天府春秋 Tian Fu Seattle Reviews from The Last Year
Overall a yummy place to go if you're craving Szechuan
Overall a yummy place to go if you're craving Szechuan food! Most of the dishes we ordered had a slight kick to it but it was a pleasant kind of spice. It lingered in the mouth and had me reaching for the water but didn't churn my stomach like certain spicy foods. We ordered the pork belly hot & spicy dry pot, cumin lamb stir fry, string beans, fried rice, fish with tofu in peppercorn broth among other things. Personally I wasn't a fan of the dry pot. It was a little dry, as maybe the name implied, and a bit salty. It wasn't bad but I preferred the cumin lamb to it which was flavorful and tender. The fried rice was not too salty and was good to balance out the strong flavors of the entrees we ordered. I really enjoyed the fish in broth. The fish was flaky and soft and the broth was rich. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and there weren't too many people in the restaurant. It was relatively quiet and the service was good.

I picked up my order just minutes after my order was placed
I picked up my order just minutes after my order was placed near the restaurant's opening hour. Just simple three dishes and they were all carefully packaged. Unfortunately when I got home, one of the three dishes was incorrect. The correct dish was printed on the label but they had packaged the wrong food. It made one of my family member quite disappointed and that's the reason for the two star review. I would've placed at least a four stars review based on the food and packaging had everything gone right.
My favorite restaurant of all time.
Absolutely amazing, especially if you're a fan of spicy food. I eat here at least 2-3x a month, and it is always worth it. My favorites are the Chongqing La Zi Ji and the Salted Duck Egg Green beans. Super authentic Sichuan food. The service is always fantastic!
Yummmmyyyyy.
Yumm yum yumm yum. It is very yummy. Even if it gets busy the wait times are not very long and most importantly the food is very very yummy
Tasty authentic Schezuan food.
I love the Cilantro beef and shredded pork dish. They have decreased the amount of scheggiando peppercorns and is now more approachable for the uninitiated.
If you are looking for American style Chinese food, you
If you are looking for American style Chinese food, you will not get too much of that here. I was intrigued by the menu because there were many items that I did not recognize on there. I played it safe and ordered the kung pao chicken and fried potstickers. Both were disappointments. The potstickers were straight from the Costco frozen section, then deep fried. The kung pao here was very strange to me. What I did like was the amount. There was a ton of it and the meat was very tender. But that's all the good I could say. I have never had a kung pao chicken be so sweet. I was almost convinced I ordered teriyaki. The spice comes from schezwan peppers so you get the signature numbing sensation the more you eat. I don't have a sensitive palet, but it seemed like they put a ton of pepper in it. My mouth was so numb when I was finished, I could barely keep the saliva in my mouth. It felt like I just got a root canal. I didn't take the rest home because it would have went strait to the trash. Also, I noticed, while I was there that the servers seemed to only be nice to those who spoke Chinese. The server was not too kind to me while I was there. For sure won't be back.
Vinegar black fungus and cucumbers to start.
Sichuan spicy prawns and frog to finish. Love the numbing spicy mala flavors. Brings back so many great memories of living and dining on Chinese special dishes when living in China. Yay! Try it.
I should preface this by saying I'm not Chinese.
However I did live in China for almost all of the 1980s. I've been to Sichuan many times and recall many wonderful meals there. My go to restaurant for 川菜 or Sichuanese food up until the pandemic had been Sichuanese Cuisine, or 老四川, the one in Bellevue. Unfortunately the only time I've been back there since the pandemic their food was not very good. Everything seemed to have only one flavor. A few days ago we decided to try Tianfu. As unhappy as I was with the place in Bellevue, I disliked this place even more. However I must admit that there were quite a few Chinese people eating there. So take your chances if you decide to go there. I won't be going back.
There is so much potential in this restaurant but
There is so much potential in this restaurant but unfortunately the food is not as good as I expected. The place is spacious and I really like the Chinese style interior. The service is decent and they never pressured up to leave even as it gets crowded. The food portions are very good as you get a lot for each dish. I just wish the food taste better. I ordered some typical Sichuan food such as the dry lot frog but somehow the food is just missing some necessary magic to taste right. I think the restaurant is missing some authentic Sichuan spices so the food just tastes bland. The frog dry pot has decent pieces of frogs but the breading is too much on the frogs and I think the frogs should have been fresh instead of frozen. The pork pieces are cut out a little too big to bring out the right flavor. The veggies are also cut too large. Overall it's an alright restaurant and worth going if you are in Seattle area but if you've had better Sichuan food before it's not worth coming here specifically.
