Fantastic sushi and "i love sota" concept
There were 8 of us in to eat "i love sota" on a Wednesday, and it was simply wonderful. It worked great with the notes you wrote on, and the waiter was good at providing guidance on the sushi. You could taste that the fish was really fresh, and even though the place is a price range above many other "ad libitum sushi concepts", this was well expressed through the quality. The sushi also came quickly - of course there weren't that many people in the restaurant that evening either - but I couldn't put a finger on the food. The only thing that could be different is that some things appear on the menu but not on the note you order from. In addition, a cheaper bottle of wine or two, so you can order a bottle of wine without having to part with so much, if that's what you want.

Very delicious food and absolutely wonderful staff! Mega good menu they have put together, where you not only get sushi, but also everything you didn't know you were missing!

Really good service who took the time to guide and gave us time to decide - it was difficult with all the choices! We chose a MOTTO menu, which was really delicious - especially the starters.

The absolute best Japanese food in Aarhus! Not only is the sushi the best in Aarhus, but the izakaya dishes are insanely good! A must-visit in Aarhus.

Best. Sushi. Ever. Og I were here another night, I’d come back tomorrow. If you go to Aarhus, do NOT miss this opportunity to experience sushi worth dying for.

Best sushi in Aarhus Saying it is the best place requires that you have tried most sushi restaurants in Aarhus otherwise how can you even compare?? SOTA is absolutely the best sushi restaurant in Aarhus. The quality is high and the service is awesome.
Be the first to ReplyGreat foodie experience but takes advantage by grossly profiting on tap water.
This was our second visit to Sota Bar and the food was fantastic. It’s not easy to find Japanese restaurants in Denmark that specialize in more than great rolls. The ambience is also great in what is also a very well laid out space that makes it feel quaint, cozy yet eclectic. That said, where this establishment utterly fails to live up to the 5 stars that would make it truly great, is not being transparent about its pricing for tap water. We ordered our food and drinks, but weren’t asked whether we wanted water for the table - I politely asked for tap water for the table moments later and for a refill later during our meal. Its customary in Denmark to charge a symbolic one-off fee for tap water, and while I disagree with this policy, its just how many choose to operate. To our surprise however, we were charged 2x 35dkk for the two bottles (one was 750ml and the other 500ml). No where on the menu did it state a price for tap water, nor were we informed when we asked to tap water. I understand you want to charge the table if people enter the restaurant and don’t eat or drink anything, but this practice I’ve only experienced by establishments that have a lower standard of etiquette practice. A real shame for what could otherwise be an opportunity to lift the high of the experience and build more long-term loyalty. I would expect more of a place that clearly wants to position itself as being more on the premium side of Japanese cuisine.

This is still the best Sushi in town. Nothing have changed even though the competetion is getting bigger.
But Sota are still in the lead - on site dining or take away. Great, fresh and tasty.
prices are reasonable for sure.
If you are dining in their option to eat whatever you can for a fixed price is quite attractive. A lot to chose from. And all the great stuff.
Sometimes still the service is a little too slow. Or maybe just a little too young. But not a big thing.
