Contemporary American with attention to detail
The contemporary American restaurant impressed us with the Chef’s and staff’s attention to special dietary requirements. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing as was the tartare. The oysters were impressive and the ribs a memorable experience. The special chicken is a North American staple but perhaps a bit too deep fried for European tastes. Overall we had a wonderful dinner even on a busy Saturday evening.
Be the first to ReplyHeavy and unappetising food
This restaurant was recommended to us and we saved it for our last night in New York. The atmosphere was great but the food was heavy, unimaginative, over salted, and over priced. I don’t mind paying for good food but this was not worth the effort of going there let alone the fairly hefty bill.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot
We came here for a New Year's day brunch to recover from the night before. The food and service was brilliant if you fancy a quality breakfast or lunch (or brunch) spot and you're around here definitely give it a visit
Be the first to ReplyGo for it!

Be the first to ReplyWhat is happening at the Dutch? Simply Horrible!
What has happened at the Dutch? Service is painfully bad. I recommended to my friends this, one of my very favorite NY restaurant and they agreed. I am so embarrassed, at the horrible service we have that I am still trying to understand what is going on. Is it an affect of the pandemic? Are they getting a hard time hiring the right people? In any case, my complaint is not connected to High expectations, but just the basics: Water on the table, a couple of visits by the water to see is we need anything (like more drinks that generate revenue to the establishment, a table cleared of appetizer dishes before the main course) And after a horrible service, the waiter drops the check in the middle of the table before we asked for it. What is happening at the Dutch? After I figure this out, I am not coming back.

Had a wonderful dinner. Staff was prompt and friendly. The oysters and the squash apps were perfect. We enjoyed the Israeli plate, chicken and burger. Nice wine as well.
Be the first to ReplyMuch too loud and the food wasn’t great!
Came for dinner but after a short time it felt like we were sitting in the middle of a very loud bar not a restaurant , more and more people kept coming to drink and standing next to the tables where people were sitting to eat. The last straw was both main courses were very salty. needless to say we will never go back there.
Be the first to ReplyDinner a Friday evening in July 2022
We were a family of 4 that visited the restaurant a Friday evening. We had oysters and peppers for starters and chicken, lamb and duck confit for main courses. All dishes were very good and tasty. Good recommendation for wines, both sparkling and pinot noir, red. Friendly and professional waiters. A restaurant well worth trying.
Be the first to ReplyWTF — unrepentant incompetence
So we went for a family dinner — we spoke to them about the allergies and placed an order. 50 minutes later when we asked for our food the manageress came by to say “oh we can’t do the steak without sesame”. 50 minutes to figure this out. No real apology — just a cheesy grin. Very disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyGood vibe, decent food
A loud and lively atmosphere with lots of seating options. Food was tasty but fairly average. A bit pricey for fried chicken and burgers but that's New York. We sat inside in the middle area and it was really loud.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for any occasions
Whether you're just going for a cocktail and oyster date or a full meal with friends/family, this place is great and reliable. Nice, big space and lovely service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location unremarkable food terrible service
Visiting NY and excited to have brunch with my nephew and his girlfriend He picked the place On arrival greeted by lovely hostess and taken to an outside table for 4 . We were jammed in and son who is 6’4 was very uncomfortable, chairs very small . Our table was off balance a good inch and rocked the entire meal… Staying positive, the burger was delicious, blueberry corn flapjacks yummy. Oj was yucky definitely “ off” and sons green apple juice never came . Our visit was awesome but our waiter was a complete JERK , my son and nephews used a different to describe him- he was rude, dismissive inattentive. Guess we made a mistake- while strolling to the Dutch we saw a sign fir lavender lattes - never had one before so we stopped and got one to try- My son innocently sipped it while waiting for nephew to arrive. the waiter walks past our table GRABS the cup and says “ no outside drinks” tosses it in the trash - really? Why not try pardon me - just want to let you know we dont allow outside drinks…. We would have been ok sure sorry about that-just bought a $10 lavender latte to try- Terrible waiter - he should loosen his ponytail and jeans a tad- might be a more pleasant human in the hospitality world. Great location unremarkable food terrible service
Be the first to ReplyVery poor food
We had been looking forward to dining here for valentine's and were greeted and served by friendly front of house staff. The problems started when the food turned up, average starter but a bit disappointed because of the set price ($120 each ), we would expect something better. But then the main courses turned up and were cold and very poor. This is the point we decided to cancel our food and leave. The front of house staff were very apologetic and adjusted the bill to suit and even offered free drinks, but the night had been spoilt by the poor food.
Be the first to ReplyNothing Special, Service was Weird
I had heard good things but was less than impressed. Food was nothing special and portions were small. The atmosphere was fine I guess but was nothing memorable or exciting. The server seemed really annoyed by our presence the entire time, and later got a little rude as apparently "our time was up" and we were told to leave. So, spend $400 and get kicked out of the restaurant? Weird. Happy to leave and spend my $ elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyCool Soho spot
Had a very enjoyable lunch table at this trendy Soho American. Delish standard fare, attentive service, great spot for ppl watching. New York at its finest, in my opinion.
Be the first to ReplyYum! An amazing menu and great service
My husband and I just flew in from Los Angeles and had a 9pm reservation here last night. They have both indoor and outdoor dining, but we elected to eat outdoors where they have heat lights. We started off with cocktails and split the smoked mozzarella ravioli as our appetizer. OMG. So good. Everyone must try this dish. We paired that with a couple of honey butter biscuits from the chicken and biscuits special. For our mains, I had the steak tartare (an appetizer) and my husband had the hanger steak with kimchee rice. Both were superb. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyFun and good food
Had a great evening here. Meet friends for drinks in bar, great lively atmosphere and good bartenders. Had dinner in restaurant.Burgers are delicious. And good wines by the glass. Very popular spot!
Be the first to ReplyHighlight of our Trip
My fiance and I made a quick one-night trip to the city to see a show, and experienced so many discomforts in our trip. I understand that everyone is suffering from COVID-19 fall-out. Staff, if available at all, isn't the cream of the crop, and we're all getting by as best as possible with supply chains, money, and restrictions on everything tightening by the minute. That's why when you get excellent food and top notch service - it's worth applauding. Our Sunday Brunch was delicious, and the level of service was enough to save the overall impression of the trip. Great experiences aren't gone forever, you just have to look for them - LOOK HERE, you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyBest Spinach Omelette
My daughter and I took a quick 2 day trip to NYC from Texas and thoroughly enjoyed having brunch at The Dutch Sunday August 8th. There are no words to describe the level of delicious the spinach omelette was for me! I highly recommend The Dutch for any meal!
Be the first to ReplyNothing Dutch about it....
...but the Wagyu Steak Tartare and French Fries were exceptionally good. The Ravioli was so so. Friendly staff. Sidewalk seating was okay (table was tippy). Decent wine by the glass selection. Would return.
Be the first to ReplyOdd Taste
It has nice ambience and was bustling. The staff were nice enough. But the coffee and the food had an odd taste. Its hard to describe but I thought perhaps it was "old". My friend didnt notice and suggested in jest that perhaps I had COVID. But I dont think that that was likely.
