The Garden Atlanta Reviews from The Last Year
Since the St Regis didn't do a buffet this Mother's Day we
Since the St Regis didn't do a buffet this Mother's Day we thought we'd try their Garden Room instead. Things started off poorly with a 1hr wait for our reservation, then they dropped my appetizer and entree at the same time as my husband's appetizer only (that breaks basic service rules). It took my husband 3 people and 5 requests to get wine, and by then his appetizer was 1/2 gone. Our empty entree plates sat there a good while, and our server even looked at them and kept going...no busing ever happened till we stopped one and asked they be removed and that we'd like to order dessert. Dessert arrived without the coffee. So much time had gone by trying to get this very tasty, but poorly serviced meal that we now had an issue of getting to another function. When we asked for the bill, and it arrived, our required deposit had not been applied, a required 20% tip had been added twice, and the separate slip for signing showed only this improper amount AND asked for a tip again!! Felt very much like a scam/fraud. The manager got involved at this point and was embarrassed, offered us a nice certificate for us to return and have them try again....but I just don't know if I want to risk this torture. To make matters worse still, the doorman noticed as we exited that a server had apparently poured hollandaise sauce down my husband's suit jacket!!! Which the manager is having dry cleaned now, but still...this was a total joke.
I didn't think the food and the service were going to be as
I didn't think the food and the service were going to be as great as it was. The drinks and ambiance I expected to be good, but it was our server and the food that blew me away. Pricy, but worth it for a fun night out.
Really cute spot, delicious cocktails and great small bites.
Every appetiser I had was delicious but small, a really good spot to share with friends.
The ambiance was the best, posh and elegant.
The service was totally first class. We got treated like royals. The food was delicious. The drinks were good and flowy. Best restaurant in Atlanta. We came to celebrate a new job. Best time spent.
This place is a racket.
Pretty to look at, but I paid $45 for 1 cocktail. The food is good. The short rib dish is one of the best.
The Garden Room located inside The St.
Regis Hotel. Let's talk about it! BE AWARE ! I'm going to share my most recent two experiences within the last three months. The Garden Room Restaurant has an bar staff employee tall Brunette Gentleman who's waited on me both times. He's extremely aggressive with his words and lack customer service. I ordered two Champagne cocktails on a Sunday, mid afternoon, upon closing out my tab, Tall Brunette, bartender advised me, my Credit Card wouldn't go through. I was like that's odd, please retry. After watching this bartender retry, he came back to me asking me if I had another form of payment. I explained, no. So he had to manually entered my card ( Here's where it gets ridiculous) after manually entering my Credit Card, the payment was processed just to find out he had swiped my Credit Card & Manually entered the my Credit Card number, where the payment processed twice. I noticed that this "Credit Card" incident was extremely odd, since I just ordered a Mimosa at St. Regis with no Credit Card problems. Then upon my most recent visit to The Garden Room, that exact same Tall Brunette bartender, waited on me and my friend taking our order, after waiting at the bar for more than two-three minutes before being greeted. I noticed The Garden Room, wasn't busy and their were total of five bartenders working that night. This second time, once again, upon closing out, we had two Champagne cocktails., The same Brunette bartender came back, letting us know, my Credit Card wouldn't go through. I'm like, what there's nothing wrong with my Credit Card. The Brunette bartender gave us a distasteful look, asking if we had another form of payment. My friend pulled out cash, then we closed out. This has to been a pattern for this Tall Brunette bartender, who likes to mistreat me as a Garden Room customer. I Do-Not recommend The Garden Room Restaurant, at all. There's nothing good for me to share after two horrible experiences. This issue needs immediate addressing. There were nothing wrong with either of my Credit Cards, by the way. You can Valet at St. Regis Hotel for $20. This makes me extremely sad, since I frequent The St. Regis Hotel.
Service is just super slow.
Food is very different, but taste is decent. We waited an hour just for the waiter to come back to place our dessert order. We tried to flag down the waiter, and the manager several times. It's pretty inside and welcoming. Service just definitely needs to be adjusted.
The Garden Room is a place I've wanted to visit since it
The Garden Room is a place I've wanted to visit since it opened. We went for my sister's 24th birthday for their brunch. While the food was very solid, the service was not great at all. First of all, no one said happy birthday to my sister. This might seem stupid, but any other restaurant who asks if you are celebrating a special occasion in the reservation, usually says something (sometimes even get a treat from the kitchen). It took about 20 minutes to get drinks, and we had to ask for water at least 3 times. We were not offered dessert and when we asked we just got the regular menu which had like 2 options. She never explained that that was what they offered. Getting the check was also a pain and took about 20 minutes. We were told they couldn't split the check but when we told them we saw others do so, they did it for us. I am a frequent flyer to Atlas (the sister restaurant) but the service here was just not acceptable. There are certain standards that need to be met when paying these prices. The ambiance was definitely beautiful and "instagram worthy" but I don't know that I would return.
Ambiance is still wonderful Staff front door, server, food
Ambiance is still wonderful Staff front door, server, food delivery, etc was amazing Okay wine selection Food on the menu has changed. Food was well plated. Presentation was spot on but the options on the new menu were not as intriguing & they were edible but missing the flavor wow factor that i look for. The plates i were told a more shareable for the amount each dish costs. Id rather smaller portions I would go back for drinks.
A BIG NO for me highly upset and it's just not for me .
They say if you have nothing nice to say not to say it at all but i do have something nice to say the decor is very nice . Get dressed in your cutest outfit and get your pictures in cause trust me after you eat at one of the surrounding areas you're going to want to do a photo shoot here . The food is a no for me i couldn't think about nothing to eat but the lobster rolls which was a 10/10 but very small . It was 9pm and they were already out of salmon for the night the only thing else i probably would have ate beside the lobster rolls smh .
The Perfect Meal
This spot is great if you have lots of spare $$$!!! We enjoyed our brunch dishes (lobster roll, lobster omelet, salads, and egg benedict) - and the cocktails/wine were excellent. But the $500 cost seems a bit on the high side.
Unethical and rude
Recently I made a reservation to dine at The garden room. I had the most unethical experience there. This restaurant turned me away for having a service dog. The girl (blonde) was hostile about it too. She kept cutting me off whenever I tried to speak to shout “DO YOU WANT ME TO BRING OUT MY MANAGER”. She said that they don’t allow pets or service dogs or any dog inside. I continued to explain again that he is a PSD service dog and usually he is not denied entry, and she rudely kept cutting me off to say “NO ANIMALS ALLOWED” and then says “I’m sorry” in a mocking tone. Last I checked this goes against the ADA act and is considered discriminatory and illegal. She was very hostile and honestly I was a bit shaken by the experience. I tried to call the manager on the phone about it after and he claims that they do allow service animals (which clearly isn’t true based on my experience). He said that as long as you can show documentation about your disability or your service dog then they allow you in. This AGAIN goes against the ADA act and is illegal and discriminatory. Service dog handlers are not required to walk around with documentation to show restaurants. After realizing how unethical they were, I was hesitant to give the manager my name or any information about me. He was very ruse and hung up the phone on me. I’ve never experienced this at any other restaurant and I do believe further action should be taken here.
Romantic garden restaurant perfect for Date Night
This little garden spot is so cute! It’s tucked away by the St Regis hotel in Buckhead Atlanta. Make a reservation since it always stays busy. The flowers inside are faux but beautifully done. Flowers on the walls, trees, ceilings. Fabric decor on the chairs in festive colors - pinks, greens, yellows. Ordered whole lobster that was shelled and had a crab sauce on top. Fries and cheeseburger. The cocktail and dessert menu is really the popular items. Ordered a delicious cocktail called “MEET YOUR MATCHA” which had Sipsmith Gin, Matcha, Orgeat, Cream, Lemon, Raspberry Foam. Bc we sat at high top tables and no other seats were available the manager gave us complimentary champagne! The staff and service was phenomenal. Making sure we were pleased every 10 minutes. Highly recommend for date night or girls night.
