I took a cooking class at the Tampa location and I didn't have a good experience. They overbook the classes so there's like 4 people per workstation. What that looks like is one person puts in one ingredient, then the other the next. It's like a grade school experience when you're learning a trade etc. Also, they attempted to separate me and my party which would have made it far worse. I definitely wouldn't describe the class as a fun activity. Pay more $ for a better experience somewhere else where you won't be crammed together trying to learn.

Overall this was a huge bummer and ruined our anniversary to be frank. We are teachers and $190 is a large expense for us. We recognize that we are paying for the chef and the overall cooking class experience, but it is advertised as somewhat of a meal. This was a sampling (photos included) and we ultimately had to go to lunch after our most expensive meal of the year. Disclaimer #1: We have done classes here before and could've had leftovers. I don't know if the portion size was terrible because it was a lunchtime class or because it was a small group, but this was 100% not worth a fraction of the cost. Another Disclaimer: Chef was enthusiastic, engaging and fun. He did nothing wrong and was fantastic. Otherwise: 0/10 do not recommend. The rating is mainly from the disparity between the cooking class description (language & photos) vs. reality of the experience. We would have been disappointed even if the manager, Kelly, was polite or apologetic (hell, she could've just blamed the situation on corporate). Our frustration was exacerbated by Kelly's response, reiteration that they could not have erred (it's an automated process) and her ask for a burden of proof (via photo) that the portion was inadequate. Funnily enough, the portion was so egregious that I took pictures during the plating. I showed the pictures to the manager, Kelly, who said that without a photo of the other group's food, we had to, again, be in the wrong. NOTE: In what world should I have interrupted another couple to take a photo of their portion? Let alone for the purpose of filing a complaint. Also while trying to remain positive for the sake of our anniversary experience. Kelly also emphasized that she could not give us a partial credit, BOGO on another class (in which case we would give them another $95) or anything else to remedy the poor experience (Final Note: we did not ask for a refund). In fact, those solutions were presented by us. Kelly just repeatedly told us that there was nothing she could do and that everything is pre-measured and that there was no way they could have erred. Take a look at the photos for yourself. Don't waste your money here. Go to Bern's for your anniversary. It is cheaper + you get the best steak in town + you get world class wine + a white glove experience vs. getting told that you are in the wrong for a poor experience. @Sur La Table Tampa - please feel free to call me with any questions / desired feedback given this very poor experience. I loved the store in Sarasota and shopped there often.
Unfortunately it closed, but because of my positive experiences, I decided to order online. I wasn't at all satisfied with my purchase and am on day 5 of unanswered emails and several unhelpful phone calls regarding my return. I'm now told it's a UPS glitch and should try again tomorrow! Never again!

Horribly unprofessional retail experience that has made me rethink ever patronizing this storefront again. Sale associate was unapologetically the rudest person I have ever met in a upscale retail setting for no reason at all. After her snapping at me multiple times during a transaction I finally told her I did not want the item I was returning and didn't care about the refund I walked out and called to complain to the manager, at which point the manager defended sales persons irrational behavior and told me I was at fault according to other customers who "complained" about me being rude...? Weirdest complaint I have ever experienced and concerned that corporate is ok with this type of situation in their retail stores, maybe it's because employees are hard to find??? It's a shame because I used to love going to their cooking classes and par-oozing the shop after but will never be back again after this nightmare-y situation, beware, apparently I'm not the only one who has experienced their employees unhinged behavior :-/

My husband and I were in the area for lunch and we decided to check out the store. The staff was very kind and welcoming the selection of kitchen supplies and gadgets and such was awesome. You can't help but want to purchase something and of course we did. I am so glad that we were able to find what we had been looking for for quite a while, which was a wok and some utensils for it, I will definitely return to this location for more of my kitchen needs because I am changing the aesthetics of my kitchen and I saw so many things in there that would fit perfectly. I really liked this store and I highly recommend it.

I made a reservation a month in advance, received a confirmation number at check only to be told my reservation failed but no notification of anything failing. At the time of making the reservation, I assumed I would receive a confirmation email and didn't write the order number down which is a requirement to check your reservation online. When calling the restaurant to confirm everything was all set, I was told I would have to contact customer service because they did not have me on the roster. The gentleman I spoke with was absolutely horrible. After calling and speaking with 3 different customer support reps, they were finally able to track down my reservation and stated the reservation failed but could not tell me why or how. I've been wanting to visit Sur La Table for years and at this point, I do not care to go at all. Their customer support sucks and their onsite staff seems to be even worse. I wish I would have caught the gentlemans name I spoke with on the phone because he actually ruined the entire experience for me. For the price of each cooking class, you'd think they would have decent staff. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!
My kids did Baking 101 Camp here and it was a SMASH HIT!!
My kids did Baking 101 Camp here and it was a SMASH HIT!! They learned to make things we've never attempted at home (quiche, raviolis, etc) and really gained confidence in the kitchen. Worked well for daughter and son- I think the camp was split 8 girls/4 boys. We will be back next year! Bonus: I got my knives sharpened at Sur La Table that week, so checked off an overdue task!
We signed my daughter for a summer series cooking class.
She learned how to make homemade pasta, fresh spring rolls, chopped salad, sushi rolls and American classics. She really enjoyed the samplings of the foods they made and had allot of fun making everything as well as making new friends. They offer allot of summer classes for little kids and teen series. I always thought it was for adults only date night events. But these are great for the kids looking to learn a new experience. Lots of wonderful cooking supplies sold in store. Kids got to take home their aprons and got recipes of the items they made. Great experience

This review is based off the cooking class that sur la table offers :) My husband and I came here for a South American theme dinner. Neither myself or my husband are professionals by any means - which is why we decided to come here and take a cooking class ! We had so much fun and the experience was amazing. The chef we had was awesome ! He took his time and even more time with my husband and myself because we are beginners. They provide all the ingredients for you and you literally make everything. The seasoning, the sauces, so you really feel like a chef. We were there with five other couples and everyone was so nice and it was overall a great experience. I highly recommend for a date night or even just a girls night. You can also bring your own wine and drink while you cook. We will def be back !

I was waiting on the transfer for name but it hasn’t happened yet and my reservation is tonight , will it be an issue that is hasn’t changed into my name yet

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
