The Stonehouse Restaurant Santa Barbara Reviews from The Last Year
A must!
One of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had anywhere in the world. Truly a don’t miss experience. Beautiful surroundings, FTT.
This was a once or twice in a lifetime event for us.
On our honeymoon we tried the Stonehouse Resto and were so pleasantly surprised. The 500 acres grounds with farm to table produce, the sweeping lemon orchards, the view of the coast! It was endlessly beautiful. We started with a drink and mocktail at the speakeasy, Plough and Angel. It was the first time my new husband found a mocktail he liked that was savory, not sweet. Service was very helpful. I had a wonderful St. Germain Spritz. The dinner and wine list in the Stonehouse was incredible. Our main waiter was very knowledgeable and helped us order. We started with fresh grilled octopus and homemade bread and butter. For the entree, we shared the fresh flown in Dover Sole for two with asparagus and potatoes that was served tableside. The wine list was endless and I was tempted to try a glass of the Yquiem but I'm leaving that for next time (starting at $125/glass). Instead I opted for a 30 year old Tawny Port with a delicious chocolate bittersweet souffle' and my husband had a wonderful lemon tarte made from the Meyer Lemons grown onsite. All in all, we paid $485 including drinks, tips and dinner with dessert for two on April 15, 2024. We are hoping to go for our 5th anniversary.
Simply impeccable.
Sat outside at sunset and listened to the live acoustic guitar. Ordered a perfect martini and enjoyed outstanding service. We had the rack of lamb and Steak Diane. They were perfect... and the mashed potatoes! Oh my god. Worth every penny based on the attention to every detail both in food and service.

SERVICE AND AMBIENCE 10/10 seriously the servers were so patient, so kind, the property is gorgeous, only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the actual food was not that good, and even for a higher end restaurant I would still say the portions were small, I went with a big group and we shared almost the entire menu, and none of us really loved our food and we tried each others, and we're not amazed, don't get me wrong the food isn't horrible just definitely not as good as we were hoping it would be, drinks are bad too, the cocktails tasted either way too strong or watered down, but the speakeasy is super cute but the drinks just weren't good in their either
Really a very nice high end place
Beautiful place, with wonderful gardens and older buildings to walk around. Had a lunch in the outdoor area of stone house.

The staff here is wonderful! The food was delicious! The views were beautiful. I did not have a reservation nor was I a guest, but regardless the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Celebrating my best friends birthday here was a dream come true. I hope to stay longer in the future. The bananas foster was the cherry on top!
Consistently a great experience to dine here---
This restaurant never disappoints. We were not hurried to drink, eat and run. Fantastic waiter, Sasha. All appetizers, food, drinks and dessert were spot on.
What a fantastic way to spend a birthday.
From the gorgeous grounds, unbelievably attentive service (car was waiting for us upon exiting), to the delicious food, Stonehouse and all of San Ysidro Ranch are what I imagine heaven would be like if such a place existed. Well done, Montecito.
Warm inviting atmosphere.
Loved the old world atmosphere. Food was fabulous from appetizers to desserts. Hung out at the speak easy downstairs.

Wow the insufferable hostess on the phone was horrifyingly rude this morning. Not sure how they can train their staff to speak to guests in the way she did. She had no regard for the future of the restaurant as no one would speak to a guest like that if they cared. This was gross and I'll never be back as a local who has been to this restaurant many times (and a wedding at the property). Yuck!

Where do I begin? Our dining experience was the best I have ever experienced. The property was charming and beautiful. The service was outstanding. Every employee made me feel welcome. The food and the drinks were heavenly. I am pretty speechless how great it was. I started off ordering the Smoky bloody margarita. Our server recommended it and did not disappoint. Our appetizer was the calamari and our entrees were the Vegan burger and Chilean Sea Bass. We finished off with the chocolate soufflé. Everything was perfection. Worth every penny.

I've been to this restaurant a few times, and I noticed a common issue that has been consistent with this establishment - unprofessional and unrefined service. They set a table of 4 with 3 plates, so I asked for a 4th. After 3 more times of asking, I finally got the plate. To get water refills, we had to ask 2 more times. Also, we ordered coffee and the waiter brought out empty coffee cups with old coffee stains at the bottom, which meant they were not washed thoroughly and properly. Waiters are not as attentive or trained well. The service here is just not up to par for a high-end restaurant in a 5-star resort. Other than this issue, I really don't have a problem. The restaurant is lovely. It has a beautiful lush garden feel. I've dined here at daytime and nighttime and it's classy and romantic. Food is consistently good with lots of flavors and quality. From yellowtail crudo and calamari to cioppino and steaks- food is overall delicious. Some dishes are better than others and steaks can be overcooked at times, so it can be hit or miss. I would still love to come back here to dine. But they do need to take service more seriously for this type of high-end establishment, especially considering how much it costs. It's very pricey so expect to spend a lot of money.
Beautiful ambiance, and amazing food.
Loved the scenery and the quality of the meals ingredients. I felt the soufflé was the best dessert and the baked Alaska was a little underwhelming. The day was windy so the flames went out on the alcohol very quickly and so the dessert had a very strong alcohol taste since none of it burned off.
Beautiful. Attentive. Expensive. But not world class food.
The restaurant is beautiful. The service is forst class. The food is not. Not inventive. Not well seasoned. Not a broad variety of choices.
The Dreamy Stonehouse Restaurant
What an amazing experience! The ambience on the patio was absolutely gorgeous with romantic lighting. Our server Giancarlo provided outstanding service, with spot on recommendations. The food and wine selections were amazing! There were complimentary delicious house cured olives and bread offerings of cheddar and Parmesan lavash and tapioca flour gluten free rosemary and thyme mini muffins. As starters, my husband and I shared the Japanese yellowtail crudo as well as the grilled peach and Reiner Farms burrata over arugula and mixed greens infused with a lemon vinaigrette. For our main course, we enjoyed steak diane flambéed table side with Joel Rubuchon mashed potatoes. Our dessert was sticky toffee pudding with mascarpone vanilla ice cream. We had two wines by the glass, but the winner was the 2018 Jonata Todos red blend, from Santa Inez Ballard Canyon. The entertainment provided by vocalist and acoustic guitarist Chris Woolley was delightful! If you’re looking for a delicious and romantic dinner in Santa Barbara, you owe it to yourself to splurge on the Stonehouse Restaurant at San Ysidro Ranch.
Good allergy awareness
I have an allergy and Alejandro our waiter on the evening was very aware of my needs and subtle so made me feel just like another customer and not ‘a special case!’ Very reassuring and polite. He is an absolute credit to your restaurant.
Incredible Experience
What’s there to say other than YOU MUST GO HERE! From pulling into the driveway, this place is just stunning. We first went for dinner, seated on the lower patio and then again for lunch because we loved it so much and were seated on the upper patio. Both locations are exquisite. The dinner service included live music which added to the already outstanding atmosphere. All staff interactions were professional and courteous. The food and drinks were delicious, so fresh and using local ingredients including from their own garden. Take the time to walk around the perfectly manicured gardens. This place is just magical. Perfect for a special occasion.
Utterly stunning!
We visited for dinner on the recommendation of our hotel (the Rosewood Miramar) and it turned out to be our favourite dinner while staying in Montecito. The property is just beautiful. You must walk around after dinner and enjoy the gardens. It felt like we were in a dream! The food was great but I think I agree with the previous reviewer that it wasn’t absolutely the best food… 9/10 rather than 10/10. Like they said, you come here for the overall experience which is very special. Service is wonderful and we loved the smoked cocktails! We brought our kids (18 months, 9 and 12) and they were made to feel very welcome.
Very nice overall experience
We went for our anniversary and it was a lovely setting with excellent service. The food was good. We had oysters, calamari, salmon and steak Diane. For dessert we shared the baked Alaska and that was the outstanding dish of the night. I make my own mint chip ice cream and the ice cream in the baked Alaska tasted just as good! We were also very pleased to have a bottle of organic zero dosage champagne (Champagne Chavost). Service was efficient and friendly. Overall, we went for the whole experience and weren't disappointed. But you don't come here for the food especially.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
