The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum & Mason London Reviews from The Last Year
Delicious!!
My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon tea, with excellent service - every moment and mouthful was a delight. My husband had the savoury version and I had the veggie version and both enjoyed it very much. Was nice to try new teas and the delightful FortMason was a winner so we bought a packet on the way out to enjoy at home. Thank you to all for a wonderful couple of hours and top marks to pianist and staff for making it magical.
Fun to do but not worth the money
Overall a fun experience but would be good to note the price beforehand. Prices started at 80 pounds per person for some light bites and a pot of tea. I would not say the service here was anything spectacular. Our waitress disappeared for a while but other staff were friendly in answering our questions. Not a great value for the money but was a beautiful atmosphere
It was worth it
We wore neat casual clothes and felt comfortable. The staff was very attentive. They accommodated a substitution of one item due to an allergy. The tea assortment is substantial, and they are happy to discuss the choices and make recommendations. Each person can order up to three different types of tea as the meal progresses. It was very relaxed and someone was playing the piano in the background.
This was one of the best high teas I have ever had in
This was one of the best high teas I have ever had in London. Incredibly delicious, generous servings, and impeccable service. The atmosphere was formal, yet relaxed. A perfect balance!
Disappointing
What a shame. Living off the brand and service of the past. Service was inconsistent. One pot of tea each which was not replenished. Bland sandwiches on dry bread. Cold scones which were dry and tiny. Clotted cream served in a plastic tub. Disappointing selection of cakes thrown onto a cake stand with no thought to presentation. Without a doubt the worst afternoon tea we’ve had for £225.00. To finish with a compliment, the pianist was pleasant to listen to.
Deliciously
Had a delightfully, delicious afternoon tea here at F&M. Staff were charming and courteous, a credit to F&M. Always worth a visit. Till the next time.
Exceptionally Disappointed - except the tea sandwiches were good.
When we planned our 10th Anniversary in Europe my husband excitedly booked this place months in advance knowing I love a decadent high tea in a beautiful setting. This very expensive place disappointed on every front except the tea sandwiches - they were good. They placed us at the table beside the entrance to the kitchen where the loud and constant sound of silverware being thrown in the bin was “complimented” by the constant earthquake of the servers running past us with trays for all other diners. This table was also directly beside a large and loud group of ladies (having fun - but not where you seat a couple celebrating a romantic occasion). The disgraceful ripped and food stained menu we received to order from was more diner than high tea. While there was a grand piano we could not hear it at all from the distance and the noise pollution we were surrounded by. Our server was very junior and constantly had to be flagged down as he did not seem to understand the concept of quality check or that glasses needed to be refilled including that I may have wished for another overpriced glass of sparkling wine to remain calm amongst the terrifying din around us so as to not disappoint my husband who planned this “romantic” $500? $700? CAD experience that was much like McDonalds but with better sandwiches. Our tea was served on a 3 tier tray with no adornments not even a doily to keep the condiments or desserts in place and the disheveled off centre pile they arrived to our table at was very unappealing. Most disappointing though was going to the restroom and seeing other quieter sections with many empty tables and nice quiet couples where they could have seated us. Instead they sat the couple celebrating their 10th anniversary who booked months in advance at their worst possible table. There was no care here. Not for our comfort, not for our occasion. We saw walk ins get better tables than us while we waited for our special table because we arrived a bit early!!!! I have never had such a disappointing tea experience in my life - and this was for 4x the price I have ever paid. My husband believed that if the Queen approved of this place it was good. It was not. Avoid this place.
I might choose another Tea
Table was very pretty, service was really good but scones were rock hard and ice cold. I was so disappointed. ☹️ I might try another option if I had to do it again.
A very fun, albeit needlessly expensive experience.
If I could go back in time, I'd block off at least a couple of hours for this. At £80 per person for tea service, it makes sense to stay, relax, and enjoy for as long as possible. We definitely made a mistake by trying to squeeze this into a busy day. Better service also would have made it a more pleasant experience. The dining room is beautiful, and everything is really lovely looking. Wasn't a big fan of the food, I'd go for sweet over savory next time. Allergens can be accommodated! Strangely they told us via email that a gluten & dairy free menu would not be possible, but it was no problem whatsoever once we got there.
Wow, awesome atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time for tea. Fabulous server. Will definitely go back whenever we are in town.
This is the quintessential high tea -yes it's expensive but
This is the quintessential high tea -yes it's expensive but everything is "refreshable" aka ask for as much as you want and they'll give you a cute little take away box too. It is a nice opportunity to dress up in a cute setting. I really enjoyed the royal blend tea, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't think to try another tea even if I hadn't finished the first pot. I also wish I had thought to take the amazing strawberry jam and lemon curd to go! The scones were just fine in my opinion, but the vegetarian sandwiches were interesting and many of the desserts were quite good. It's worth going for the 4 floors of amazing store (older than America)!
An iconic spot to have afternoon tea in London.
The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon is on the top floor of Fortnum & Mason. I was so tempted to buy everything in the store afterwards. I was lucky enough to grab a last minute reservation for noon on a Wednesday just a few days prior. We ordered the classic afternoon tea option as well as the savory version along with champagne. Each came with patisseries, scones and finger sandwiches. I personally preferred the savory option as I'm not a huge fan of sweets but both were delicious and incredibly unique. For tea, I got the earl grey classic and my bf got the breakfast blend. But they have a huge selection and if we weren't strapped for time, I would have liked to their fruity/floral options. The only reason I'm docking one star is because it was super expensive. The bill came out to ~$300 which is worthwhile for a special occasion when you're looking to indulge but I probably wouldn't come back again just on a regular day.
Excellent food and service.
The chicken curry was the best of the finger sandwiches. The only disappointment was the white needle tea, which was extraordinarily mild. Afternoon tea with a plate of sweets on top is enough for two hungry ladies. I recommend sharing an order and adding an extra pot of tea. Christmas décor was festive, if slightly understated.
Enjoyed afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason.
Multiple levels decorated festively for the holidays. Server was able to modify my afternoon tea to suit my dietary restrictions making it a truly memorable experience.
Other than the fact that this place was seriously shoulder
Other than the fact that this place was seriously shoulder to shoulder full of people for the first three floors, it was a very lovely shopping experience. I also got to live out one of my bucket list items of having a proper afternoon tea and it did not disappoint. I loved the traditional setup and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try it. It's worth every penny. You can take the jars home at the end, offered me more sandwiches after I ate them and the service was just top notch. It was definitely one of the highlights of my London trip. Just prepare to be in a very thick crowd of people if you're shopping on the weekend near Christmas. Also, I picked up a bottle of their gin which you can't get anywhere else and is distilled in the building. Pretty cool stuff.
What a fun and tasty tea time experience.
Service was amazing. We were walked through the entire experience and menu. Walked through all the teas and cakes. Such a fun time here. This place was busy but it felt easy to just relax and take your time sipping tea and snaking. Was the perfect way to relax and prep for a lunch or a dinner. Everything we had was so delish. I couldn't even name them all because the moment they started coming out, it was sample city. Then they vanished. Washed down with fantastic tea. If I'm ever in the area I will be back for tea time.
A dream come true to have tea here.
The food was good and plentiful - they offered additional sandwiches and cakes which surprised and delighted me. The tea was more than warm but not hot. Everything was beautifully presented and the service excellent. We were given take home boxes which I greatly appreciated. I was very surprised that 2 pieces of my dishware were not clean and the tea pot needed a good wash. The ladies' room needed a spruce up, I mentioned this to the hostess and she immediately looked after the issue. I suppose most guests are tourists so there was not a great deal of dress up - some in jeans and sweats. Yes, a dream come true, now I can cross that off my bucket list.

Anyone know how increase payout transfer to bank as I can only send $50 a day and they charge $5 for every transaction. There must be a way. I’ve contacted support two days ago and not a reply.
