Went here for a New Years dinner.
The restaurant is inside the Ruben Hotel. The place is across from Buckinham Palace, so we had expectations. We had a oven fried duck liver for starters. It came with a toast and jam. Very tasty. For the main course we had beef wellington, which they are famous for. The cut was sizeable. We had it with brussels sprouts and triple cooked chips. The beef wellington was good, but not the best we have had. The brussels sprouts were fantastic. The chip were rich but good. We had a peach mousse for dessert. It was rich. Overall great food with fantastic service. We very much enjoyed the experience.

I visited for breakfast on Wednesday morning 6/1/22 at 9:30 AM.I must say the service was excellent and professional. The staff was very attentive. I ordered eggs benedict and tea. The meal was just average; nothing to write home about. My meal cost about $34.00 US. Would I return? Hard to say. But I am open to going back. Perhaps the other dishes are more palatable.

Both have to enter hotel, then meander in different directions for seating and share the same bathroom downstairs crossing in from the of a live singer to reach it. Very odd. I found the initial waiter rude and forceful, trying to talk me out of a dish. Later a second waiter was very polite. The food was average. The dessert was good. We were happy to leave as it was awkward.

My daughter and I had dinner here while staying at Rubens at the Palace. As an appetizer we ordered salmon duo, which was carved at the table. Both Scottish and Irish salmon tasted good. I liked the Scottish salmon better but my daughter preferred the Irish one. We shared medium rare lamb chop, scallops and a mixed salad. Also, complementary mixed veggie bowl and bread basket were served. The lamb chop was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The scallops were also excellent. Nice fresh veggie bowl and delicious assortment of bread and crackers. We enjoyed everything and did not have any room for dessert. The server brought us five tasty complementary chocolates. We ate two and wrapped the rest to take back to our room.
