I've eaten sushi all over the Bay Area and Japan. All the good sushi joints are run and owned by the Japanese. Sushi is an art that requires many hours/years of training. And the Japanese inner circle all go to the same Japanese owned spots. I live near this joint so I thought I'd give it a try. I noticed immediately the chefs aren't Japanese. Then I noticed the rice consistency wasn't right. Then I noticed the waiter didn't understand personal space when exchanging plates. They didn't provide soy sauce or wasabi. I asked for some and was charged. Not very classy given the price of omasake. The waiter was very pushy about ordering more and saying it was last call. We had dinner at 530pm. No class at all. Not something the Japanese would do. There was hair on a piece of my sushi. Totally ruined my experience. I give them credit for trying. But the sushi and the whole experience wasn't authentic Japanese for me. And class is something they don't have. Not coming back.
