Just to set the table if you will, we had high expectations going in. This is a James Beard award winning restaurant and chef, so we expected to have an exceptional experience. It is also one of the hardest places in town to get a reservation. First off, the setting and ambiance is very cool. It’s a great space overall with a neat vibe. The bathroom situation is a bit small for that many people (had to wait in line twice), and the tables are very close together so getting in/out was difficult and cumbersome, but overall very nice. The service was the best part. It was outstanding, they all helped, they knew the menu very well, and were very timely with coming around, brining food and drinks. Ok. Now the bad part. I thought the drinks are over complicated, too many ingredients, and so the flavors get blended and lost. We had tried 4 of the house crafted cocktails and did t like any of them. Now for the food, first off not a Gluten Free item on the menu. The grouper was fishy and over cooked (had better grouper at Clive’s). The chicken was good, but last night at the Collins Quarter the same dish was way better. I’ve done better on the grill at home. The presentations are nice, but the flavor wasn’t there. The red rice balls were good, as well as the cauliflower dish. But overall I was very disappointed with the food for a James Beard award winning place.
