90 mins bottomless. Customer service are hostile, and even the manager hung up the phone on me when he asked for a call with me to discuss what happened. No refund on the deposit was provided and i was gaslighted, made to feel like i was the problem. Complete lack of customer service and hostility. Signs of cowboys, book elsewhere and DONT BOOK - plenty of other places that will welcome you with open arms.

An okay experience. Food good and the service okay, though somewhat random. It appears that staff turnover is high so service might have improved or got worse by now. Recent reviews suggest the latter. When we dined, the service staff seemed to attend tables at random so we were served by three during the course of our dine. Two were bright but a third walked up to us when we were ready to order dessert and just said "Yes"with a naff attitude. We tried not to laugh but maybe he noticed so he was sulking even more which just made him look even more pathetic. Probably has left by now. Maybe the manager/owner should implement a more robust recruitment/training regime to filter out the duds. This place has the potential to be a really good restaurant if they try a bit harder. Can't really recommend and won't be visiting again, as we prefer a pleasanter environment in which to enjoy our food.
Give this one a miss
Very disappointing. Slow service with bar staff and waiters looking lost as to what they should be doing. Ribs were fine but the fruit salad was a joke, a diced apple doesn't make a fruit salad! There are other options nearby so I wouldn't pick this one again.
Rude receptionists.
Today, 21st January 2024, at 2pm, my friend and I walked in asking for a table of two and two girls at the reception asked if we had a reservation, we said no, and they said sorry we are fully booked. The restaurant was empty, there were many empty tables and more or less ten people eating. They could have taken our phone number or informed us to come back in half an hour. No idea who hired these people!!

I’ve never posted a bad review before, but was so taken aback by this experience that I wanted to express it so others could think twice before they book. The entire lunch felt so rushed, with the waiter not even saying hello or smiling at us when we sat down, but instead pestering us three times until we ordered with him (our table was booked at 1pm and we were forced to order both drinks and food at 1:03pm). It was obvious that we were unwelcome from the beginning, with the staff treating us as if we were an inconvenience, and clearly wanted us in and out as quickly as possible. Our food was lukewarm and mediocre, and when I asked for some extra gravy, I was looked at with disgust by a staff member, and then charged an extra £1 for the privilege. When it came to paying, my friends and I had been treated so badly that we didn’t want to pay the service charge (none of us had ever refused this before, but we’d had such a terrible time we felt that it was the correct thing to do). When i very politely began explaining this to the waiter, he actually WALKED AWAY from me mid sentence! Just walked off when I was in the middle of talking to him (deliberately too I might add, there was no way it was done by accident). I have never seen wait staff be so rude, and as a fellow hospitality worker (of over 10 years) I was so shocked. The entire experience left my party and I feeling so uncomfortable. It was without doubt the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had, and when paying over £20 for a meal, it was definitely not worth it, I would give it 0 stars if I could. I take no pleasure in leaving a negative review, but I really hope this place takes it on board and works harder to give guests a better experience, although I’m sure I would’ve received much better service had I ordered the most expensive bottle of wine…
