Had a great time at the restaurant!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the restaurant. The staff, particularly Sanyogita, was exceptionally kind and welcoming, making our visit truly delightful.

High tea was fantastic. Our host Sanyogita was phenomenal. Extremely courteous and knowledgeable. There was plenty of variety pertaining to teas, types of coffees, pastries etc.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and fun afternoon tea.
The tea at the Sanderson is amazing. Fun for a girls trip, couples, or a creative fun outing. The tea is excellent! (Try the Cheshire Cat, it is my favorite.) The staff is wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to be helpful. Shout out to Barbara the barista. I will definitely be coming back.

Sanyogita has been the best host for us during our afternoon tea session. Making it a special one for the Alice in the Wonderland experience. Ordered the White Rabbit tea and it complimented well with the tea set. They have a vegetable and vegan option too if thatโs your thing.

Elegant, cozy restaurant with outstanding service. Special thanks to Sanyogita for her warm service and getting me a customized vegan breakfast.

Excellent service. The food was very good, nice presentation, but the best thing was the team, no doubts. My favorite thing here were the tea's, and the Benedict eggs! We were really taken care of by the maรฎtre and Sanyogita. I must say I felt like I was at home. The decoration of the hotel is also very welcoming and comfy, which helps the experience. In a nutshell, I would definitely recommend coming here for breakfast... or something else!
Be the first to ReplyTERRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD
I've been in the restaurant with my partner last Monday. At the beginning everything was going well, we ordered a bottle of wine and accidentally the waiter broke the cork, he went to the bar to ask for help, and he came back with the same bottle but unfortunately when he served it was some cork inside the bottle so we asked if he could change it. our surprise was when we seen the bartender taking a bottle already opened, straining the wine that we send back and refilling it.. as we saw this we asked to the waiter for a new bottleโฆ He changed without problem but the bartender seem really upset about it. when the food came it was a bit cold but we didnโt complain at we thought it was already to much, for our surprise when the steak that we ordered came, it wasnโt cooked at the point we asked but again we just ate it, two bites because at the third we noticed a weird flavour, as if it was offโฆ we just asked for the bill and went out. We really do not recommend it at all!!

It used to be a popular bar and restaurant. Now the atmosphere is very dull and it looks like the restaurant is slowly dying. The only thing I liked it was the service of the waiter girl, she was very polite and nice. The food wasnโt tasty at all. Definitely not coming back
Be the first to ReplyMad Hatters Afternoon Tea was so delicious!!
Wien was fantastic!!! She was so kind and lovely and took my all my photos for me!! All of the food was really great and yummy, the complimentary cocktails; just everything!! THE TEA WAS ALSO MARVELOUS!!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Afternoon Tea
I had afternoon tea at Sanderson and it was one of the best dining experiences of my life. It was my birthday and I went to celebrate by myself. The waitress Sanyogita was my host. She was incredibly friendly. Explained all the items to me and was very welcoming. She offered me refills on several items and brought me different teas. She checked on me often and made sure I felt great at all times. The waiter (unfortunately I didn't check his name) brought me a birthday treat as well and sang Happy Birthday to me. Sanyogita gave me boxes for all the extra treats that I couldn't finish. It was overall a fantastic experience and made my solo birthday celebration a great one.

the food was amazing, the only thing to comment is that it would be nice have lower tables inside the restaurant more comfortable than the current ones. Our waiter Nuria was exceptional, she provide a 5 star service, was super kind and the best was the amazing recommendations that she gave us. I will come back. Enjoyed the dinner a lot.
Be the first to ReplyCheaper than other 5* hotel afternoon teas but uncomparable
The Sanderson hotel is like one of those Instagram vs reality pics, behind the tarted up photos there's no 5* anything to be found. It's dirty, very tired and the atmosphere is flat. The staff were very attentive, I was offered extra sandwiches 3 times and they were quick to assist if you caught their eye nothing was too much trouble. Its not a polished service, the level of detail isn't there compared to the other 5* hotels. It's as if the training the Sanderson give their wait staff doesn't do the wait staffs effort justice. I understand they normally serve afternoon tea outside(in plastic tents which looked very cheap in person) but it was cold when I visited so I was seated inside. The room felt like a lobby. The food was good and certainly attractive but I wouldn't go back, its cheaper than other afternoon teas but worse value for money.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and excellent staff
Rita and Zanzibar took really good care of us, we had a reservation for dinner before having some drinks but we saw that they have an outdoor heated courtyard and it was a very cosy space for a date. The food was delicious, they have a wide variety of dishes with a lot of influence from Japanese cuisine but also classics like the club sandwich or the burger. They also have vegetarian and vegan options. We would highlight the sushi and the beef rib which is especially tasty. 100% recommendable, I hope to come back soon!
Be the first to ReplySuperb dining experience.
Having popped in for an early evening meal, we were greeted by both attentive and friendly staff and a delightfully tasty meal. With the excellent variety on the menu and a seperate bar area, it made for a welcoming and happy atmosphere - perfect for what we were looking for.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Tried to get in contact with the restaurant 3 times now but no luck.
Having been for the afternoon before, the service this time was very poor, we constantly had to ask for our tea to be refilled and didnโt get asked if everything was okay once. In fact the food got plonked down as soon as we did and that was that.
The menu read Parmesan in the toastie, it was in fact goats cheese when I bit into it which makes me ill. When calling the waiter over he just apologised and said he would make us new ones - 45 minutes later TOAST and HAM arrived. That was it. The bread was stale on the other items and the cake also didnโt taste particularly fresh.
Overall a very disappointing experience for the price.
Good cake
Quiet and slow service. Great pudding and very nice terrace. We had a manager with great customer service skills.
Be the first to ReplyLousy service
Really lousy service. We sat at our table for 15 mins and none of the waitresses took ANY notice of us. Then I approached one of the men working there. His reply was โIโll be with you shortlyโ. Not worth a stay. Really.
Be the first to ReplyMad Hatter's Tea Party at the Sanderson
In terms of the food, this was a really delicious and well thought out afternoon tea. The tea flavours were intriguing and both the savory and sweet options were very tasty. The problem was on arrival, we were told we would be sitting outside, under a plastic gazebo on a freezing February day ! This was not mentioned when booking and whilst the waiter said that blankets would be provided and there were outdoor heaters, this was not enough to make us want to sit outside on such a bitterly cold winter's day. It's unbelievable that with such high prices charged at the Sanderson, this is what is expected of their afternoon tea guests. The waiter did accommodate us, setting up a table in the corner of the room, which was much appreciated, but we felt sorry for all the customers who had to sit outside. This needs to be reviewed, or at least made much clearer when booking.

Always excellent service, lovely friendly staff and rooms so perfectly clean . The beds are very comfy with super linen. TV high quality. The only downside is the lighting which is rather low and makes it difficult to see how much makeup has been applied!!!
Be the first to ReplyLunch & Breakfast @ The Sanderson
Recently stayed at The Sanderson so experienced both lunch & breakfast.
When we arrived for lunch (about 1.30) it was much quieter than I would have expected.
Initially quite a curt greeting from Maitre Dโ however, once he realised we were staying at the hotel he relaxed & was very helpful.
So quiet was the restaurant that we had the choice of where to sit !!! so initially opted to sit inside.
As we didnโt want a full 3 course lunch we opted for food from the bar menu. Waiter was very charming & went with his suggestion of chicken shawarma wrap & a burger for the husband. Both very nice ๐
After lunch as the atmosphere looked more fun we decided to move to the courtyard garden to finish our drink. Lots of people partaking in Mad Hatters tea.
Breakfast was perfect. Plenty to choose from the cold buffet & warm options cooked to order.
Very Disappointing
Dinner last night was so difficult because the music was SOOOH loud, it was hard to communicate with fellow diners. Despite numerous requests, the management refused to turn the music down because they had an event on that spread into the bar.
The restaurant should have been closed in these circumstances or diners warned in advance.
The food was mostly good except the published items were not served as they should have been and some of it cold. Instead, the chef just seemed to throw anything he felt on the plate hoping diners wouldn't notice.
Overall, very disappointing. We would not visit here again.
Good value with 50% off currently
Had the scallops and octopus to start followed by the chicken, venison and fish for mains and then the black forest delice and deconstructed pear brulee to finish off. Food was tasty and well presented, particularly desserts but not sure would pay full price. Outside and lobby of hotel are both quite impressive but main restaurant and stairs up to the bathrooms feel a bit tired and are probably due a renovations. Service wasn't the best either given it was almost empty and took nearly 30 minutes to get a cocktail which was then the wrong cocktail. Overall a decent meal though and good portion size
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambient, good food and service
We visited the Sanderson hotel restaurant last night. We had the set menu deal booked and we enjoyed a great culinary and customer service experience.
The table we were given was really nice, the food was excellent in both presentation and taste and our waiter, Hamidu, provided awesome service. We ended up spending 3 hours there given the nice time we were having.
