Great food
Four of us ate dinner here on a Saturday evening, with our two dogs. The food was wonderful and staff very helpful and pleasant. Even though we had the dogs with us, we were given a good table in an area overlooking the garden. Perfect position for two very tired dogs to chill out as we ate.

Wow what a lovely, comfortable weekend we have just had at The Rose & Crown, perfect from beginning to end. We were there to commemorate my mum's birthday, as she past away last year. Her and my dad had lived in the are for 30 years so we knew the area. Food was great, room was exceedingly comfortable and staff very friendly. Will definitely be back and will recommend it to family and friends x
Be the first to ReplyToo short a visit!
We only stayed one night but we would have stayed longer if we could. The room was clean and comfortable with a HUGE bed, nice toiletries, a very swanky en-suite and nice touches like homemade cookies and a cafetierre with real coffee. Our dinner last night was amazing, breakfast choices were extensive and the staff were all delightful. A real birthday treat, we like visiting Snettisham and will be back to the Rose and Crown.

Beautiful pub and decor, food was fantastic, could not fault the staff, so friendly and very quick service. Have been on two occasions, had different meals and both times have been faultless. Would recommend for vegetarians as a number of options.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely Fabulous - the Best food in Norfolk is claimed and we agree. 5 STARS!
Truly fabulous! Great pub, buzzing in the warm sunshine when we arrived, with happy sounds from all the customers. The lovely receptionist couldn't be more helpful. Stunning room, warm, comfortable, bathroom with top quality fittings, a real treat to stay in, perfect! Dinner was brilliant too, with great food, a warm ambience and caring service. A perfect experience in a fabulous pub restaurant - heartily recommended.

We’ve enjoyed a few meals at The Rose & Crown and have always found the staff to be very welcoming, the food and service very good. There’s ample parking too. If there was one thing I’d say that’s a little off putting and that is that the minority of dog owners do not keep their dogs in check. This is not the staff’s fault, it’s great that some areas are dog friendly but owners should be asked to keep their dogs under the tables or close beside them and not greeting other diners or wandering around on long leads. Again, not the staff’s fault.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent from start to finish!
We booked for a one night stay with dinner booked for 8pm. Breakfast was included. Very welcoming reception. Room was comfortable, very clean and warm. Bathroom looked brand new. Bed very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was wonderful and the service very quick and efficient. We slept well and were up early to the beach to see the Pink footed geese leave at sunrise, along with masses of Oyster Catchers. Back to the hotel for a marvellous breakfast, lots of choice and variety on offer. Only downside (if It can be listed as one)!😅...TV reception is very poor.

We recently stayed overnight as a party of 7 friends having traveled to see The Thursford Show. We were greeted warmly and all shown to our beautifully appointed rooms. Beds were very comfy and the well stocked tea/coffee tray in our room was much appreciated. We ate in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast, both of which were excellent! The entire visit was an absolute pleasure and we shall definitely look to return next year.
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant weekend!!
Wonderful pub, made by it's staff who are lovely, attentive and happy. Comfortable rooms and the food is delicious, whoever does the puds is very clever, got my taste buds going with every bite! Great atmosphere in the bar with friendly service and good beer.
Be the first to ReplyA real Gem!
Originally looking for an Airbnb in the area and came across the Rose & Crown by chance. What a gem. Lovely comfortable room, very friendly staff who were always there to help and my goodness, the food! Breakfast was an absolute 5* delight and matched by the dining menu. Two EV charging points at very good rates was the icing on the cake. Looking at the collection of awards they have I’m clearly not alone in being impressed Would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you

Lovely comfortable room unusually I have no criticism, a great find and if you need to stay in that area you couldn't do better. Great value for money and a lovely breakfast as well. Thoroughly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyHuge price for one of the worst Sunday Roasts I've had !
Eleven of us visited for a Sunday meal to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday , & to be honest , I'd say that the service given & the quality of food fell woefully short of expectation - charging over the top for something they're clearly not delivering. A standard Sunday roast that was presented with burnt Yorkshire puddings , rock hard potatoes , string on the plate from the beef , very average veg , orders they got wrong , over half the deserts not available from an already small menu. In short & having eaten Sunday roasts in various places across the local area for over 20yrs now , I'd say this was one of the worst , & for £18.50 , hugely overpriced !

We love The Rose and Crown, it’s historical feel, crooked stairs and cosy corners. Room was lovely and definitely my favourite , breakfast delicious . Service is always good too. Really like the new residents lounge and all the info in the very comprehensive brochure in the rooms .
Be the first to ReplyVillage pub, hotel, great food - all things to all people!
While renting a cottage in Snettisham we visited this great village pub 4 times in a week and enjoyed every visit, be it for a drink, a pub lunch or a full blown mea. We found it great on all counts with really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. All the food we had was delicious - the only disappointment was the cheese board which was far too meagre for the £9.50 price tag (though they did bring a bit more when we queried it) so stick to the puds - they're great!
Be the first to ReplyWe all had a lovely experience at our village Rose & crown pub Snettisham
The restaurant is lovely and spacious ! The staff were very attentive to our needs especial Hannah our waitress so friendly and helpful and clearly loves her job! As for the food as delicious as always and freshly cooked and the dessert was a work of art to look at and so tasty to eat !
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely fabulous stay and the staff were just amazing - thank you all!!

Be the first to ReplyUnplanned Sunday Lunch Stop - Fantatsic Food and Staff (Food Visit Only)
On a trip from the Midlands to Thursford for the Christmas Spectacular and with traffic running well decided to try and stop for a bit of Sunday lunch. A quick searcjh of the internet and The Rose and Crown popped up as a suggested venue. Anyway we headed that way at 2pm on a Sunday without booking not holding out too many hopes. The car park was full but I managed to leave the car briefly in a suitable spot whilst I popped in to reception. Not aware of the layout of the place I ended up in what I think was reception for the accomodation, anyway the lady on duty (20/11/2022), sorry I missed your name, explained that in the pub area tables were first come first served effectiveley, but the same menu was avaialble in the restraunt area. She thought they were fully booked but would have a look for me. Anyway I popped out to find a parking spot (Id seen people leaving) and by the time Id got back in with family members the lady had kindly arranged a table for us in the restraunt area, and with the lads and ladies serving seeming quite busy she even took us to the table. This lady then returned to reception and a very helpful Hannah took over, I wish I had just a pinch of this ladies energy and enthusiasm. Anyway from then on, the service continued as it had started, simply superb. Im not a big Sunday roast eater when Im out but chose the traditional Beef Sunday Roast. It was simply one of the best Sunday Roasts Ive ever eaten out, with a great selection of seasonal veg all topped with an incredible yorkshire pudding. Food was great quality and reasonably priced, beer was excellent and reasonably priced, staff were superb and the veune had a great atmosphere. We shall be back but will book to ensure next time, would want to chance being disappointed as its obviously a very popular venue.
Be the first to ReplyVery poor meal
We had dinner in the restaurant, a table of four. The service was good but the meal was expensive and very poor. The mussels (two of our table had mussels) were horrid. The worst mussels I have eaten in the 30 or more years I have lived in Norfolk. Two of our party had burgers for a main. The burgers were distinctly average. Worst of all was the table that was so sticky we had to ask, more than once, for paper napkins to cover the table surface so that we didn’t stick to it. Yuck! We were never asked if our food was acceptable so there was no opportunity to complain.
Be the first to ReplyDog friendly treat.
Our second stay and we enjoyed this one just as much as the previous. Although I booked the wrong room, my fault entirely, the pub and rooms are properly dog friendly and the pub itself, just friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent, the curry in particular well worth the legendary status it has developed. The service can be a little erratic but all were really friendly and keen to do well. The rooms appear to be a little on the expensive side and the bedding is the only real disappointment with a thin duvet and cheap sheets. However, the breakfast redeems this all and is amongst the best we have encountered. All in all, a little pricy for the rooms but the overall package is well worth it.
Be the first to ReplyNot Fast Food….
It all started well, cheery welcome , comfortable corner table…..then….. I’d have expected menus, and a “would you like something to drink while you decide on what you’d like to eat ?” But no, we had to ask for menus and a wine list After some time, these arrived , and we ordered a bottle of wine, which having a cork, I think, needed opening and was left for us to pour…. Time slipped by and we eventually were able to place our order, after having a slight problem explaining we wanted Small Scampi as a starter, not as a main. When it arrived it was clearly Large Scampi’s little brother complete with chips and salad, we found this ‘interesting’. Most restaurants have starter scampi as a kind of hors d’oeuvre (no chips…) Everything else was fine, the Chicken Kyiv’s, the pie and the Sea Bass. We were then left in peace for quite a time, during which we lost any desire for dessert or coffee. Eventually we sent a search party out to get the bill……which, unsurprisingly, was, with tip, under £40 a head. All in all, good food value but pretty random service, luckily we hadn’t come for fast food….
Be the first to ReplyAmazing play area and food!
Really great place! My son aged 3 loved the play area. It was spacious, interesting and safe and could easily go up to age 10! The food was super super tasty and I can also recommend the curry! It was beaut! Was so nice to eat and watch your child at the same time and will definitely come here again!

We were celebrating our Anniversary and wanted to have a good experience and enjoy good food, Nice atmosphere in a lovely quaint village hotel, We were not disappointed, Our hotel was just round the corner so we could walk back easily.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience ! Well worth a visit
We came here as a table of 17 and had the best experience !! The food was amazing - especially the scallops and tandoori sea bream which were the specials of the day On top of that the staff are absolutely brilliant - great service, excellent customer care and really impressed with everyone we met We are back to today enjoying the pub Garden with food and snacks and are not disappointed Highly recommend this free house pub - we will definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyNot to be missed!
I could not fault the meals. Delightful! Do not miss an opportunity to eat here. We found this eatery/pub/hotel by chance and have not regretted visiting. We were so impressed we decided to try to book a room to extend our stay in the area. We will share this stop with our friends and family.
Be the first to ReplyA bit disappointed.
Room ok very clean and lovely but shower over bath kept going very hot then cold trying to get in the bath for a shower for a 74 old was much too high and dangerous nothing to hold on to. Breakfast was ok but as a stayer charging more for a Latte was outrageous. I expect it if I was not staying there. Staff very friendly. Little thing need improving.
