Sadly, I believe this lovely restaurant did not survive the pandemic. Truly a shame as it was a beautiful dining room, great food, attentive service, and world class wine program. The Greenhouse was one my of the most memorable dining experiences in London.

Went here after a tasting menu at Moss in Iceland, and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal a few days prior. Food was amazing. But waitstaff were dicks. Acted like because I wasn't British royalty, I couldn't afford to be there. A touch on the slow side, but I'm not a fan of a 3 hr meal (esp with 4-5 courses).Drinks good, but insanely small. At like 15-20 pounds each, it adds up quickly. Little to-go desert bag at the end was a nice touch. It is a Michelin starred spot, so it's worth going... at least once

The whole experience starts before you enter the spot as you make your way through there atmospheric terrace. I took my daughter here on a quick stop in London from the states and I'm glad we chose it. The service was freaking amazing. It was exactly what you want, not pushy or in the way, knowledgeable, polite and truly eager to ensure our night was good. The food will challenge some in sure but the skin of the duck was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Each dish in the tasters menu was different and unique. It's an expensive experience no doubt but it's and experience you won't forget.

We had a great return visit here after over ten years and it was absolutely fantastic. ย The entire team here is excellent, they are extremely focused on making it a great experience for everyone. ย I really cannot say enough about the people which made this a great dinner. We started with some champagne cocktails--a french 75 and 2 classics. ย The classic (mandarine with angostura and a sugar cube) is excellent and worth recreating at home.We had the tasting menu with crab, lobster, winter truffle and turbot for us all with me going lamb while my companions took the veal (their loss). ย Then we had some cheese and lovely peach for dessert. The lamb totally stole the show and was the best lamb I have ever had. ย Just cooked to perfection with terrific flavors on the plate. ย After that, Id say the crab and lobster were our favorites, though more for me and my daughter than wife. ย I liked the varying textures in the crab dish layered on top and the hazelnut cream for the lobster was quite nice. The turbot was just a bit disappointing with a graininess which was accented by the broadbeans. ย The winter truffle tagliolini was a bit salty and slightly clumpy so you had to work at it a little more than usual to get the right bite size (at least for me). ย I'm nitpicking here on both--if I got either served to me I would be very happy. The somelier did a nice job with the prestige pairing, staying mostly in France. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyMe and my friend were here for pre-set lunch.
The experience was really good. We went there on weekday so there was not a lot of people. I had snail for starter, my friend had collection of tomatos. We ordered pollock and pork for main. The dessert were ice cream and cherry. The restaurant had provided several free starters and dessert, the taste was rich and complex.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely, tucked away gem.
The front of house staff is polished, yet warm and approachable. They take excellent care of you throughout a journey of masterful, gorgeous textures and flavors. If you can, opt for one of the tasting menus with one of the wine pairings. It's a beautiful, thoughtful, serene and delectable experience.

Gets two stars for lovely environment and solid wine service and pairings.Unfortunately most of the reviews of yelp for this place are very outdated. Given our experience I suspect it won't matter much as this place should close soon. The issues here are the cooking and the service. Apparently a corporate entity has recently taken over this two star (which they will surely lose), and quality has slipped dramatically. The starters were fine, but as the proteins started coming out there were problems. Haddock seemed a bit past its best and looked a dreary wet gray. An attempt at a coffee foam had lost its air by the time it was served leaving a flavorless gray brown puddle. Amateur hour. It tasted bland as it looked. The next course was pork with pomegranate sauce. Flavor free. The cut didn't seem remotely good. Basically like cafeteria food. When my dinner partners excused themselves I told the server we were disappointed. We were quizzed "why did you eat it then?" "We are starving" (Slow motion service also an issue here). Ok so to their credit they tried again and brought out their signature dish: lamb with eggplant. We really just wanted the check but I appreciated the gesture. It was certainly better quality product than the rest but still quite lacking in salt or care. It just tasted like food; not gourmet not exciting or anything of interest. We were quizzed "well did you like it?" "It was better" "better?? But not good?" "Yep just better" "hhmmpf!"This is not Michelin service. Your food sucks. I'm not going to baby you and reassure you it's good. I've been to plenty of fine dining restaurants over the years, many stars under my belt. Don't be snitty and rude with me. Dessert and after sucked as well. Waste of money; yelpers you will do much better at:Clove ClubMarcusLylesAmetsaHardwood ArmsCheers!

We left embarrassed expecting a two Michelin star experience and ended up extremely disappointed. The amuse bouches were interesting and had our hopes up and so was the beet dish at the beginning, but as our meal went on it went downhill. The protein dishes left no impression, they brought us an additional beef dish with eggplant/sesame seeds after we mentioned that things were subpar, their "signature dish", which was definitely better but still nowhere near where it should be.The ginger sorbet served on a piece of ice? Cool, but it just tasted like ginger. Bleh. The wine pairing was really nice and brought up the food. They had a nice French Grenache and a wonderful South African white. However, almost all of the food was bland and pretentious. The staff seemed confused and non-personable. We went to Lyle's earlier today and there was no comparison, what a waste of an amazing location and decor.Just shitty, safe boring food. Traditional and tired. Doesn't compare to Meadowood/Commis/Hardwood Arms/Ledbury. Bleh.

My disclaimer: I typically don't like French food, or French restaurants in general. I would not consider my palate sophisticated... tend to prefer good food made simply surrounded by friends in a casual environment. Very nice out of the way upscale location. Dessert, presentation, wine list all amazing... for me, the food was meh. Seriously looking at big $ for 4 people with wine tax and gratuity. One staffer called me out in front of everyone for not eating the canapes... wasn't embarrassed, more amused that it seemed very French.

A very pleasant place always attended by nice people and providing deliciuos food ! Typical british and european cuisine with superb service!!
Be the first to ReplyI can't find a single flaw with the Greenhouse.
I just can't. The style has changed over the years - but that's more to do with the fact that the second Michelin star made it less business-focused and more Special Occasion Destination... (not that it wasn't luxe to begin with). The food is just SO perfect (and knocks Ducasse, with his risible three stars at the Dorchester, out of the game). Fresh, innovative, modern, delicious - French, but with very broad horizons. But this aside, everything is just done so well: nearly every table has eyes out. The lighting is perfect. Service impeccable. The acoustics are wonderful (let's hear it for actual tablecloths!). It feels like a secret location, in a garden in the middle of Mayfair. This is a REALLY special place - made even more special by the fact people actually dress for dinner...
