The Lowell Hotel New York Reviews from The Last Year
An oasis in a busy city
As soon as your step into the Lowell you feel completely transported into a tranquil setting seemingly miles away from one of the world's busiest cities. Well appointed rooms (some with fireplaces), garden setting tea time and seemingly endless nooks for relaxing make this our go to spot whenever we come to the the city!
Exceptional and Very Special!
We've stayed at the Lowell for 25+ years, and that about sums it up! With all the five star choices in Manhattan, we found ours, and the Lowell consistently delivers in every aspect that you expect.
Amazing NY Boutique Hotel experience!
Celebrating my momβs 60th, and we couldnβt have chosen a better place to stay. Very nice hotel, but not stuffy. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful.
A culture of service
From the moment of arrival until departure one experiences service that only comes from a great culture. Over the years the ability to maintain this culture is to be admired.
5 Stars
Outstanding in all ways- location, staff, rooms, amenities. Couldnβt recommend the Lowell more highly!
Exceptional at every level
Beautiful, small European style hotel in fabulous location for window shopping and more. We were visiting NYC to celebrate a milestone birthday and the attentive, polite staff with an unusual attention to detail, made our stay quite special. Luxuriously appointed guest rooms, gorgeous public areas, exceptional dining, cozy bar, well equipped fitness center (with great snack bars!) and magnificent floral bouquets throughout the hotel. Appreciate the hotel commitment to no plastic bottles. First rate.
Totally first class at the Lowell
Small, elegant, old world, and just fabulous! The staff is very attentive and informative. Very accommodating to your every whim. Great location on the upper east side. I had an entry-level room that I took at the last minute on this trip to New York and must say it was quite lovely. The amenities were the top , and the breakfast was yummy and a warm and inviting small dining room on the second floor floor. I would highly recommend this daily one wanting a total first class experience! Iβll return!
Home away from Home
Truly a hidden gem in New York and the upper east side. Amazing service, personalized at every step⦠intimate and hospitable. Like coming home to your own an amazing apartment in the city.
Great Hotel for a Weekend in the City
Superb staff. Well appointed rooms. Wonderful location. Terrific bar and restaurant service. Pricey but not excessively for NY.
Let me simply say that we recently returned to the Lowell
Let me simply say that we recently returned to the Lowell during December of 2024 and found our visit to be all that we had loved in the past about this hotel. On this stay the front staff could not have been nicer or any more helpful. The Pembroke Room remains wonderfully personal. Marjorelle, Marjorlle's bar/ lounge were both delicious. The sunny room was elegant and very well appointed. Overall a wonderful New York at Xmas stay.
Impostor Syndrome
The Lowell claims to be a great property. All I can say is do not stay in room 7F. Nothing in the room was appropriate for a five-star hotel.
An Extraordinary Hotel.
First time we visited was 30 years ago. It still is my favorite. Great service. Restaurants are very good. Location suits us well!
Superb boutique hotel
Great attentive staff. Nice cozy bar and sitting area. Nice rooms. Great location - 1 block from Central Park.
Lovely Boutique Hotel
The Lowell is a lovely boutique hotel on the UE with good proximity to shopping and great restaurants. We highly recommend the Lowell for its location and very attentive staff -- from the front desk to housekeeping and room service. All were top notch!
Great location. Average service
Great location. Average service. Some rooms need refreshing and some maintenance. Housekeeping not great. Front desk very nice. Bedlinens and blankets could be better. Electrics in room were weird. But amazing location and boutique hotel. Peaceful.
My trip
A better experience does not exist. The entire staff is thoughtful, professional and friendly. I had a small problem the plumbing in my room and the situation was resolved immediately and professionally and I was moved to a new room. I felt so cared for. I cannot imagine staying anywhere but with The Lowell and I have been coming for over 30 years.
At 4.5 stars this is the most underrated hotel in NYC
Why did I ever stay anywhere else when in NYC? To be clear, I like quiet, sophisticated well appointed hotels where guest experience/satisfaction are not just words on a website. Our suite had a wood burning fireplace for Peteβs sake! Great food Sublime service Beautiful ambience Do yourself a favour when in NYC stay at this hotel.
Simply the Best Hotel in New York City
We spent last week in NYC - the weather was cold, wet and windy. But when we entered The Lowell we were immediately transported into an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. The hotel has everything you expect in the top NYC hotel - the rooms are beautifully decorated, and each member of staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect. The Club Room has its own special ambiance, and Jacques Bar offers wonderful cocktails and the best service. We have already made reservations for our next visit - we can't imagine staying anywhere else.
A Jewel
My husband and I have stayed at a number of Upper East Side Hotels and can say that we've found the best. The Lowell is exceptional in every way: service, amenities, the property, the dining...We have already made a reservation to come back.
Beautiful
Great and stunning ambience , great cocktail menu , had the spaghetti in tomato sauce , such a simple dish and so well done. Classy and Γ©lΓ©gant , adorned with flowers everywhere with an intimate ambience and I will definitely be back The staff were truly wonderful and Iβve been here many times
I was really disappointed to see that i could not navigate
I was really disappointed to see that i could not navigate their website without agreeing to permit over a dozen cookies (as in website cookies) that allow the hotel, Google and Facebook to track you and send you targeted advertising. Seriously? You are selling my info to Meta?? That is the price i have to pay just to look at the pictures of the rooms and check availability? Don't buy that bs about cookies being needed to make the website more convenient to use... cookies are used by the one company to target you for marketing or to sell to another company (to then target you for marketing). If you value your privacy, try looking at the websites offered up by The Wall Street Hotel, The Carlyle, the Ritz Nomad (among dozens of others).. they operate just fine without me having to adjust my privacy settings. I mean, I know that accepting cookies will not result in a catastrophic tech event... but they are still bullshyt. And if we register our discontent, business websites will eventually modify their policies. Otherwise... looks like a nice hotel from the few photos i could see on their site.
