The Qui Korean BBQ Gainesvill Va
AYCE Korean BBQ sounded interesting. Food quality bery disappointing: shrimp were tiny, hard to peel and very little taste. Thin sliced brisket and thin sliced pork belly flavorless and tough. Bulgogi was the only meat we would have ordered again. Butter chicken was good, butter honey calamari was edible because of the sweetness but inherently, squid and octopus have little taste by themselves. Optional side dishes: rice cakes was just a dense lump of rice with something drizzled in top. Not fans. Rice bowl was good to have with meats but it got hard once it got cold. Side dishes and salad were traditional Korean fare. We compared this restaurant to the Gogi Grill in Orlando where the meats were all seriously marinated, juicy and flavorful. Side dishes inclided delicious fried rice and a salad that was delectable. Edamame, wantons and more were abailable for a well-rounded, taste and nutritious meal without the 90 minute clock running like Qui. Won't return but interesting concept.

I love this place. I have gone 5 times. I wish it wouldn't be weird to go solo because I'd go alone. Loved the peach soju. The beef bugulgi and soy garlic chicken are my favorite. Love the fluffy egg. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. I seriously need to find more friends so I can go every weekend. 😊

Pronounce 'Gu-i' (Korean for grill) Qui is an AYCE Korean barbeque joint in a quickly expanding market in Chantilly. There are almost a dozen ala carte and AYCE places now in the Chantilly/Centreville area. What makes this one better or different? There are a lot of different cuts of meat to choose from. I think a lot of them are unnecessary. Give me the thin sliced brisket, pork belly, and short rib and I'm happy. Unfortunately, on a Sunday afternoon (full price), no short rib offered. The hot sides like cheese corn and egg souffle are prepped in the kitchen but finished off on your tabletop grill. The adults definitely got their fill. The kids, on the other hand, didn't have as good an experience. First of all, my average sized 8-yo was charged adult price. I would have been happy with 50% off, but full price is outrageous. The rest of the kids (6, 6, and 4) barely ate 1 adult portion of food. Fortunately (or unfortunately), they overcharged us beyond the adult charge of my 8-yo and comped us one meal. So if you're bringing kids, caveat emptor. You may be paying way more than their fill.

One of my new favorite KBBQ AYCE places in the area. Qui recently opened and their location is so large that they feature 2 levels of seating. They offer AYCE, a la carte and an extensive drink menu. From the AYCE menu I definitely enjoyed the spicy pork belly, spicy bulgogi, thinly sliced brisket and the pan fried dumplings. The meats came out room temp and cooked really quickly besides the pork of course. I would stay away from the chicken and seafood items as they weren't that great. If you feel that you need more meat definitely get the beef combo set for 2. The chuck flap, brisket plate and the black Angus prime rib were amazing. The sides were fresh and the yes the pan fried dumplings are included as well as the bean paste soups. Now Qui stands out for a couple of reasons. Covid measures are taken seriously as everyone is wearing, gloves, masks and this location is spotless even on a busy week night. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable of the cuts. Then food quality wise meat here is fresh. I left not feeling groggy and sluggish. Also, when you first arrive pay attention to the silverware they have plates that feature 4 slots for 4 different sauces. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. Highly recommend this place is you have a large party or just want to try different cuts. If you want quality KBBQ and don't mind the drive Qui is the new spot!
