The Little Door Los Angeles Reviews
Amazing food and service! Came here for a date night.
The atmosphere was very romantic and beautiful. Food and drinks came out relatively quickly. Our server was very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommended!
Came here for my birthday dinner with my husband.
The food was great. I ordered the filet mignon and the wine reduction and potato pave was delicious. The filet was good, although I can say it was not the best cooked filet I have eaten. But the reduction and potatoes made it come together quite well. My husband ordered the lamb chops and it tasted really great. Not gamey at all. My waitress and the servers were top notch. The drink I ordered was pretty good. The ambiance was nice, it is beautiful inside although it was really crowded and a lot louder than I expected for a cozy date night. All in all I would return, maybe on a less busy night. ( I went on Saturday)
The drinks and the ambiance were great, but I was a little
The drinks and the ambiance were great, but I was a little disappointed with the entrees and starters. For the entree, my group ordered sea bass, uni pasta, filet mignon, and king mushroom rice. Seabass and king mushroom was good. But I've had way better filet mignon and uni pasta in other restaurants. But, the filet mignon dish did come with potato pave that was delicious. For the appetizer/starters we got the piri piri shrimp, charcuterie board, and the oysters. It was my first time trying the king mushroom rice and that one was delicious. The piri piri shrimp was delicious too. The oysters were fresh but thought the topping was just ok. Lastly, the charcuterie board did not include cheese which was disappointing. But their drinks were delicious, we got the pomegranate margarita, cucumber martini, and mario. Service could we way better. Our waiter did not know much about the dishes nor drinks, which didn't help when we asked for recommendations. And we were not given much attention throughout the night. The host asked us to leave soon as there were another party after. Though she asked politely, a restaurant like this usually doesn't have time limit. Valet was $12 which is normal to be. Otherwise, there is street/meter parking around. Overall, it was an ok restaurant. The ambiance and company made it worth it. But the dishes and service could be better.
This place was the cutest.
Such a good date night spots but I went with my college girlfriends and it was so much fun! The food was spectacular with very attentive staff. Recommended some really great options

Came here for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic! The ambiance was absolutely lovely for a date night. For drinks, we got the: Pomegranate Margarita - a little more salty than I was expecting. If you like a sweeter drink, maybe pass on this one Spiced Corazรณn - my partner ordered and said it was very spicy and delicious Le Papillon - I ordered this after requesting a sweet drink and it was still only mildly sweet Toki Highball - I tried my partner's drink and surprisingly the sweetest drink of them all. Very tasty and I'm not a whisky person. Food: We ordered the Housemade Parker Rolls as an appetizer and they were SO good. Highly recommend. Organic Chicken - my partner ordered this and it was absolutely delicious. The skin was very well seasoned and the chicken was perfectly cooked. It also came with a dipping sauce that was similar to mole and it was great. Filet Mignon - SO DELICIOUS. An absolute must-try. Definitely one of the best filet mignon dishes I've ever had.

What a truly amazing memorable dining experience! The atmosphere is whimsical with a sweet character and charm. The host Raz was very funny and his energy set the night off on a high note. Right away, we were greeted by our beautiful and caring server, Lilith. She was super helpful, guiding us through the menu - deciding on the curry mussels, rolls, and filet. - BEST MUSSELS IN MY LIFE - the crispy onion and crispy chickpeas, were the perfect complement to the rich, savory broth. Also pro tip: dip your rolls into the broth! I don't order steak a lot at restaurants, but the filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the truffle flavor with the dish was complementary, not overbearing like some truffle dishes. I was too full for dessert but definitely looking forward to coming back to try more things and recommending to all my friends.
Another great eatery on 3rd WeHo.
Lovely atmosphere and food - do be aware of the $45pp minimum if you are splitting the check across a few friends. Didn't catch us out - but can totally see how it could.
My husband and I went to this place for our anniversary.
My husband's steak was amazing, my sea bass was ok.. but my one rating is because of the scam their staff tried to pull on us. Our bill was around $194 and we left $around $40 for tips. I checked my bank account as I typically do, and saw a bill for $462!! Called the restaurant and they said there is a $250 on tips!!! I said we did not leave that and I want to change my tip to $0! I see a pending transaction of -$250 in my account but that is still more than what they should charge me. I have to now call back and ask for the rest... Very disappointing unprofessional behavior. If you still decide to go there, take a picture of your signed receipt as they try to steal money from you.
Rack of Lamb is amazing here .
The service provided is great and the ambiance as well . Highly recommend ! One of my favorites in the area .

I came across this lovely restaurant on Instagram, which is said to be an excellent choice for a romantic dinner. So, my husband took me there for my birthday, where we relished Middle Eastern/Morrocan-inspired cuisine. We ordered the rack of lamb and Couscous-Royale, which were both delicious and generously portioned. However, it's worth noting that the restaurant has a minimum order requirement of $45 per person. For couples, I'd recommend the patio seating for a more romantic dining experience.

Food: 3/5 The food started off really strong but then we enjoyed our dishes less and less as it went on. We started off with the Parker rolls which were extremely delicious and airy with the butter. The cheese board was also good but we did wish there was more bread with it. Then we had our entrees which were the sea bass and the king mushroom rice. The sea bass itself was amazing and cooked perfectly (I would order it again) but the sauce was a little salty. The rice was a little heavy and creamy and cheesy which while we usually enjoy, because we ordered a lot of cheese dishes before, it was too much for us. The mushrooms were also kinda bland and the dish overall while solid, could've used more vegetables. After, we had the broccoli which we did not enjoy at all. It tasted extremely bitter and unseasoned. Would not recommend. For dessert, we had the matcha miso which was not good. While the texture of the matcha cake was good, we did not like the taste of the dessert. The matcha flavor was not there and was overpowered by the miso. Overall, I would come again but be more careful with what I order. Service: 4/5 Standard service, a little slow but that's because the restaurant was busy. Food does take a while. Ambiance: 5/5 It's so beautiful. The hype around the beauty of this place is definitely worth. If you love restaurants with pretty interior and a good seat no matter where you are, this is the place.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Came here to celebrate Valentine's Day and
Wow. Wow. Wow. Came here to celebrate Valentine's Day and I was just amazed by the atmosphere and aesthetics of the place! Right when you walk inside, you are basically transported to a little forest oasis. Greenery and lights everywhere, really makes for a great backdrop. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Shared about 4 to 5 dishes between two people and it was more than enough. The Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata was literally the best Burrata dish I've ever had. I have been craving to go back. Would highly recommend this place! Service was impeccable and welcoming:)
Very cute place, great for a special occasion or a date.
The food is 3/5, not extraordinary but the ambience is great. Service is great.
The "hidden gem" moniker is all about the ambiance and
The "hidden gem" moniker is all about the ambiance and mystique - in a "blink and you might miss it" sort of way, you'll find a romantic courtyard restaurant nestled behind a solid wooden door. The food is just fine, pricey, and adorned with edible flowers on nearly everything (so many flowers - why??). Menu posted on website should be updated because there are things i looked forward to ordering that were no longer on the menu (we visited 3/9/24), no parker house rolls, diff pasta dish, etc. Barman said they didn't have pineapple juice so no ability to have a "French Martini" at the French restaurant. LOL. Since we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary the restaurant treated us to a crรจme brรปlรฉe that was cute & delicious. The rest of the food was hit/miss: Cheese plate was fine, mostly harder cheeses, served with nuts, chopped apricots & figs, a few slices of bread, and overall nothing special. Hamachi Crudo was delicious and bright. Seasonal salad was lovely and well dressed. Mushrooms side was over seasoned/salty. Herb crusted rack of lamb was the star of the show and perfectly cooked and delicious. Seared sea bass was ok, maybe it would have been better if I drowned it in the sake bottle of sauce that came on the plate...it surely would have been better if they didn't serve my meal on a chipped plate...3 chips around the rim, to be exact - hence the 3 star review (and no amount of edible flowers was making up for that). I had higher hopes but this turned into a bucket list venue.
The food was great.
I was pleasantly surprised how good the food is! I've been to a lot of restaurants including a lot of the "insta famous" LA restaurants where the food just doesn't amount to the pretty atmosphere. I don't know who our server was she did not say her name but she was fine. The busser staff was great, super attentive always ready to remove our plates or help refill water. I came with my friend for her birthday dinner and she chose the place as she was super excited to try it out. I let the waitress know that it was a birthday (we dined 3/1) but she said they don't do anything complimentary and I would have to pay for it. Not a big deal, just a slight ick for the quality of a nice restaurant and a meal for two that ranges over $300 including tip. So I bought the crรจme brรปlรฉe and it was pretty good. I did enjoy this place but I probably will not come back. Like I said, the food was great! The atmosphere is a cute & small place for friends or a date night.
Review for 3/16/2024.
Three stars because of the seemingly unwelcoming hostess. She might have not had a good day but the attitude showed from when we checked in to when we left (we apologized when we were asked to leave for other parties). Mood and experience were entirely ruined because of one person. Please improve. Food: good, exceeds expectation. Octopus ceviche was superb. All entrees were excellent (herb crusted lamb, filet mignon, seared sea bass, and salmon). King mushroom rice was a little salty. Wait staff: were friendly and offered good customer service. Vibe: think Tangled lantern scene
This must be the cutest and coziest Resturant I have been
This must be the cutest and coziest Resturant I have been to in a long time. From the little wooden door you enter into an enchanting place filled with beautiful tables, beautiful bar and a cozy ambiance. The food was impeccable and the drinks tasty. Service was great and the place looks tiny from the outside but holds many tables in different rooms settings inside. Definitely recommend for a cozy date night or just all around good times.
Place is so beautiful and cozy, service fairly good since
Place is so beautiful and cozy, service fairly good since every table is book on the weekends. Food is good too tho my lava cake was like a chocolate muffin and no lava at all. Also only two restrooms, so the wait can be minutes long... but the place in general is worth the visit and I'll be back especially good to bring a special one on a bday.
Great date night spot.
The food is amazing and the ambiance is calm and relaxing. Service was great, even when we were the last table, all staff were accommodating and helpful! Would definitely go back!
This restaurant has everything.
Taste in all facets... cuisine, ambience, location and sweet and subtle French vibes ...staff is versed and knowledgeable, fast and attentive. Worth the price. And most tables, each have a special views regardless of where you sit.
The service was okay and for the prices I'd like a little
The service was okay and for the prices I'd like a little more attention. We went for our anniversary, and they took the extra step to help us celebrate with dessert. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked. But, the sides were over seasoned and didn't really play well with the meat. I would order again and avoid the sides. My wife had sea bass and it was very tasty. Again, the sides were nothing special and seemed overdone. The hamachi crudo was very tasty. The market salad was very good. Cheese plate had a lot of hard cheese, but all together I was happy. Nice bread, very fresh and good. Crรจme brรปlรฉe was yummy.
Amazing find!!!
We had just missed our reservation in another restaurant close by, due to traffic. We arrived at The Little Door and asked for a table for two, luckily, the hostess moved all at her power and got us a table. The ambiance of feeling outdoors but indoors is amazing. The food was above all expectations, the rissotto was amazing, great fish, just amazing!! Congratulations.
Great meal with wonderful ambience!
Delightful place with small wooden door entrance. Inside is a magical jungle setting. Food and service, both outstanding. Special experience!
Wow I can't believe I just found out about this place.
It's the ambiance for me. Walking through literally little (wooden) doors and entering this enchanting forest like cozy place I already knewwww it was going to be amazing. Best date night place ladies & gents! Loved the sparkling lights on top and the use of real trees throughout the place made it feel magical!Moving on to the food, we asked our sweet waiter (also shoutout to the attentive staff) we chose a few dishes that he recommended such as their Persimmons and Burrata, their Hamachi Crudo, Housemade Pappardelle, & Herb Crusted Lamb. Portions were more than enough for two! My favorite was probably the Persimmon & Burrata. Something about the semi-sweet fruit and creamy burrata just worked so nicely. as you can tell the plating is beautiful, although the rack of lambs came covered in greens, which I thought was unnecessary. the pappardelle was fantastic, a little over salted for my taste so I ended up drinking cups of water afterwards but overall Yum! Definetly will come back and recommend everyone if you're looking for a low key ambiance and delicious dishes.
Very romantic French place with a beautiful outdoor patio
Very romantic French place with a beautiful outdoor patio area. Really great for a date night.
Sat @ bar, bartender was fantastic as were the cocktails.
Food was generally delish but host/ess and staff were not friendly at all.
Disgusting sickening experience tonight.
The bartender was the manager and when I brought a simple grievance to her. Her boyfriend? Apparently another bartender, stepped in and angrily kicked my wife and me out of the restaurant, the manager, although looked embarrassed, said nearly nothing. I'm a regular/local and was totally calm and "respectful" with my grievance. There were 2 other employees that chimed in and made derogatory comments, the manager said because of that....that we could not sit in their area. I had patrons follow us out of the restaurant offering to leave and be witness to this horrible abusive situation
Don't be fooled by the exterior.
When you walk inside, you are transported to wonderland. The service was amazing and the food was delicious.
Really cute date night idea with a beautiful ambiance
Really cute date night idea with a beautiful ambiance setting. My bf brought me here for a late Valentine's date and it was such a cute little restaurant. He saw this place on IG and thought it would be nice for us. There is valet parking but we found a parking spot on the streets by the restaurant so that was good for us. I really like the little door concept with how the door outside looks going into the restaurant. It was so cute and unique. I enjoyed the feel and look of this restaurant and honestly I think the star of this whole experience was how the restaurant felt. The food was good but in my opinion overpriced for what your getting. It feels like your basically paying for the ambiance of the place. Overall, my bf and I enjoyed it and it was a cute little restaurant with just the right decor to make any night into a special night.
Went for Valentine's weekend.
Loved in LA 9 years I can't believe I have never been here before! Food was incredible, my boyfriend hates beef tartare and he can't stop talking about their version of it-- he already wants to go back and order it again (and I agree)!Service was great, very friendly and helpful. Wonderful ambiance. Can see why it's such an institution in the LA food scene
Beautiful place and great romantic setting, service was
Beautiful place and great romantic setting, service was great too. Food was just ok. The winter salad was good, could use some extra olive oil, the Mazze was decent and came with good bread. The sea bass was overcooked but they were kind to take it off the bill. The drinks were the best. We had the Vodka Strawberry cocktail.
Made a reservation thru open table.
I wanted to take my wife out for a late Valentines dinner. I specified "special occasion". This is the second time we have been here. Last time was for a birthday and we had a good time and I remember the service was good and I enjoyed the food. I guess that was beginners luck.If I could sum up the hostess, service and food in one word, it would be "vapid".We arrived early and checked in, the hostess couldn't be bothered to look up at us, she was probably thinking of her next audition. She was like "uhm yes, this way". Didn't ask us what the special occasion was. I know it's just a formality but when there are paying customers, please act as if you care. We are paying your minimum wage.It was a special occasion for us so we dressed well. This is not a fault of the restaurant but what is it about LA people who wear their gym clothes to an "upscale" restaurant?? There should be a minimum dress code!We were sat down next to this couple who would have been more at home at a Walmart lunch counter. One of the servers came by and asked us if we wanted "bottle water, sparking water or tap water". There was a slight tinge of contempt when they said "tap water". I remember this from the last time! Great way to shame customers into paying for overpriced water! My wife asked for hot water and I asked for a beer. Server looked at me and asked, "you don't want any water??" The menu has some delicious looking dishes, alas the reality is that it's only delicious in words. The main server came over to take our order and I ordered the Sea Bass for my wife and the rack of lamb for myself. "Would you like some water?" Asked the server with the most ingenuine smile I have ever seen! I felt like a shark was smiling at me. Still trying to sell the overpriced water to the end!We got our food in record time! Probably within 5 minutes of ordering. Ok. Maybe 6 minutes. The bus boy dropped off the dishes, plates hot, food luke warm. I asked for some rolls. I remember not having to ask the last time. They just brought them. I guess someone didn't get the memo. We never got our rolls, or baguettes as the bus boy promised.Sea bass and rack of lamb are our favorites to order at restaurants. We've never had them arrive in such record time because it takes more than 6 minutes to cook them! I hazard to guess that the pre-cooked plates were sitting in the kitchen under a heat lamp or in an oven. There's something called "heat capacity" of materials so ceramics heats up way faster than things like meats, hence the hot plates, luke warm food.I asked for medium rare on my rack of lamb, what I got had only a passing acquaintance with fire. Tough, rare, chewy. This lamb died of old age!I should have sent it back. Don't know why I didn't. I'm still kicking myself for being "too nice". The Sea bass wasn't any better. Oversalting food seems to be a common "cheat" in restaurants to make mediocre food taste better. The server came back with her predatory smile to ask how we were doing. "Fine" I said, getting some good exercise on my jaw muscles. She didn't care. For the price, the service and quality I really can't justify going back to this place. Oh yeah! The "ambiance" great if you're idea of evening west is a track suit!
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate Valentine's Day.
The place is super cute and it's such a romantic ambiance. Our server Adam and so sweet and knowledgeable of all the plates available. We had the special of the night which was a octopus ceviche and it was divine the chicharrรณn paired beautifully with the raw octopus. We also the the Portuguese Octopus and that was delicious as well. The saltines if the chouriรงo perfectly balanced the hush puppies and the octopus. These were the appetizers and if they're this good the entrees must be delicious! Right ?Well that's where things take a turn. I got the herb crusted rack of lamb and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The one down side was that it was covered with dill , parsley, and edible flowers. The dill completely overwhelmed the palette. My boyfriend got the dry aged ribeye and the crust on that stake was absolutely mouthwatering. However, the celery root puree was something to be less desired of. Again it was very poignant and you lost the flavour of the steak. Overall cute place. Oh and the dessert was good.
Great atmosphere, good food
Was pleasantly surprised. A little hidden gem on a busy city street transports you to a romantic meeting spot. The food was delicious, I will definitely return on my next trip. The only reason it did not get 5 stars, was that it felt a little quick and forced. Food seemed to come out instantly, and I would have liked a little more time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Escape to the Mediterranean
Beautiful ambiance and amazing service. The food rates one of the best I've had this year! The sea bass was the best I've ever had!
