The front desk staff was not very welcoming or
The front desk staff was not very welcoming or accommodating. Arrived for Mother's Day brunch and the receptionists tried to seat us at a table that were up some stairs, and when I shared that my husband was coming with a stroller, the receptionist staff (girl with curly brown hour) looked annoyed and told us to come back to the front and she'd ask her supervisors for another table...instead she just walked away and left me and my son in the front. After 10 minutes, I asked another staff member for assistance and she was more helpful and actually got in contact with the main receptionist staff person and got us a seat. When our food arrived, my husband's dish had bacon in it (we don't eat meat) even though their menu did NOT mention any meat in this particular dish. And for my toddler's meal (pancake w/ fruit), it came with a side of bacon/sausage and when we said we didn't want the meat, they said he could have an extra pancake--to which we responded, yes please. But when his dish came out, no extra pancake. The waitress was nonchalant about it and was like we actually can't give an extra pancake. And I'm thinking, why offer something that you're not sure of (?) Overall, this place caused my Mother's Day to start off on a bad foot, and I have no plans to return here.

The drink purple rain here is a hit! So are the lobster deviled eggs and the calypso shrimp. The rotisserie chicken needs more flavor, it was bland. Whomever created that signature in house seasoning need to go back to the drawing board or go sit in their grandma or auntie kitchen to get some lessons in seasoning because that ain't it. Nice location with a cool but small outdoor beer garden style area, with its own entrance and exit. which is nice. Our server, heavy set woman with black hair appeared to be overwhelmed with larger parties so maybe she should stick to smaller groups. Food and drinks came out timely tho. I would come back to try other items on the menu and sit indoors. They're two different vibes. Parking sucks in this area but hey it's Wicker Park so that's to be expected.

Best old fashioneds. I love the chicken dip and French fries. All of the appetizers are really good as well. And everyone is always super friendly.

The food was good but the personal was rude and begged for money. Sad that this is the case.
Be the first to ReplyWent for Sunday brunch and had an excellent experience.
Sever was new but did a solid job. Patio was a vibe and plenty of seating options outside. Overall the food was above average but we LOVED the selection available on the doggie menu. Multiple options served warm in a cute little bowl, we loved it. For my entree I got the biscuits & gravy, egg, and side of hashbrowns. Taste was on point, biscuits moist with a nice exterior, gravy thick with chunks of sausage. Sausage they use is over spiced a bit and def the main flavor of the gravy. Also didn't get enough gravy but really no biggie. Wife enjoyed the wicker park omelette, pretty standard. Got my dog some kind of scrambled egg, spinach, chicken bowl. She devoured it. Would highly reccomend if you'd like some nice patio action with the pup, otherwise wouldn't be on my radar as the food is above average, and the beer below.

I called this place requesting a patio reservation for brunch because of my dog. I was told patio was first-come first-serve, which I totally understand. Over the phone, however, they said that I should be able to get seated on the patio right away because it wasn't usually crowded. But we were still told to wait 30-40 minutes when we showed up. We probably would've left if it actually took that long. Luckily it took less time, but still a weird situation. I liked the vibe of the patio though! There are fun decorations, and there were many dogs hanging out. The service was great. The brunch items are made to order, so the food came out fast. As for the meal itself, it was mediocre at best. The Wicker Park omelet was kind of dry and lacking flavor. I had bites of cinnamon roll, pancakes, and cornbread from my friends who ordered them, which were pretty good. I would definitely lean towards sweet breakfast items rather than savory here. I live pretty far from here and it was honestly not worth the drive.

Food spectacular, great service. Favorites, corn bread, Wrightwood salad, Oreo ice cream dessert, croquettes, carrot cake, salmon.

The Perch has excellent food and local craft beer! I had I think the best crab cake in my life here! It was so fresh, well seasoned, and filled with crab. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu.
Be the first to ReplyFor the service and price of the food it was outstanding.
It was on the more classier side for a brewery. Well thought out for the layout on the inside & outside (for summer). I had the Baby back ribs with fries & mashed potatoes. It was smoked & or cooked (can't remember if both or one) over 2 or 3 types of wood. Had that hint of cherry flavor. Would definitely comeback.

We went to dinner at The Perch last night with our 3 young children. The immense hospitality throughout our entire visit was so appreciated! The gentleman at the front got us set up with a high chair and booster for our kids and they even have a stand to put a car seat on. The kids cups of water with fun straws and little wax sticks to play with made our kids smile. Our server Tim was excellent and kind. We always love the food there - a great menu of options and delicious flavors. The free kids meals from 4-6pm is a nice offering too! We may make a visit to The Perch a weekly thing!

Just came in for a quick drink while waiting for a table for dinner at a nearby restaurant. The beers on tap from Finch brewing Co are super tasty and I like that you can get them in small taster glasses. There wasn't any wait for bar seating at 6pm on a Friday. The shrimp and corn chowder on Fridays is super tasty and was a great appetizer. Perch is ol' reliable for getting a quick drink or small bite while waiting for nearby sushi taku or tortello. They have nice patio seating when it's warm too!
Be the first to ReplyThe Perch is one of our favorite restaurants.
We recently celebrated my mothers bday there and our server Honey was so so nice. She was so attentive, we had a toddler with us too and she was very accommodating . We had ribs, baked chicken, cornbread, and corn beef. It was all delicious!

My girlfriends and I came here for some food prior to our night out. We decided to share a bunch of appetizers because they stood out more than the rest of the menu. Our waiter was nice and the place itself was cute! Very chic and modernized. I enjoyed the decorations. Food:Cheese Curbs - these were really good but I didn't know that they also came with fried veggies. Not that ai didn't enjoy them, but they threw me off when biting into what I thought was a cheese curd haha. Mac & Cheese - I don't recommend - the flavors were not there for me and I'm a mac & cheese fan but this wasn't it + extra ingredients weren't neededCroquettes - soooo soft and yummyShrimps - well seasoned and freshSpinach/Artichoke Dip- Delicious and what we were specifically craving, so satisfyingWe split by 3 and didn't spend much
Be the first to ReplyGET THE CARROT CAKE!!!! It's a hidden gem.
It's literally amazing. A table of 5 of us just devoured the entire thing in 4 minutes!

The food was so delicious! We stopped in after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. Everything tasted great and our waitress was fantastic! I would definitely come again!

Every now and then my walks take me by places I never would have gone to if I didn't walk by the door. Today brought me to the Perch. Peering through the window I could see they had their own brewery and the decor looked like a nice place to stop for lunch. I'm blown away by the staff, ambiance, food and service.Started off with the Skillet Corn Bread with Honey Maple Butter... (drool worthy), next came the lobster deviled eggs which were just heavenly. As perfect as you could make it bursting with flavours and texture; best I've ever had. Plating was exquisite. For my main was the grilled tuna salad which was so perfectly balanced with freshness, acidity, texture... it had everything. Even the picked ginger was the perfect compliment to give it that Japanese Tuna Tataki Salad feel. I washed it all down with sweet tea that's brewed in house and served with your own syrup to customize the sweetness to your liking. Just excellent. Also the price is just right for everything too. Please try this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Just went yo the Fat Tuesday Murder Mystery dinner at the Perch. I haven't been there before. Easy to get to via Uber, I'm thinking not great for parking. Ambiance for the place was nice, and the dividers between booths was very nice. The host of the murder mystery greeted us at the door, and wove us into the story from our arrival. He did a great job getting around to all the tables. We learned later that he was sussing out patrons to be actors in the mystery. One of the folks at our table was chosen, and this made it even more fun. We met the table next to us as we were all on one team. The service was great (thank you Jim), and drinks were drunk. Actually we were down a bottle of wine before any food came (would have been nice to have bread on the table).Jambalaya, dirty rice, collard greens with salmon & short ribs were served family style. Great food for such a large crowd. The professionals did a great job of moving the game along and coaxing the guest actors in their parts. We all had a great time, and we'll definitely try that again at Perch!

was invited to attend The Perch's Masquerade Murder Mystery Party. not sure what to expect, but boy, did we have fun! The players were wonderful - dynamic, sharp-witted, good-humored, and talented. Their costumes were cool, and so were all the wonderful masks and costumes among the guests. Everyone played along with the "investigation" and all were good sports about not correctly identifying the killer. And if all that weren't enough, the food was excellent, too. Nice menu. Deeply flavored dishes, well prepared and nicely presented. Top notch waitstaff. Rollicking good fun. Laissez les bons temps roulez at The Perch, people!

We just had beers and apps, but both appetizers (the Cheese Curds and the Chips with Blue Cheese) were phenomenal. Their in house brewed beers were great as well. Very comfortable sidewalk seating for warm days, and our server was great. Can't wait to go back for a full dinner!

The perch was a pretty good brunch vibe! We sat outside with some friends, the music was pretty great, and the waiter came to check on us often. The menu was pretty extensive, with some unique dishes! We tried the croquettes, which were not amazing in my opinion, but worth a try. I loved the drink I got, the matcha matcha man, which had tequila and matcha syrup wit some other fun additions also. I also really loved the blueberry skilled cornbread! Apparently that's the bench flavor but they have a jalapeño cornbread on the dinner menu the tostadas were new on the menu, and were pretty good also. The place is also dog-friendly, and they have a cute dog menu for pups also. I'd go back and check out some more food and drinks forsure. Give it a try!

Considering all the great reviews this place has, we decided to visit and try out the "highly rated" food.Food: The Grilled Mahi Sandwich was a tad bit salty but was still pretty good. 4/5.Wrightwood Salad: I would have hoped that the salad would be fresh and well-dressed. Alas, it was neither. The lettuce was soggy and the dressing was excessive. The croutons were very soggy, likely due to the excessive dressing. The chicken was okay. Overall not a great salad. 2/5.Hygiene: There was lipstick on our glasses. Dishes were dirty. There's nothing grosser than dirty dishes, especially in a time where diseases and infections are at a global high. 0/5.Service: Not friendly, not attentive either. 1/5.Ambience: Great ambience. Music wasn't too loud, lights were bright, outdoor patio is great too. Typical brewery vibes. 4/5.Mean score: 2.1/5

I was drawn to The Perch because of its shady patio area in front. Nate and I were wandering around and wanted a snack - I specifically needed something green after a couple days of indulging in deep dish and donuts. We were seated outside right away and ordered the croquettes and Brussels sprout salad. They have brunch, lunch, dinner, and even a dog menu for their patio! The vibe inside was wonderful - bright, airy, and open. The croquettes came out first, and I appreciated the nice timing on the food delivery. They were crispy on the outside and soft inside, but just didn't have a ton of flavor. The smoked paprika aioli helped but overall they could've packed a little more punch. The Brussels sprouts salad was a nice portion with a lot of cheese! I liked the dried blueberries, that's not something I've seen often on a salad. The salad was a bit too heavily dressed, but the greens all seemed fresh and it hit the spot. I'd come back to try their brunch and enjoy the outdoor space again.

Great service. We love the croquettes and lobster deviled eggs. We also got the Oreo ice cream cake for dessert
