Sushi no Midori Ginza Chuo City Reviews from The Last Year
Poor Management
We waited over an hour and never got near a table while being able to see multiple empty tables with Reserved signs on them. I get that people can book ahead and this takes precedence but if they don’t turn up after an hour, surely they should give the table away. They were also making take out orders which slowed down the table service and the lack of staff clearing off the tables prevented others coming in. This restaurant tends to years ago was an icon and it’s a shame that bad management is likely to destroy that reputation.
Used to be better
Went for an earlly dinner . We selected the Chef recommended set. This time it was just ok, we felt previous times the quality was better. I try to do a stop here everytime i go to Tokyo but this time it was a miss, not sure due to the fish quality (as it was a Sunday) or because this became a beaten path for foreigners visiting Tokyo. It is always annoyingly full and waiting can go up to 2 hours....Previously even the wait paid off for the tastiness...this time it was a miss. Sushi Zanmai at Shinbashi was better. Hoping it was just an unlucky day.Nothing wrong with the sushi , it is still a good sushi, we liked the crab filling salad, this is consistently a no miss.
Forget this place
Would like to rate 0 star if l could! There are many other places in Tokyo serving better sushi! Don’t waste your time and money in this place!
Not Foreigner Friendly
Was there during lunch time twice. The same experience, as a foreigner, got noticeable much thinner and smaller cuts on the sushi than the local Japanese people sitting at the tables next to me. Same for the tuna sashimi which I ordered. In addition, also had to wait much longer for my orders to arrive than locals ordering at the same time. Will never go to this place again. Before was once at the Midori at Shibuya, and did not have these issues.
My favourite sushi place in Tokyo
My favourite place for high quality sushis in Tokyo. I always come back, never disappointed... You need to come early, take a ticket at the machine outside and wait to be called - lunch might be easier to get a spot. Eventually check if reservations are possible (not sure)
Overhyped
We waited almost 2 hours outside and then another hour inside. By the time our sushis were served we were so starved that we couldn't appreciate them any more. A dessert was included in our menu, but never served. The sushis are good, but the restaurants shouldn't accept so many customers if the are not capable of honoring their orders.
1.5 hour waiting time. Sushi too big to enjoy.
I arrived on a Wednesday at 18:05. The waiting line was already huge. 1.5 hours later, at 19:35, it was finally my turn. At 19:15, while I was still waiting outside, the staff put a sign on the entrance door stating the waiting list was full and they would not accept new customers that evening. The staff was super friendly. When I entered the restaurant, all cooks cheered. They do this every time a customer walks in. Given the extremely long waiting time, I was surprised to see several empty tables. I was impressed by how fast they served my order though. In less than 30 min. I was done eating and on my way out. The quality of the food was good, especially the tuna sashimi and grilled eel. However, the maki were 4x bigger than the average maki, because of which eating them was extremely difficult. Eating a gigantic maki that fits for only 25% in your mouth while using chopsticks naturally results in a big mess. I don't know if it's their signature dish to serve gigantic sushi pieces, but it ruined my dinner experience. I felt uncomfortable, messy and awkward. Was it worth it to wait 1.5 hours to eat here? No. There are plenty of sushi places in Tokyo in the same price range that serve the same or even better quality food. Not sure why Sushi No Midori is so popular.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
