The Local - Pub & Teahouse Saratoga Springs Reviews from The Last Year
My wife and I stopped at the Local for a drink last night.
We hadn't been there in quite a while so we thought we'd give it a try. My wife had 2 glasses of wine.... Small to average pours. I had 2 IPAs. When the tab came we realized why we do not visit the Local very often. The 2 glasses of wine were $12 each. 1 on my beers was $11 (12 ounce pour), and the other was $8. With tax, the bill was slightly over $46. Ridiculous! Never again.

A real American Irish pub, with enough of the old and new-nic ely done. There'll be a wait, but the atmosphere is right, minus the music of pubs in the UK

We ordered the Mac and cheese with brisket added and nachos with ground beef added. The brisket was sliced which was weird in the Mac and cheese. The nachos were impossible to eat because of how much the cheese was burnt. It was a pile of unsalted chips with burnt hard cheese and chunked steak. Couldn't even eat the nachos. Overall disappointing.

Great out of the way spot for a local brew and really good food. A little hard to find location but worth the trip.
My girlfriend and I stopped here on a long drive back to
My girlfriend and I stopped here on a long drive back to Vermont. We loved it because it was off Broadway where all the tourists go so it wasn't as busy. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. There is outdoor seating in the front and the back. We sat in the back which was really cute. We both needed iced coffee and got the cold brew with cream. It was your average cup of joe. My girlfriend got the eggs Benedict and was able to make it gluten free which was awesome. I got the breakfast skillet which hit the spot. It had all the things I wanted- potatoes, eggs, meat, and cheese. I ate it all and would gladly order it again. Overall, this place was a sweet find and we will definitely be back when we're in the area.
it's a cozy tavern with low, yellow lighting.
we were seated promptly (monday night, 7:30). later i overheard some people saying the kitchen closes at 8, which i don't believe is listed on google so just be aware of that. i went with my parents. service was prompt. i don't remember the name of our server, but she was excellent. friendly, a good conversationalist, and very attentive. i got the bread and butter, which was definitely just like a store bought loaf slightly warmed but still good ($3)! for my main i got the grilled chicken naan. it was a little dry, but i got the aioli taken off so that is a me problem rather than a restaurant problem. a little of their house jalapeño hot sauce fixed that right up and gave it some more flavor, as it was a littttttle bland. the chicken was charred and the veggies local and good quality. the fries were VERY good, as were the sweet potato fries. i went with my parents and they both enjoyed it. my mom is gluten free and they gave her regular bread, but it was very easy to tell that it was regular bread and the waitress + cook fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes. i would give just the food 4 stars, but the service certainly bumps it up to 5.
Lunch
I was very excited to get the fish and chips. What was very disappointing was the coleslaw and the tartar sauce. This could be a great meal if those items were fixed.
Great place great food
Always great food friendly staff generally a fun place to go and eat.Wr have been several times and each time had a good meal. The beer selection is interesting and you can always find one you will enjoy. Just wish I could get in the mug club faster !

Two sided marketplaces need growth on both sides, so this is wonderful to read!
