Takumi Izakaya Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year

Consistently amazing food, everything I have ordered is delicious. The restaurant is small so call and make reservations, I usually sit at the bar. Amazingly talented sushi chef and friendly staff. I love the eel rolls, baked mussels, nigiri and mountains edge roll.
Came to this place with my wife.
We were told its gonna be long wait since they weren't many seats available. One of the table was reserved for people that never show up for over 1 hour. The restaurant is very small. Maybe 25 - 30 people can sit. Service was so so , nothing special. Long wait for the food since owner is the only one that making sushi. I do like the quality of the fish. Price is expensive but you do get what you pay for. The only thing that we weren't happy about was when my wife saw the owner shook hand with a customer , didn't wash his hands and went back to making sushi. That's a big no no. People could get real sick from that.

Food was delicious and I have to say, the staff was THE BEST! Literally some of the nicest & most attentive people. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food & wonderful service!
We always have a great time at Takumi Izakaya.
We've been there countless of times and the experience never disappoints. The owner & chef Takashi-san is wonderful and he always welcomes us with superb hospitality.

Wow! I am very impressed with the quality of the fish and the presentation of each dish. I go to a lot of sushi restaurants all across the valley and I can definitely say I'll be back here. You can see, smell and taste the love that is put into each dish. I am very happy I stumbled across this sushi spot. Thank you to the sushi chef who took his time to perfect everything we ordered.
Wonderful sushi restaurant.
We were seated right away at the bar. The chef was very kind and helpful. At the end he allowed us to try the otoro special. The quality of the fish was amazing.
Stopped by here for a late dinner after work.
Small but humble and relaxing locale located within a plaza full of other restaurants. I had the ramen and karage, and my empty stomach was not disappointed. Service was outstanding by the chef and wait staff. Will certainly return!
They do accept reservations on the phone.
Lots of Japanese people eating here. It's not a big place. Service was maybe a 3. No one seated us, we got our own menu and reviewed it. We were given water and then a server almost gave us soup but it was for the other table and she was very apologetic. The chef was the only one who greeted us with a bow and a smile. When our order was taken, we got our food not very long after. Food: We ordered agedashi tofu, tonkatsu ramen, kakuni black pork and sukiyaki. All were extremely scrumptious. We were craving for another dish at another restaurant but parking was terrible and we landed here. Ambiance is cozy. We know the chef Takashi from other Japanese restaurants. We will return and we will be seating at the bar next time

Wow... I was not expecting the quality or caliber of the food to be so good given its unassuming location and price-points. We ordered: -Curry katsu over rice -Yellowtail collar -The Blue Diamond roll -Agedashi tofu -Steamed egg with mushroom It's rare for us to enjoy and be impressed by literally everything we order, but this was the case here. The preparation is veryyy delicate, especially for things like agedashi tofu or the steamed egg dish and the caliber was something we'd expect at a more expensive restaurant. The curry katsu over rice and yellowtail collar were larger portions than we expected, so we ended up taking some home. My stand-out dishes would definitely be the Blue Diamond roll (so much fresh, quality fish!) and the yellowtail collar (super tender meat, great cook). What also stood out to me was how casual and homey this restaurant is. There were a few tables that greeted the chef/owner (Takashi) by name and he received them like they were old friends. All of the people who worked here were very on top of things and just overall friendly. I'm so happy this place is nearby as we'll definitely look to come again to try more things.

simply great authentic japanese food without any sort of pretentiousness. chef takashi is friendly, treats everyone like family and is an excellent sushi and izakaya chef. everything we had was top notch and i am so excited to eat here again and try new things. i absolutely loved the yellowtail collar and the blue diamond roll.
This is a local izakaya which I've never noticed before.
Once you enter the establishment, you noticed how small and intimate the environment is. We arrived at 6 o'clock and there was plenty of tables, but I would say by 630. It did fill up and we went on a weekday. Sashimi here is pretty fresh however, the owner does all the sashimi orders so please be aware that it may take a while, especially if the orders get backed up. Udon was hot and the noodles were bouncy. Salad was enough to share amongst our party of 4. Now they do close at midnight which is a bit early than other izakaya however it's a great place to grab a drink and eat some good Japanese style pub food!

On a recent visit, I had my belly satisfied along with a frosty mug of refreshing icy cold Kirin. It's a local izakaya spot serving up tasty and high quality Japanese food at reasonable prices. Be sure to check their seasonal specials board. What I ate on this visit: - Otoro fatty tuna nigiri from the specials menu. Melt in yo mouth will have your eyes rolling to the back of your head upon first bite. - Unagi don. Not overly salty. Delicious to share. Fluffy rice. - Braised pork. Tender, porkalicious juices. - Assorted tempura. Solid. - Baked yellowtail cheek. Squeeze some lemon. Silky, bursting with flavor. I sucked every last morsel of meat from those prickly and sharp fish bones. I'll be back again real soon.
