Such a great spot! We went pre theater and we loved it.
The salsa was texturally light but bold in flavor. The hamachi was fresh, well portioned and well seasoned with a balance of citrus and heat. The birria was rich and had a lot of depth and our drink (la piรฑa niรฑa) was very refreshing. Our waitress was extremely nice and the ambiance was perfectly rustic. We're really looking forward to going back so we can try all the other things we wanted to get!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Tacuba in Hell's Kitchen, New York, and I have to say it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The restaurant itself seemed nice enough, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. However, the food and drink were extremely overpriced and, in the case of the fish tacos, downright dangerous. To start, I ordered six tacos and two drinks, which cost a whopping $82. While I understand that New York City can be expensive, this seemed like an outrageous price for such a simple meal. However, I was willing to overlook the cost if the food was good. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The fish tacos I ordered were clearly not prepared well. The fish was overcooked and tasted almost spoiled, as if they were sitting out for a few days!!! Within hours of eating them, I began to feel extremely ill and experienced an entire night of vomiting and sickness. It was clear that something was seriously wrong with the food I had eaten at Tacuba. Fortunately for you Tacuba, I did not visit the ER...Even beyond the terrible quality of the fish tacos, the other tacos I ordered were bland and uninspired. The portions were small and not at all filling, making the high price even more difficult to justify. The drinks were also lackluster, with little flavor and no alcohol to speak of.Overall, my experience at Tacuba was an absolute disappointment. Between the high prices and the poor quality food, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. In fact, I would warn others to stay far away from this restaurant, as it seems clear that they are unaware of the value they cannot deliver...

THIS PLACE ACCOMMODATED 20 OF US in short notice and with such grace. They were also very happy to accommodate us and they made us feel very well taken care of. Besides that fact, food was great! Steak Burrito which I personally had was by far the best- because yes you can easily mess up a burrito and comes out blant but theirs was good- the steak was tender and tasty. Our group mostly had the Mole and the tacos which was also very tasted. Guac was the star of the night, so good!

The bar was packed. We had a nice table for 3 in the back. Enjoyed the chips and guacamole and tacos.

Loved this find in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York, free of the Times Square tourist traps. Tacuba had great service as everyone was friendly, accommodating, and gave great recommendations- even despite it being busy. They had expanded outdoor seating and so we were able to take in some of the sites and people watching - Bar Nine across the street had live music so we were able to benefit from that. Cocktails were great and the food was really tasty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the mole enchiladas and octopus and chorizo tacos. Great find!

Super cute spot with Spanish music and good vibes and great prices. The cocktails are strong but still balanced well. Although the food I ordered had good flavors they were over cooked:(Ordered the oyster tomato based ceviche (I was feeling adventurous) although the tomato base grew on me the oysters weren't fresh and the shrimp was over cooked as if it was precooked (pink almost orange). The suadero (brisket) taco unfortunately was also well(over) cooked making the chewing experience last far too long. This was a shame because the masa is so freakin good. The dessert too was a miss :/ the meringue on the tres leches is yummy and thankfully not too sweet but something went wrong with the cake. First there was no lemon taste (to me. My partner claimed they tasted a hint but said they tasted it in the merengue...). Secondly either the oven wasn't the right temp or the butter was overworked but the cake was chewy/dry not spongy:(Overall the delicious homemade tortillas and cocktails are what Id return for and hopeful my next meal isn't overdone:)

Great place if you want to eat good Mexican food and have a good time! Great music, service, and good vibes! We got seated right away. We started with the spicy guacamole and salsa, I got a house Margarita and my boyfriend got the La Brujita drink. Definitely recommend the spicy guacamole, great flavor and you get a little kick from the jalapeรฑos. If you like Smokey drinks La brujita is a great option. If you like Margaritas, I recommend the Passion Fruit Marg.We then got the Sudadera Tacos and the Barrรญa Tacos. They bring three tacos with their corn tortillas. I'm not a fan of corn tortillas but theirs are amazing! The only reason why I give this place a 4 stars it's because of the dessert; great presentation but very tasteless for a tres leches.

A bunch of us celebrated galentines day at Tacuba and the food did not disappoint. We ordered a few appetizers and entrees to share. The drink menu was extensive and they will make any drink without alcohol. I ordered a virgin La Sandia and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I love watermelon so this was the best recommendation from the server. The servers were so nice and attentive from replacing our plates with new ones to offering to move things out of the way etc. We had an awesome time. What we ordered:Guacamole and chips, a must at any Mexican restaurant. The guac had a slight kick and the orange sauce that came with it was fire. Tostado de pulpo is amazing. I would come back just to have 5 of these because it was so good. Add some lime and the tostado is bursting with flavors. 10/10 recommend. Calle de hacha was so creamy. Sea scallops cooked to perfection and another great dish to share. Molcajete with the steak, chicken, shrimp, cactus and cheese, yummm. There were so many ingredients in this bowl melded together that tasted so good together. Finally, we ordered the Birria con consume and although it was messy to eat, it was delicious. The restaurant had great music and plenty of seating. I just wish the lighting upstairs was a bit brighter because we were seated towards the back. Get there early for the happy hour specials!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance of the restaurant is just perfect.
The decor is chic and modern, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends or a romantic date, this restaurant is a great option. The music is another highlight of this restaurant. It creates the perfect mood for dining and is not too loud to disturb your conversations. You'll hear a mix of modern and classic tunes that add to the overall enjoyable experience. The service is exceptional, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They are always there to help and ensure that your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations based on your preferences. The food at this restaurant is nothing short of amazing. You mentioned that the frozen margaritas and tacos are a must-try, and I couldn't agree more. The frozen margaritas are blended to perfection and come in different flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The tacos are equally delicious, and there's a wide variety to choose from. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are well balanced, making every bite a delightful experience. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance, music, service, and food are all top-notch and make for a memorable experience. Don't forget to try the frozen margaritas and tacos - they are truly to die for!
Be the first to ReplyIncredible food and service.
I recently used Tacuba to cater an event at my apartment (we don't live within their delivery zone but they still made it work). Tacos, burritos, guacamole, etc all fantastic.

This restaurant was very very good! To begin with, they mediately had the water out and ready to go! (This is important because I am always dehydrated.) The appetizers and food came out quickly but not too quickly. The drinks...... amazing. Need I say more? No? Well I will anyway. Very well balanced and they came out quickly too! The food............ my saudero tacos were juiiiiccyy and flavorFUL. The brisket was perfectly cooked and the guacamole was on point. Got the spicy one but it was super spicy... it was just fresh jalapeรฑo chopped up in there. ย 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone looking for a yummy taco around Hell's Kitchen!

If you're looking for delicious Mexican food in a exciting, modern environment, look no further than Tacuba. Everything I tasted was absolutely delicious. The mango margarita was almost like a smoothie: it was so flavorful and easy to drink! We ordered chips and guacamole to start, and I honestly think it was some of the best guacamole I've ever tried. It was so fresh and had a great level of creaminess and acidity! For my meal, I ordered the Birria tacos. All the tacos come with three individual tacos, and run between $14 and $18. Honestly, the best way I can describe Birria is a flavor explosion. The meat was so tender, and the entire taco was a cheesy bite of deliciousness. There was also a dipping sauce that complemented the tacos perfectly and added more juiciness to every bite. The dish was a little spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to satisfy any Mexican cravings!

nachos were plentiful and well constructed, frozen margarita was yummy, fish tacos were well balanced and delicious. ย the enchiladas with mole, i thought, was the weakest dish of the night, but still solid. ย overall a great meal and well executed food.
Be the first to ReplyThe place is clean, and nice.
The bar had a wide variety. The workers are friendly and welcoming. The food came to us in like 15 minutes, and everything was delicious. Family friendly place. Super recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI went into Tacuba with high hopes of a 5 star experience
I went into Tacuba with high hopes of a 5 star experience given their menu and vast selection of tequilas. If it were just about the food and drinks, then Tacuba did not disappoint. Their suadero tacos, carne asada plato fuerte, and pollo con pipian were next level flavorful. The party in our mouths should have translated to our table; however, we barely had any space where we were seated by the bar to fit all of the platos and bebidas. Forks kept falling on the ground as we tried to rearrange everything like a game of Tetris. We should have been seated at a proper table for our group of 3 especially since I took the time to make a reservation noting our family night out. I didn't come to realize that where we were seated was actually meant for people who wanted to drink and have snacks until 30 mins into our service still waiting for our drink order to be taken. We felt forgotten until this treasure named Rebeca happened to pass by our table and hear our call for help. She was amazing. Managers note this - Rebeca made our experience what it should have been from the get go. KEEP THIS WOMAN!!! While other staff ignored us or dismissed any questions we had about Tacuba trio options, she listened and made drink suggestions accordingly after the fact. Her recommendation of the Pepinada was on POINT! She apologized for the lack of space for us to enjoy our meals, removed things that didn't need to be there, replaced the things that SHOULD have been there, and made sure our meals were not delayed like our drinks and appetizers had been. She came over to wish us a Merry Christmas with the warmest smile and complimentary shots of Espolon. She showed genuine care that made us feel welcome. She is the reason why we would return to Tacuba Hell's Kitchen.Rebeca, eres el gran tesoro de Tacuba! Ojala que podemos verte en la proxima vez que venimos.

Came for brunch on a Sunday morning when they opened at 11 am, didn't start to get crowded until we left. Food was excellent and came out quick-- enchiladas could have been more hot but nonetheless the dish was really flavorful. The tlacoyo de huevo was incredible and unique, I ordered with poached eggs and they were perfect. While the food was good, the restaurant was very cold and also the room we were seated in had very little lighting and also loud music. Not the best environment for brunch but the food itself was not lacking in the slightest!
