Teak is a great spot to visit, if you are able! After a day of perusing downtown St. Petersburg or the shops off Beach Drive. Finish your day with a stroll down the pier and catch a beautiful view of the sunset with a cold beverage up top at Pier Tiki, then make your way down to the second floor to eat at Teak for dinner. Highly recommend making reservations! I do have to knock them a bit on this, but overall I'll preface that it was still a lovely experience. I DID make reservations - it was my anniversary, so I was sure to make them well in (2 months) advance. I noted in the reservation that it was my anniversary and I would like a table by the windows to watch the sunset. I even called the restaurant a week ahead to confirm they had the res and noted the request. When we arrived, the hostess was initially going to sit us right in the front where everyone had to walk by - nowhere near the window and not facing it, for sure. I mentioned the reservation and asked if she could please seat us at one of the three clearly available tables along the window front and she said we had to walk back to the front and wait. We then got seated on the other side of the restaurant (by a window), but it was around the corner so no sunset view. I don't mean to rag, but I was chapped. This was my first, much-anticipated visit and a very important celebration... The manager, Kristen, came over after we got seated and I asked about the reservation situation. She explained that the other tables were also reserved and that she did see my note, apologizing for the inconvenience. We were still sat in a nice spot and it was isolated with a pretty view of the ocean, so again, not terrible, but not the romantic sunset vibes I was trying to setup. Kristen was kind enough to comp our bread, which leads me into the food... YUM!!! The bread is a MUST! The infused butters and warm bread that is made in a hot, cast iron pan is legit. I'd include a pic, but it didn't last that long! The salad (also not pictured) was pretty basic. Good sized to split between two, then we shared the seafood pasta. HOLY PORTION! (Pic was half of it) Not only was it delicious enough you'd wanna lick the bowl, but they split it into two for us and we were beyond satisfied with plenty more still in our bowls. Margarita and French 75 were right on-par. A little expensive, but delicious - nothing over the top noteworthy. Scenery behind the drinks made them better... Not sure if the interaction early on promoted an increased level of service and food quality or if that's just how they roll, but I'd absolutely be willing to go back and give it another go to find out! Giving a 3-star rating now and will update after visit #2, soon!
