It was raining the night we visited so we arrived with wet coats an umbrella. No cloakroom or anywhere to hang a coat so I sat with my wet jacket on the back of my chair, not very comfortable.
We had an early table 5pm so it was quiet. The tables are close together if it had been busy this may be a problem. We thought we had been lucky to get a table a little away from the others until we realised we had been sat in front of the wine cupboard and every time someone ordered red wine we got disturbed. It was a little too warm inside for us but some people might like that.
We had gone for the tasting menu which we were looking forward to and at £45pp looked good value. Unfortunately we hadn’t realised that this wouldn’t be available because it was Valentine’s night. It had been replaced by a very similar tasting menu that was now priced at £75pp.
Cheapest wine on the list over £40 the bottle of Sauvignon blanc we would have liked was £65 so we didn’t bother and just had a glass of wine each.
The food however was very good. We really liked the starters. The main was buttered chicken also delicious as was the house dhal
It came with a good rice and some lovely flatbreads and also some rosters new potatoes which we found unnecessary.
The desert was a chocolate mouse shaped into a heart to share, neither of us liked this very much and would have preferred Kulfi.
I’m sure if you went anytime that wasn’t valentines you would have a better experience but we left feeling a little jaded.
The food is good but overall the experience wasn’t
